Two women - a guard and her prisoner - fight to escape monsters lurking in the darkness.
A guard pushes her dangerous prisoner through a dark, post-apocalyptic underground. At the sharp end of a crossbow, the bound prisoner waits for her moment. When something monstrous stirs in the shadows, both are forced to fight for survival.
The Darkness is an Australian short film that seeks to nail a simple, strong action/horror vignette. It features two female leads who are tough and brutal, has no dialogue, a clear 3 act structure in miniature, and has a lot of fun with blood, crossbows and monsters. The filmmakers revel in the tension, violence and what lurks in the darkness. Have fun!
