Handbuilding, Sculpting, and Wheel Throwing
No you don't throw a wheel in the classes. Wheel throwing is a term potters use for producing pottery on the potters wheel. We do throw pots though. Not in a literal sense but again throwing a pot is to produce it on the potters wheel. Students will learn the basics of handbuidling, sculpting, and doing wheel work during this 3 week long 15 day ClayCamp. ALL ARE WELCOME! Children, Youth, and Adults. Bring the entire family. What will the ClayCamp experience be like?
Learn the tools, equipment, terminology, initial potters wheel experience, handbuilding, basic sculpting, and the first half of a team handbuilding assignment.
Continue the team handbuidng assignment, back to the potters wheel, trimming wheel thrown projects, drying, and loading a bisque firing in the kiln.
Learn the types of firing, glaze techniques, glazing your bisque fired pieces, loading the kiln, and glaze firing.
