In November 2014 we discovered Myanmar by boat, plane, bike, bus, taxi and plane.
Our trip started in Mandalay where we also undertook a daytrip to the beautiful and hugely impressive Mingun Paya. From Mandalay we flew to Bagan by plan to roam the beautiful former kingdom with its over 1000 pagodas. Next stop was Inle Lake which offered a great change of scenery while riding a boat over the lake. After that we went to Mount to Mount Kyaiktiyo where we stood in awe in front of the golden rock and were impressed by the welcoming nature of the Myanmar people. After that we went to the former capital Yangon where we enjoyed the colonial architecture and the biggest pagoda in Myanmar, the Shwedagon Padoga. To chill out we then spent our last few days in Ngweng Saung Beach before returning to Yangon from where we headed home. Myanmar is a stunning country impressing with both a natural beauty as well as the welcoming, extremely friendly people.
