The world is a busy place, but our mind gets busier. We step onto our yoga mats looking to quiet our mind and our emotional sensations. We begin to tune into our breathes and slowly our mind becomes quiet, and our bodies connect.
Many people may use eating as a coping strategy for dealing with emotions. We stuff ourselves with so much food that we feel guilty afterwards and sick in our stomach. We count calories to restrict our diets and deprive ourselves when eat small portions. Why focus so much on serving sizes to determine how much we eat rather than listening to our bodies when it tells us we’ve had enough? Let’s practice our mindful practice onto healing our relationship with food and reconnect ourselves to our body.
Today, I have a video inspired from my yoga practice. It tells me a very important message and that is: We should trust our bodies to tell us what it needs. And free our minds from judgmental thoughts so that we can accept and love ourselves as the way we are.
Yoga is a living journey. It follows wherever we go. Even when we eat! :)
