Glen Ellyn Infant Welfare is a group of women who have made a commitment to ensure the well-being local families an children. Established in 1926 by five women who saw children lacking basic nutrition, the ladies of Glen Ellyn Infant Welfare made and sold aprons to buy milk for these families. Years ago we paid half the salary for the first village nurse, established the first preschool examination program, and gifted to Memorial Hospital of DuPage its first isolette for premature babies. Recent efforts include funding a children's defibrillator for the Fire Company, providing ESL software to schools and giving scholarships for students to attend the College of DuPage. We not only donate our funds, but volunteer our time to the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, People's Resource Center and Family Shelter Services as well as other agencies we support.
