Julie lives in Rose Bay with her husband and three children. Julie was elected to the House of Representatives on 25 November 2007 as the member for Franklin. She was first elected in November 2007 and then re-elected in August 2010 before being promoted to the position of Parliamentary Secretary for Community Services. She was also Parliamentary Secretary for Tasmania under the Regional Development portfolio. In December 2011, Julie was sworn in as the Minister for Community Services, Minister for the Status of Women and Minister for Indigenous Employment and Economic Development. She has worked hard to deliver on every election commitment promised to the people of Franklin. As a local, Julie understands what's important to the people of southern Tasmania.
