Originally formed to help promote the May races at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the 600 Festival Association has made a significant impact on the community by bringing race fans to the city early, promoting a positive image of the city, and providing entertainment and motor sports education to local residents. The nonprofit organization has created a variety of interactive fan experiences over the last 30 years including an air show in Concord, parades throughout the region, bicycle races, and, most notably, Circle K Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola, a multi-day consumer festival in Uptown Charlotte celebrating its 23nd anniversary in 2017.
