hey all and welcome back i'm gary thankyou all to the subscribersapproaching 400 i i can't be morethankful really appreciate it thank youtoday we're gonna look at fedora fedora36 in fact gonna move away from bsdsjust for todayjust to see what the competition has tooffer i've heard some good things aboutit i've heard that it's using the latestgnomeversion of 42.let's have a look and see what it's likeshall we so i've got it running on mymac mini it's really crummy hardwareit's running on a mechanical hard drivei willprobably install it onto this at somepoint just to see if we can squeeze somemore performance out of iti don't know it depends we'll see how itgoes so let's have a quick look at whatwe've got so here it is here's the theshell let's have a look of what'sinstalled so i've installed a fewapplications on it already just to havea quick nose aroundso let's have a quick look at thiswe've got fish on there yeah we havelook at that great brilliant so let'sget rid of that we don't need that i'mnot the hugest fan of of gnome i'll behonest iti don't know it just feels veryconvoluted and clunky butin all honesty this version seems a bitbetterbut we'll have a look so i've installedsome of the stuff that i would probablyuse in my day-to-dayworkingso we've gotaudacity let's check that outis it going to launchis it yes it is there we go audacity isrunning i believe[Music]302so that's the latest stable i believebig thing for me was to install chromeand here it isi wish they would release this forfreebsd would make things so much easierlet's have a look i wonder what versionthis is because obviously version100 just came out what version is this100 look at thatthat's coolthat's really goodapologies for the dodgy audio for somereasonaudio through hdmi is just not capturingvery well butyou knowso be itso there we go chrome working wellyep chrome workingfairly welli get the feeling that this hardware hasonly got a 100 meg nick in it as well sothat would make it quite slowum actually let's have a quick look seewhat hardware we've got in this becauseit is like i said it's quite crummyyeah look at that seeas i thought so we've got a core 2 duoat 2.4 gigahertzthat has got nvidia graphics geforce32 0 m so thatkind of explains why i wasn't getting itto work very well on on other operatingsystemsthere was me thinking it was in intelbut it's notbut uh yeah solike i saidcrummy hardwarewhere was we so let's have a quick lookat the other bitsum obs studioi would need thisfor my day-to-day stuffso there we gothat's goodso obs studioso we've got libraoffice let's have a look at thatyeah there we go libra officehello worldseven three one three yeah nicenow don't save thatdon't save thatnow davinci resolve so i could get awaywith dumpingall the adobe stuff and using davinciresolveif it runsis it gonna runi would suspect not on this hardwareit's probably just gonna gowhich is what it's done look at thatit's just gone awayokayfinei suspect that wouldn't happen if i wasto run it on decent hardware i mightactually try installing this onon aan ssdin my main pc and see what we getrhythm boxso there we go there's the main bitsthat i would um probably get away withusingyeahwell if there's vlcyeah of course there iswe'll install thatjust trying to think of what else wecould actually install on hereokay go away then we don't want toworry too much about thati wonder if i could install kaden livemaybe i cani certainly don't think that kaden liveat this point could umreplace what i'm used to usinguhmaybe it couldjust not for me at the momentso yeahthere we gothat's umfedora i don't like this background andi don't like that there's no dark modeso let's have ahave a looksie and see what we got shallwethat's interesting nightlightthere we go that'sbetteri quite like that that's a bit better init so let's have a look nowmuch bettermuch betteryeahnotifications yeah so that's pretty muchall i need to have a look at we'll ummaybe revisit thisat a later date on on real hardware welluh we'll have to see how that goesumi mean let me know in the comments guysdown below what you think of this um isit something that you would would useor would you prefer to stick withfreebsd i would personally rather stickwith freebsd but i could see myselfusing thisit's not badif i can getda vinci to work then maybe i would usethatanyway leave comments inin the comments belowand uh don't forget to like andsubscribe and click the notificationbell because that tells you when i'mgonnawhen i have released new videos sotake care guys and i'll see you all inthe next onebye bye
