Filmed June 15, 2013. The compressed power of the miniature. Tiny floats, tiny mobile stages, and a mighty brass band parade through the streets of DUMBO Brooklyn to mark the opening of the temporary Toy Theater Museum during the 10th International Toy Theater Festival at St. Ann's Warehouse on Jay Street; and the continuation of evening theater, and puppetry performances there.
Members of the Shinbone Alley Stilt Band, The Himalayas, the Rude Mechanical Orchestra, etc. formed the core of the brass band contingent. In the video they play "African Marketplace" by Abdullah Ibrahim, and another unidentified song (somebody please identify the last song); the band also played "Down By the Waterside" during the march, but that's not in the video because it didn't work well with the editing, sorry.
