Windy City Lab is located here at the Chicago Bosch Connectory in the beautiful Merchandise Mart.
I have been a software, mobile and embedded developer with a digital electronics focus for over 30 years.
In fact, my first job out of college was writing avionics software for the F-16 fighter jet.
My passion is building physical smart products.
In this channel, we won’t be covering Arduino as we assume you are already familiar with it. We will be doing all of our projects using the ARM Cortex M Microcontrollers and we will be looking at the new Risc V processors. No more ARM ta.
I cover all the major concepts from board communication such as
I2C, SPI, UART. Power management and sleep modes.Interrupt Handling. Watchdog Timers. Going beyond the simple loop to using a Real-Time Operating system
I'll cover concepts like threading, mutexes, semaphores and more.
We will learn how to do real debugging of our firmware using JTAG and Single Wire Debug so say goodbye to those print statements
And ... we will be creating our own Printed Circuit Boards so we will cover both schematic design and PCB layout
And, of course, our projects will need an enclosure so we will be coving 3D modelling using Onshape.
I'll be posting a video each week so please hit that Subscribe button and let's build something together!
