Call for Code is an initiative to create solutions powered by open source technology that can help mitigate the effects of natural disasters and help communities better prepare and respond to the needs of survivors.
More than 180,000 independent and enterprise developers, data scientists, activists, and students from 165 nations created more than 5,000 applications with The Weather Company data from IBM and open source-powered technology including IBM Cloud, IBM Watson, and IBM Blockchain.
The Call for Code Global Prize recipient will be announced on October 12. The winning team will receive USD $200,000, have their solution live on in open source, and through IBM's Code and Response initiative, their solution will be further deployed to benefit communities in need.
