Cox's Bazar is the tourism capital of Bangladesh, it is known for its wide sandy beach, which is the world's longest unbroken natural sandy sea beach, which is 125 km long with a gentle slope. This southernmost district city located 150 km south of Chittagong, adjacent to Myanmar border in southeastern side. Cox’s Bazar is also known by the name "Panowa", the literal translation of which means "yellow flower". Its other old name was "Palongkee". The modern Cox's Bazar derives its name from Captain Hiram Cox (died 1799), an officer served as Superintendent of Palonki (today's Cox's Bazar) in British East India Company.
The climate of Cox's bazar is mostly similar to the rest of the country. It is further characterized by the location in the coastal area. The annual average temperature in Cox's Bazar remains at about a maximum of 34.8 °C and a minimum of 16.1 °C. The average amount of rainfall remains at 4,285 mm.
The main attraction of Cox's Bazar is the long sandy beach that stretches from the mouth of the Bakkhali River going all the way to Teknaf. Although commonly known as Cox's Bazar beach, it stretches far beyond the area designated as Cox's Bazar town.
Cox’s Bazar, mostly famous for its beautiful sea beach and the sunset, has several other attractions, including:
Laboni Beach: This is the main beach of Cox's Bazar and is considered the main beach due to the fact that it is closest to the town. Close to the beach, there are hundreds of small shops selling souvenirs and beach accessories to the tourists.
Himchari/ Himchori: Located about 18 km south of Cox’s Bazar along the sea beach, is a nice place for the picnic and film shooting. This picnic spot is famous for its waterfalls. The road to Himchari runs by the open sea on one side and hills on the other, which makes the journey to Himchari very attractive. It’s another attraction is the Christmas tree.
Enani Beach/ Enani Sea Beach: Located 35 km south of Cox’s Bazar, this white sandy beach is located within Ukhia Thana. The beach is famous for golden sand and clean shark free water, which is ideal for sea bathing. Most tourists prefer to come down here for relaxing because it is free from the crowd of tourists that is usually seen at the Laboni beach.

First you have to come to the Khagrachhori (খাগড়াছড়ি). Shamoly (শ্যামলী) will be the best available bus service from all. From Khagrachhori (খাগড়াছড়ি) you can reach at Dighinala (দীঘিনালা) using CNG driven vehicles. It will be around 50 taka per person. From Dighinala (দীঘিনালা) you can hire motorbike or any four wheel driven vehicles locally known as Chander Gari (চান্দের গাড়ি). It will be better if you hire the vehicle for round trip. Otherwise you may not find any vehicle during your returning. Probably our group has hired the four wheel drive vehicle for 5000 taka for two days. I am not sure about the cost.
Where to stay:
There are several cottages/resorts available for night staying (a bit costly though). These are governed by the Army or BGB. If you search at internet you'll find the required information. Also you can stay at the tribal houses. But that case you have to go there first, and then convince the villagers to give you a room. Konglak Para, ruilui para. সাজেক ভ্যালীর আকাশে সাদা মেঘের ভেলা
St. Martin's Island (সেন্ট মার্টিন্স দ্বীপ/ সেন্ট মার্টিন আইল্যান্ড/ Saint Martin’s Island/ St. Martin Island, Saint Martn Island/ St. Martins Island) is a small island (area only 8 km2) in the northeastern part of the Bay of Bengal, about 9 km south of the tip of the Cox's Bazar, Teknaf peninsula (টেকনাফ), and forming the southernmost part of Bangladesh (বাংলাদেশ) . There is a small adjoining island that is separated at high tide, called Chhera Island. It is about 8 kilometers (5 miles) west of the northwest coast of Myanmar, at the mouth of the Naf River (নাফ নদী). Local name of the island is "Narical Gingira ", also spelled "Narikel Jinjira/ Jinjera", that means 'Coconut Island (নারকেল দ্বীপ)' in Bengali. It is the only one coral island in Bangladesh (প্রবাল দ্বীপ) . St Martin’s Island is perfect for tourist who is truly interested in escaping the holds of a modern world. Do not expect to find taxis, tarred roads or electricity here. Lodges are dependent on generators, as the island is all about sun, sea and palm trees. During the day, the island comes alive with water and beach sports, with beach parties and bonfires lighting up the evening skies. For the use of a phone or a reminder of what a television set looks like, visitors can pop down to the Coast Guard station. It's possible to walk around the island in a day because it measures only 8 km2 (3 sq. mile), shrinking to about 5 km2 (2 sq. mi) during high tide. This is the only coral island of Bangladesh. St. Martin's Island has become a popular tourist place. Currently, some (about 5 to 6 in number) shipping liners run daily trips to the island, including Sea-Truck and Keary-Sindbad. Tourists can book their trip either from Chittagong or from Cox's Bazar or from Dhaka. The surrounding coral reef of the island has an extension named Chera Dwip. The golden sandy sea beach and crystal clear blue water memorize you the koh lipe island of Thailand. Tourist Attactionss of St. Martin's Island:
