Only wish it could have been 50, but it appears that Reisen is PS4-only, which I honestly feel extremely negatively about, but I hope that this is an exception, not the norm for all future games by Tasogare Frontier. Anyway, overall, I really enjoyed this game. Story Modes are reasonably short and switch through loads of characters and, which is best, pretty much all endings are canon, it's just one long storyline going through all characters. Reimu's Story Mode is actually divided into two parts, the first one being the first of all, chronologically, and her last one concluding the story, so I just mashed the two together (split occurs after the second fight). I changed a few buttons compared to 13.5 and had a much easier time, though some parts were tricky, but compared to the days of 7.5 and the likes, clears seem to be much easier to get (and way faster). In theory, it's similar to the Bunkachou spin-offs, but this time, you have more tools than just a camera. You start off with three, each of which grants you different abilities in battle. The basic premise of the game is to approach the patterns your opponents throw at you by using these tools, which, of course, means that strategies will differ depending on the tool used. Of course, quite a few patterns can also be cleared without their help and it's fun (and challenging to do so), but figuring out strategies with all these different options was way too much fun. However, since it's the first clear, it was exciting at least since the stage is fun and what I did manage to figure out was fun to work with. I concluded my original runs back in 2012 and, aside from spending some time clearing everything up to Hard on all characters before this game was released, I then never found the time to actively tackle new runs. I originally started with Reimu A for this one because I was going to do things in order, but, despite the character's really high damage potential, I just hate gimmicks, I just want to shoot straight. Pretty much all the preparation I had for this was occasional practice on Reimu A in Stage 2, 3, 4 and 5 since I had unlocked those for Practice before I got hit immediately after entering Stage 6. So yesterday, I figured I could just give it a try with Reimu B, unlock some stages for Practice, practice them and finally clear this. Despite some obvious hard times adjusting the strategies I had come up with for Reimu A, the run went better than I thought, barring some obvious cases of me not knowing what to do. I was pumped when I realized I'd be able to clear Stage 5, but clearing Stage 6 on my first try on top of that? That certainly was a surprise. Either way, until I clear this one on Lunatic, this run will stay in this playlist, after that it's off to the archives.
