  • WHO'S the BEST CHARACTER in Super Smash Bros 64? (TEN SUBSCRIBER SPECIAL)

    1 193 vues il y a 11 mois
In this video, I decide once and for all who's the best character in Super Smash Bros for the N64.

Super Smash Bros is a series of crossover fighting games published by Nintendo.

SSB was the first game of the series and was released in 1999 (that's 18 years ago). Believe it or not, it was a small-budget game with a localized release. Due to its success, it was then released worldwide.

The objective of the game is to knock your opponents off the stage in any direction. Players have a "damage percentage" meter where attacks and items build it up. The more damage accumulated over time means more "knock back" for players' characters. Super Smash Bros 64 features no life bars.

Eventually, percentages will stack to an amount that makes it very difficult to recover from any attack. And thus, your character will be pushed beyond the playzone boundaries and you'll lose a life.

SSB 64 features free-for-all and team battle modes. The game also has a single-player storyline where you go through a series of staged battles.

But, that's not why it was fun. It was with friends. You could play with up to 3 other people in crazy battles complete with unique characters with special attacks, items, and even environmental hazards.

If you didn't have anyone to play with, you could arrange for some bots and set their skill level (with 1 being the easiest and 9 being the hardest).

It featured a selection of 8 characters (Mario, DK, Link, Samus, Pikachu, Kirby, Pikachu, Fox, and Yoshi) and 4 hidden characters (Luigi, Ness, Captain Falcon, and Jigglypuff).

Super Smash Bros 64 was praised for its addictive gameplay (which could be considered competitive), characters with attacks and abilities somewhat true to their lineage, graphics, music, and even the Super Smash Bros announcer (he's often used as a meme- e.g. "SSB announcer: failure/a new record, a new challenger approaches"").

SSB 64 was my favorite game in the series, even though SSB Melee is considered the best and is widely accepted in Super Smash Bros tournaments worldwide. As you can tell from the video, my favorite character is Mario.

Link, Samus, and Kirby were often the top picks when friends came over and I can see why (even though I make fun of them in this video).

If you're a fanboy, don't take anything I say seriously (seriously). Watch at your own risk. Actually, you probably shouldn't watch anything I make. Hah.
