Julie Bishop, soprano, is a classical singer based in Philadelphia, PA. These are some recent samples of my solo singing. I enjoy performing light operatic and oratorio repertoire, contemporary vocal repertoire (with/without extended vocal techniques), Swedish art song, and legitimate musical theater. I have performed with Opera Libera, Delaware Valley Opera Company, the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Chester County, the Philadelphia Gilbert and Sullivan Union, Intermezzo Opera, and the Centre Theater in Norristown. I have appeared in concert with the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra, GLAUX, and the Momenta String Quartet. I am currently a member of The Crossing, Philadelphia's premiere new music choir, and a soprano soloist/section leader at The Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill. I hold DMA and MM degrees from Temple University, where I am an adjunct faculty member in the Boyer College of Music and Dance and the Department of Theater, and a BM from Susquehanna University.
