How fun is that! Our dogs repeat behaviors for which they are rewarded--so when she "answers" you I bet the attention she gets is a big plus. *s* Dogs love to do things that please their people, so when she sees how much you enjoy the "conversation" that's incentive to do it some more.
LOL! About all you can do is anticipate, maybe get her a bib to wear.
Adele, this is marvelous! I will share (with attribution to you, of course!) on my puppies.about.com site as well as my personal blog for all the cat and dog "parents" out there.
What a lovely tribute--and a glorious friendship. Thank you for sharing.
He likely is too young to know what's expected. Place him in the box after meals, naps, play...scratch a finger in the litter and PRAISE when he's productive. Leave a bit of his deposit in the box for the scent to help remind/guide him back...and the placement of the box is important (easy access but not too far away). Lots more kitten specific tips in my book Complete Kitten Care (Ebook, audio or print) Hope it helps!
That's a nice thought...but I'm not sure our cats always "respect" us that much, LOL! Among cats themselves, I don't know of any that bring mousy offerings to other adult cats...only to the kittens.
Magical-Dawg surprised this raccoon, and wanted to play--fortunately he did NOT have contact with what appears to be a sick/injured critter.
Nope, doesn't come with a leash.
