Beyond theater, The Moth Mainstage is a curated live show featuring five tellers who develop and shape their stories with our directors. Through each Mainstage show we continue to build a community where entertainment and enlightenment merge. To attend a Moth Mainstage event, visit themoth.org/events.
Moth StorySLAMs are open-mic storytelling competitions held in 30 cities around the world. Open to anyone with a five-minute story to share on the night’s theme. After ten StorySLAMs in a city, the winners then compete for the title of GrandSLAM Champion with a brand new story. This is the ultimate battle of wits and words. To attend a Moth StorySLAM or GrandSLAM, visit themoth.org/events.
The Moth Community Program provides the space, tools, and expertise for people to practice the art and craft of personal storytelling. We partner with community organizations, small nonprofits, and cultural institutions to host workshops that inspire confidence and self-reflection in storytellers and listeners, and deepen connections within and between communities. For more information visit themoth.org/community.
The Moth Education Program works with young people and educators to build community through storytelling workshops, performances and innovative resources. For more information visit themoth.org/education.
The Moth's Global Community Program develops and elevates true, personal stories from extraordinary individuals in the global south. By honoring a broad range of individual experiences, we believe we can challenge dominant narratives, deepen connection, and create a more productive dialogue around the world.
