We are delighted to present you the new 3A Composites Core Materials corporate movie, featuring our company’s integrated operations around the world. Shot across multiple locations, the movie touches on the core values that drive our company’s success and showcases the activities performed at each site. The movie is an snapshot of the skillful work performed every day for our customers by our team of more than 4,000 colleagues, who crew production facilities, plantations and harvesting sites, R&D labs and offices spread across four continents.
3A Composites AirexBaltekBanova is the first and only supplier of balsa core materials with FSC®-certified plantations. The forest companies of 3A Composites operate several thousand hectares FSC®-certified balsa wood plantations in Ecuador and Papua New Guinea.
At 3A Composites AirexBaltekBanova we are very proud to have provided the best balsa logs to build the rafts that made the Kon-Tiki2 expedition happen. The goal of the expedition was to show that a round trip from South-America to Easter Island was possible, on two balsa rafts and with 15th Century technology. It has been a great privilege to become part of this achievement.
3A Composites AirexBaltekBanova is proud to support Ant-Arctic-Lab on its world record attempt to sail nonstop from Europe to the Arctic - and through the Northwest Passage. Over the next two-and-a-half years, 53-year-old sailor Norbert Sedlacek will prepare for this Arctic adventure. His voyage will start from Les Sables d’Olonne on the French Atlantic seaboard in the middle of July 2018 and cover a distance of 34,000 nautical miles before ending back where he started in February 2019.
The epic seven-month sailing challenge will be tackled by Sedlacek in a 18.28 meter Open 60 AAL, constructed of AIREX® T10 PET foam, BALTEK® SB & BANOVA® balsa wood, and volcanic fiber.
