This is the fourth To Hull And Back humorous short story competition video. The journey to Hull (via Cardiff) and back was filmed on the 10th and 11th of May 2018.
This year, the journey was a bit longer than in previous years - a 594 mile round trip. This is because I had to go via Cardiff, to pick up the competition winner, Crystal Jeans, which added on a few miles.
Crystal is the first winner to have made the long journey to Hull with me on the back of The Hog. On the journey, Crystal decided ‘The Hog’ was a poor name for the bike and named her 'Hilda The Hog', so now she has a name and gender. Hilda is a Harley Davidson Fatboy.
Crystal won the fourth To Hull And Back short story competition in 2017. The anthology was released on Hulloween (31st October).
The video also features Crystal’s mum, dogs and cat, some geese, a copy of the book (now spattered with high velocity insect impacts and rain) and lots of roads around the UK.
To Hull And Back is an annual competition, currently offering a £1,000 cash prize to the winner. If you want to learn more about the competition, please visit my website:http://www.christopherfield...
The music used in the video is performed by Jinxremover (I play drums in the band). The first song is an instrumental version of ‘Big Fish’ which was originally an Airbus song. The second song is called ‘Now I’m Dying’ and was written by Little Villains, a band that featured the late, great Philthy Animal Taylor.
