But, of course, things tend to take longer than expected, and this is no exception. Although, documenting my adjustments in a YouTube video probably exponentially increased the amount of time this has taken, and I only covered three of the levels in this video, but hopefully this was the greatest bulk of what needed to be done, and that fixing the rest of the levels can fit nicely into just one more episode. Anyway, I fix a few things in Lemmy Sea Grasslands and Lemmy Heights, and then fix the biggest error of all in Yoshi's Hideaway, and that's what took the majority of the time here. And, since I already showed the story text in my previous Normal difficulty video with Daikona, I just button mash through it here. So, Daikona's globes are good for stalling, and seem to confuse the CPU AI at times. The end of round 1 is a particularly egregious example, where the CPU didn't know what the heck to do, and I was at 191 points when I noticed this, so I just sat there until the CPU eventually left the globes alone for long enough that they disappeared and gave me enough points to win. Also, it was weird how the right column of globes was not going away even though the CPU wasn't touching them for most of that time. Is that a glitch, perhaps? Later on, I did fumble a bit and suffered a loss to Morgana. Fortunately, I got back into my groove and won on the second attempt, and then I beat final boss MeatBun without any issues to clear the entire Hard Campaign with Daikona on my first try! Of course, having to go through 9 battles instead of 8 now does make this more challenging, especially since you still only get the same 3 lives. I do kinda wish Naka would add a way to earn extra lives somehow. Perhaps give the player an accumulating score, maybe based on how big of a margin you beat each opponent by, and every 200 or so points you score that way could be worth a 1-up. This took me a total of 9 tries. First, I attempted it 4 times with normal Mio, but of course, one or more of the CPUs would usually get way too "lucky". Then, I tried it 3 times with Mio (Festive), hoping I could use my +2 ATK to bully a weakened opponent, but whenever I failed to get a kill, I usually got slain in return. It wasn't uncommon for me to attack a weakened Nico or Arthur while I was at full health, have them somehow survive, and then get counterattacked for 6, while I roll 3 or lower and get KO'd. And, I did try packing my deck with expensive cards for the CPUs waste stars on, like Super All-Out Mode, Little War, and Lonely Chariot. Not once did I ever see them use a Chariot, but they did occasionally use Little War, and SAOM got used more often as well. However, I still wasn't having the fortune I needed with either Mio. So, fed up with this, I finally brought out the OP single-player version of Tomomo, and even then I failed on my first attempt with her, because one of the CPUs got "lucky" again, and had acquired way too many stars, and I couldn't even reach them to attempt to get the kill before they won. At least on this attempt, I did manage to get lucky and score a kill against Arthur at one point, giving me a nice lead, and then I simply stayed away from any potential disaster until I eventually won. So, now we have Daikona added to the mix, and I go through his Campaign on Normal difficulty for now, because I feel like I'm probably a bit rusty after not having played this game in a while. Daikona's got this unusual new type of attack gem. It looks like it's mainly there just to get in your way, and you can't clear it yourself, but it disappears on its own after several seconds of being left untouched, during which time the shine on the gem gradually dissipates. Hmm... When a round ends with shining gems on the loser's board, looks like the graphics for the shines can linger at the bottom of the screen. You can see a good example of this at the end of my first Campaign battle here. Anyway, I defeat all nine opponents very easily (yep, there are nine battles in Campaign now instead of eight). And then after the ending, I show Daikona's bio screen, and sit there long enough for the music to complete one loop, I think. After that, I play one Quick Match on Hard difficulty with Daikona vs. Daikona so I can experience being on the receiving end of the new attack gem. Oh, and before I started doing anything else in this video, I show what the locked bio page for Daikona looks like, which shows a silhouette of Ogre with three purple "!"s over it. That was what Naka was using as filler for Daikona's portraits while working on adding him to the game, so I guess Naka overlooked the Daikona silhouette there. Whoops. I'll be sure to let Naka know about that. That was unfortunate. But, this was incentive for me to make a video showing the English translation, and play through all of Story Mode proper. Maybe I could've decided to show all of the Story Mode rounds in one video, but I decided to keep it relatively short, since a few minutes are spent watching the tutorial, as I would like to show a good amount of the English translated text here. And, after I'm done with Story Mode, I could make videos of the other modes (including Time Attack, even though I've uploaded videos of that in the past), just to show off more translated text.
