Narali Bhaat or Narali Bhat is a special Maharashtrian delicacy prepared during the festival of Narali Pournima also known as Rakhi Purnima in other parts of India. Rice, freshly grated coconut and jaggery are the main ingredients in this recipe.
Ingredients (1 cup = 200 ml)
1 cup Basmati Rice/Basmati Chawal (1-2 years old)
1 cup freshly grated coconut/ kaddukas kiya hua taaza nariyal
1 1/2 cup finely sliced jaggery/ barik kata hua gud
3 cups of hot water/ garam pani (add as required)
1/3 cup peanuts/ moongfali
10-12 cashewnuts/ kaju made in 2 parts each
1/4 cup ghee
4-5 cloves/ laung
1/8 tsp salt/ namak
Powder of 5-6 cardamom/ elaichi powder
