K-TIG full penetration, single pass keyhole weld in 3/8in (9.5mm), 10in (250mm) diameter, 304 stainless steel pipe. Wire filler materials can be added during the full penetration keyhole pass which is commonly done to meet specific customer requirements, change the metallurgy of the weld or to create a heavier cap. Where wire is added it's typically less than 5% (and often 1%) of what would normally be required for a conventional GTAW weld.
K-TIG (Keyhole TIG) is a high speed, single pass, full penetration welding technology that welds up to 100 times faster than TIG welding (in materials up to 16mm in thickness), and typically operates at twice the speed of plasma welding.
K-TIG works across a wide range of applications, and is particularly well suited to lower conductivity materials such as stainless steels, nickel alloys, titanium alloys and most corrosion resistant and exotic materials.
