To ensure a smooth implementation of this programme, MAKNA receives cooperation from Medical Social Work Department based in government hospitals. These officers screen applications and gather relevant information from their cancer patients. Once gathered, the documents will be forwarded to MAKNA for assessment. Throughout the assembly many visited the trailer to know more about cancer awareness and in particularly mammogram screening. The aim was to increase the awareness on looking after our health by going for regular check-ups. There were many other health partners were invited to provide different types of health screening for the participants of the assembly. Communication & Multimedia Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Mohd Salleh Tun Said Keruak visited the trailer together with the Chairlady of the Women's wing of the UMNO, Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil. In 2011, MAKNA’s initiative to provide mobile mammogram services to local communities everywhere in the country became reality when the GE Sonographe Digital Mammography System and all necessary supporting equipment, housed in a customized 40-foot trailer was approved and licensed by the Ministry of Health as fully fit for operations. The objective of this particular service is to reach out to women who may not have access to mammograms due to their locations and affordability reasons.
