This video is part of a campaign by the International Copper Association on behalf of our members. The campaign provides compelling evidence of copper’s unique role in sustainable development and how the copper industry is committed to positive actions addressing many of mankind’s greatest challenges. In this video you will hear from several professionals about how copper is important to the work they do.
Through the programs of the International Copper Association and its Copper Alliance partners, the copper industry is making a positive impact on areas of critical societal concern, such as energy efficiency/security, climate-change mitigation, public health, food supply, green building, and more.
Our podcast series, Transforming the Future of Copper, A Metalmorphosis, features international experts who are working with global businesses, governments, agencies and organizations to improve energy-efficiency standards. This podcast program is a continuation of our webinar series highlighting the societal benefits of copper.
Advocacy efforts by the International Copper Association have demonstrated that water quality criteria for copper are protective against olfactory impairment in salmon when bioavailability is properly accounted for through the use of the biotic ligand model (BLM). The ICA continues to monitor studies evaluating the effects of copper on fish olfactory impairment and fish olfactory behaviors, particularly in salmon.
