Summary of the UK visitor visa application process and requirements:
👉If you're coming to the UK for 6 months or less, check if you need to have a visa because, in addition to the countries in the EU and EEA, the UK has a list of 56 countries whose nationals don't need a visa for visiting the UK for a short period.
👉If you do need a visa, some of the reasons that are normally accepted for applying for the Standard Visitor Visa include:
1. Tourism and holiday
2. To visit friends and relatives
3. Business reasons, like attending a business meeting or a conference.
👉Now if you come to UK for any of these reasons you can stay in the 6 months or less, but you can leave and come back several times.
👉There are two other reasons for applying for UK Visitor Visa that I just want to mention quickly:
4. Coming as an Academic Visitor, for example if you’re working as an academic staff at a university in your country you may be taking some time out to carry out some research in the UK.
If you get a visa as an Academic Visitor, you can apply to stay for no longer than 12 months.
5. Coming to get private medical treatment. And for this you can apply to stay in the UK for up to 11 months.
👉Reasons that will most definitely not be accepted for applying for a UK Visitor Visa are:
1. To study
2. To work, even if it’s unpaid
3. To get married
4. To live in the UK permanently
👉As for the documents you will need to submit with your UK visit visa application, check these out in the video as this is the longest section.
👉The UK visitor visa application process is online on the www.visa4uk.com website. You can submit your application 3 months before your travel date.
👉As part of the online visa application, you book an appointment to submit your visa application and all supporting documents to a UK Visa Application Centre in your home country (or neighbouring country because some countries don’t have their own Visa Application Centres.
👉Also as part of your application on www.visa4uk you will have to pay your visa application fee, which It’s £87 or around $115. Some Visa Application Centres charge you an extra fee.
👉You will need to register on the website of the via application centre, which is going to be either a tlscontact or vfsglobal centre, otherwise your appointment won’t be confirmed and you won’t be able to submit your visa application.
👉When you go to submit your visa application and all your supporting documents, be ready to sit a visa interview, that’s probably going to focus on finding out about your reasons to travel to the UK, how you plan to cover all the cost and the reasons you have for returning to your country.
👉After all of this, you would get a decision within 3 weeks and I really hope that this decision is going to be positive.
And this guys is how you apply for your UK Visitor Visa. I hope you will find this video helpful. See you next time!
