To Inform Families First (TIFF) is a non-profit organization founded by Christine Olson in memory of her daughter that was killed in a car crash in Manatee County in 2005. Tiffiany was only 15 minutes away from her home when this happened, but took law enforcement over 6 hours to contact Ms. Olson. Because of this Ms. Olson along with Florida State Senator Bill Galvano and Manatee County Sheriff's Office worked to get a database for emergency contact information. In 2006 the State of Florida recognized Ms. Olson with a certificate of appreciation. In 2007 Senator Galvano takes up TIFF's Initiative in his annual official legislative update. In 2008 then Florida Governor Charlie Crist declares October 2 - 8, 2008 as "To Inform Families First" week. In 2006 the Ash Institute at Harvard voted the Emergency Contact Information (ECI) program one of the top 50 best government innovations. 2011 4 million people registered and was used 600,000 times.
