Did you know that Sungai Muda is one of the most important rivers in the northern states of Malaysia? It provides as much as 96% of Kedah’s, 80% of Penang’s and 40% of Perlis’ raw freshwater, serving over 4 million people in the region.
From April 14-17 2019, WWF-Malaysia brought a group of Water Heroes comprising representatives from local water agencies, academic experts, media and social media influencers to raise awareness about the role of forests in supplying water for our everyday needs.
From the forests of Ulu Muda, where Sungai Muda originates, all the way to Ampang Jajar Barrage, where it flows to the sea, check out the highlights to find out what our Water Heroes got up to! #JourneyofWaterMY
