In this 30 minute Relax and Rejuvenate Yin Yoga Class, we will melt away pent up stress and tension dragging you down, leaving you feeling restored, rejuvenated and ready to tackle the rest of your day (or enjoy a peaceful night's rest without any lingering stress from the day keeping you unsettled).
Yin yoga is a slow, restorative type of yoga. Poses are held anywhere from 2-10 minutes. Props such as bolsters, yoga blocks, and yoga blankets are used to support you in the pose to make each pose feel effortless and relaxing, all the while giving you an immensely healing deep stretch in the connective tissues of your body --a deeper layer of tissues in the body than other, more fast paced styles of yoga are able to target.
If you do not have yoga props, you can still do the video. Just get creative, and substitute with something lying around your house that is a similar shape and size. For example, instead of a bolster, use a firm pillow or some stacked pillows. Instead of yoga blocks, use two books or boxes of similar size and shape. You don't have to use a "yoga" blanket ...you can use any throw blanket around the house, or even a rolled up towel --just double up for added thickness if necessary. Just use whatever works for you, and get ready for a super comfy, restorative 30 minutes of yoga to relax and rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit (...you'll reap the other benefits of Yin Yoga too, such as increased flexibility and decreased levels of stress, anxiety, and depression).
