With its upcoming 3rd release, the Open Source game engine Godot is becoming a serious competitor in the gamedev industry. In this presentation you'll learn what it is and why you should give it a serious look. ---- The presentation is open source, made with Godot 3, available in French and English (more languages coming)! https://github.com/GDquest/...... You're welcome to use it, help translate it, modify it and even redistribute it :). I made it so fellow content creators who want to cover Godot at an event don't have to start from scratch.
As part of the Make Professional 2d Games with Godot Kickstarter, I made 30 tutorials for the Free game engine Godot 2. All the code and assets from this project are open source.
You will need Godot 2.1.x to follow the tutorials. You will not be able to open the projects in Godot 3! Download Godot 2: http://op.godotengine.org:81/downloads/
Some of the information will still help you to learn Godot 3, like the Intro to the Animation tools, UI containers etc. but some of the code will not work in the most recent release of the engine.
This Krita tutorial series will help you learn everything there is to know about this awesome open source painting program! Free Krita brushes: https://github.com/GDquest/free-krita-brushes/ Make professional game art with Krita: https://gum.co/krita-game-art-tutorial-1 The series is intended for 2d game artists, but will be useful as well for illustrators, concept artists and digital painters in general.
