The Cambridge Africa Partnership for Research Excellence (CAPREx) project is a partnership program between the University of Cambridge in the UK, Makerere University in Uganda and the University of Ghana, Legon.

The CAPREx project, with funding from the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the Isaac Newton Trust, aims to support the development of African academic research excellence by strengthening research and research management capacity in the two African Universities through this partnership. Makerere and UG are part of the focal African universities for the Carnegie Corporation of New York and this project seeks to build on and complement existing Carnegie initiatives in the partner African Universities.
