FAQ
Join a participating channel membership on the main YouTube site and app.
- Visit youtube.com or open the YouTube app.
- Go to the channel of, or a video uploaded by, the creator that you'd like to support and see if they've enabled memberships on their channel.
- Click or tap Join.
- Follow the prompts to enter your payment information.
- Click or tap Buy.
You'll see a welcome announcement once your transaction is complete.
Each channel owner decides what specific perks they want to offer, so membership benefits vary from channel to channel. At a minimum, all channel memberships include a loyalty badge, which you receive when you join. This badge lets you stand out in comments and live chat on that channel. Additional benefits may include custom emojis for use in chat, members-only videos and streams, access to exclusive members-only Discord servers and more.
Click the 'Join' button on the channel to check what membership levels and perks the channel is offering.
The channel memberships feature can be turned on or off by the channel owners. Eligible channels can turn on channel memberships by going to their Memberships page. For more information on channel eligibility, please visit the channel memberships page on the YouTube Help Centre.
If you can't find the 'Join' button, it's likely to be because of one of the following reasons:
- The channel hasn't enabled channel memberships or does not offer them
- The Join button currently does not appear on most enabled channels on iOS inside the YouTube app. Try joining from another non-iOS device or opening the channel page in a web browser.
Channel memberships are billed monthly, at a rate determined by your selected tier level. You can opt out of your membership at any time.
Information on creator revenue can be found in the YouTube Help Centre.
Go to the channel homepage that you've already joined select See perks or click your memberships tab.
Open the membership management screen by clicking See perks on a channel homepage select
click End membership and perks.
You can also cancel your membership at any time by following the steps below on a computer:

- Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships.
- Find the channel membership that you'd like to cancel and click Manage membership.
