A current imperative for global society is to rethink and redesign community areas in step with new concepts of social evolution. At Light&Building 2016, iGuzzini presented the ideal city redesigned by the singularities of light, the harbinger of social innovation, in its quest to call the world’s Lighting Community – architects, town planners, lighting designers – to the task of redesigning the environs of our cities through light.
Singularity is a term derived from gravitational physics. It is an event that takes place just once in the space-time dimension but has the following determinant effect: Everything that has existed before and everything to come will never be the same. The iGuzzini ecosystem is composed of singularities that change our way of conceiving and relating to light. The booth in Frankfurt provided an immediate reading of the iGuzzini approach and the new offerings that fill its central area. Wide counters displayed and told the story of the products, specifically, through their “Singularity”, testifying to the element that characterizes the identity of each one. These iGuzzini products represent values in these terms: lighting fixtures as tools characterized by content, values, forces of radical advancement and acceleration, and by a “singularity”, or rather, a quantum leap forward in technology and service. The effects of iGuzzini singularities were shown in what we call the “Light Experience”.
