A native of New Zealand, now based in Singapore, Grant ‘Axe’ Rawlinson is a professional speaker, mountaineer, author and human powered explorer. Originally an international 7-aside rugby player, Grant was forced into retirement through injury after playing for 25 years. Searching for fresh challenge he soon found it in the world of extreme adventure and has made over 50 expeditions on 5 continents, from the summit of Mt Everest, virgin peaks in Kyrgystan to the wilds of Patagonia.
Grant’s interests as a speaker and coach are in increasing performance through developing and changing the way we work. Grant applies and shares the lessons learnt through his passion for extreme and unique expeditions which require years of preparation and planning, high levels of risk and uncertainty, leadership and teamwork under stressful circumstances and coping with setbacks to inspire and coach individuals and teams in the corporate and sporting world to achieve greater results.
Grant holds bachelor and post graduate degree’s in Surveying from the Otago University in New Zealand, a post graduate diploma in business and finance from MDIS in Singapore and is trained as a Brain Based Coach from the NeuroLeadership Institute. Grant has 20 years experience in the corporate world managing teams and dealer networks through Asia, including 10 years experience in senior management.
