On 6th October, 2017, the UK Government launched a 12 week public consultation on its proposal to ban ivory sales in the UK. The number of people who respond to the consultation is critical. The more members of the public respond, the more the Government will take notice.
Write to the UK Government urging them to ban all sales of ivory. Any exemptions to the ivory trade ban should be limited to two narrow exemptions: (a) antiques from before 1900 that contain a small amount of ivory weighing less than 200 grams and amounting to less than 20% of the overall item and (b) sales to and between museums.
Here are three ways you can send in your written responses:
By completing the online survey: https://consult.defra.gov.u...
Or by email: email@example.com
Or by post: International Team – Ivory consultation, Area 1E, Nobel House, 17 Smith Square, London SW1P 3JR
Don't forget - the deadline is 29th December 2017. ACT NOW!
