<media:description>On 18 September 2025, UNICEF Eastern Caribbean, in collaboration with the Caribbean Suicide Decriminalization Coalition, United for Global Mental Health, CariCope Wellness Alliance, and International Association for Suicide Prevention hosted a regional webinar to mark Suicide Prevention Month.

The event brought together youth advocates, mental health professionals and community leaders to share experiences and practical solutions for saving lives.

Key themes included:
✔ Tackling stigma around suicide and mental health
✔ Strengthening policies and community action
✔ Supporting people in crisis
✔ Youth-led advocacy and solutions for prevention

This recording is a chance to hear directly from young people and practitioners who are driving change and working to ensure that every child and adolescent has hope for the future.

Every life matters. Together, we can break down barriers, save lives, and create supportive environments for children and young people across the Caribbean.

   <media:description>“Don’t exclude the boys.”

That’s the powerful message from 15-year-old Ajernee, a student from Saint Kitts and Nevis, who is championing menstrual health education for everyone — including boys and men.

She believes fathers, brothers, uncles, and peers must be part of the conversation to help break stigma and build a more supportive environment for girls.

Ajernee is also calling for schools and learning spaces to be equipped with free sanitary products, so no girl is left behind due to poverty or lack of access.

At UNICEF, we stand with young advocates like Ajernee. Together, we’re working to advance menstrual health, dignity, and equity — because periods should never be a barrier to education or opportunity.

This Thursday, 22 May at 7pm, UNICEF will host an important live discussion with girls from across the Eastern Caribbean.

They’ll be sharing their lived experiences and challenges around menstruation and calling for action to ensure every girl can manage her period with dignity.

This conversation comes ahead of World Menstrual Hygiene Day on 28 May, under the global theme “Together for a #PeriodFriendlyWorld.”

Let’s break the silence, challenge stigma and work towards a world where no one is held back because of their period.

<media:description>Rotavirus is a leading cause of severe diarrhoea in young children — and it can be life-threatening. But with vaccines, it’s preventable.

UNICEF, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, is proud to support the nationwide rollout of the free rotavirus vaccine in Grenada. This vital step helps protect the country’s youngest children, giving them a healthier start in life and reducing the burden on families and the health system.

Every child deserves protection. Every dose is a step towards a stronger, safer future. 💙
