This channel "The Sound of Japan:The World of Sōkyoku Today" is a part of a program where we aim to introduce the world of classical and modern Sōkyoku箏曲 from Japan. By publishing an online concert series, we hope to invite you all to the contemporary version of Sōkyoku and the traditional Japanese music.

 #Ayumi Shimonoto : koto, vocals A Yamada style koto player, Ayumi Shimonoto graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and completed her master's degree at the Department of Japanese Music. She has organized and performed numerous Japanese music concerts including performances broadcasted on NHK-FM, and she has participated in various CD, movie, and performing art projects.
