You can't keep people from talking about you, your business, your services, etc. - actually you don't want them to stop. You just want to know when something's being said so you can make the most of it.
Leveraging social media is the cheapest and most effective promotion you can ever have. If what they're saying is good, you can use it as promotional material the same way you'd use celebrity endorsements - to drive new sales. If it’s incorrect or flat-out false you can set the record straight (if you know about it immediately) before more damage is done.
When someone posts something negative about one of your prospects or customers on their industry's forum or Facebook page and you found out it immediately and contacted them before they or anyone else knew the review/comment had been posted?
