Expanding Horizons is a radio program airing on South Texas Public Radio, KEDT-FM, 90.3 in Corpus Christi and KVRT-FM, 90.7 in Victoria. Produced at Texas A&M University-Kingsville through the Political Science Program and the Office of Marketing and Communication, the program spotlights the experiences of A&M-Kingsville students participating in a global program initiative focusing on the countries of India, Bhutan, Botswana and New Zealand. The global initiative has four components attached to it -- research, service, learning and field experience. While abroad, the students attend classes at local universities, conduct research, participate in field studies, produce videos and create online blogs about their experiences. After participating in the initiative, students often choose to return to the host country as interns. The students share their experiences and journal entries in the radio series.
