The Minter Field Air Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of the largest United States Army Air Force Basic Training Base during World War II. From 1941 to 1945 Minter Field trained over 11,000 airmen. Today Minter Field is a civil airport. The museum houses a collection of artifacts from Minter Field's training days, as well as military artifacts dating from World War I up to the present. The museum is located in Shafter, California, only a few miles west of Highway 99.
