It was December 1999. The doctor told Brian, then 51, that he thought a mass in Brian’s chest was cancer – a type of lymphoma. When his biopsy results came in the next month, Brian learned he had Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The Regina man had a difficult road ahead of him and no idea if he would survive. The treatment and care Brian received played a huge role in his recovery. But it was the support of family, friends and the community that made all the difference and really helped him thrive after cancer.
