The First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC) is Canada's premier source of quality information about First Nations people living on-reserve and in Northern communities. Incorporated in 2010 and headquartered in Akwesasne, its goal is to build capacity and provide credible and relevant information on First Nations using the highest standards of data research practices, while respecting the rights of First Nations self-determination and the principles of OCAP™ (Ownership, Control, Access and Possession).
