Using Luna’s ODiSI-B, real time temperature measurements are reported every 2.5mm along an optical fiber that is helically wrapped around the canister. Cold spray and heating pads are used to induce temperature change. Mapping this high resolution temperature data onto a 3D model demonstrates the ability to use Luna’s high resolution data for 3D visualization and FEA model comparison.

Using Luna’s ODiSI-B, real time strain measurements are reported every 625 microns along a single telecom-grade optical fiber that is both surface bonded and embedded in a carbon fiber composite panel. As the carbon fiber beam is cantilevered, the full field strain profile shows higher strain gradients around rivet holes, demonstrating the ability to detect potential defects and failure points. While two points along fiber are plotted to show correlation to two surface mounted foil gages, the remaining distributed data provided by the fiber shows tremendous detail about the composite structure. Mapping Luna’s high resolution strain data onto a 3D model demonstrates the ability to use Luna’s high resolution data for 3D visualization and FEA model comparison.

The Luna Sensor Suite for Aircraft Corrosion Monitoring (LS2A-802) is a wired or wireless sensor node capable of autonomously monitoring environmental and corrosivity parameters to determine the atmospheric severity of difficult to access regions within airframes. The technology uses both commercial-off-the-shelf and novel sensor elements to monitor a set of parameters and provide an ISO-9223 classification of the environment's corrosivity. In addition to providing a high-level environmental severity classification, the nodes maintain all raw sensor data with internal storage for future access and engineering analysis. Data from the sensor nodes can be accessed via RS-485 wired or 802.15.4 wireless interfaces. This video highlights the key features and functions of the LS2A system and how it can be used to improve aircraft corrosion maintenance practices.

LUNA's TrueClot Blood Simulant is a highly realistic, non-staining simulated clotting blood for use in realistic trauma and hemorrhage control training. Simulated blood clots can be created using TrueClot Simulated Hemostatic Gauze or Clotting Solution. TrueClot does not stain clothing and can be cleaned with water and household detergent.

Laundering instructions: For small stains on fabric or clothing, rinse/soak with water and launder as normal. For larger stains or stains that have dried, thoroughly rinse and gently scrub with laundry detergent and water to remove as much stain as possible. Soak the garment in mixture of water and laundry detergent for 1-3 hours then launder as normal. In most cases the stain will be removed after soaking.
