<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?><transcript><text start="0" dur="3.899">hello everybody and welcome back to</text><text start="2.22" dur="4.8">another video now in today's episode</text><text start="3.899" dur="5.041">we're going to be taking a look at morph</text><text start="7.02" dur="3.48">OS which is a pretty interesting and</text><text start="8.94" dur="4.02">unique operating system because it</text><text start="10.5" dur="5.219">serves a very niche market in the modern</text><text start="12.96" dur="4.86">day this is an OS that is still actively</text><text start="15.719" dur="5.161">maintained and developed that's designed</text><text start="17.82" dur="5.52">for certain power PC based machines and</text><text start="20.88" dur="4.68">its roots lie in Amiga OS in fact</text><text start="23.34" dur="5.46">morphos is considered to be an Amiga OS</text><text start="25.56" dur="5.219">like operating system and Amiga OS is</text><text start="28.8" dur="4.32">kind of a whole nother can of worms that</text><text start="30.779" dur="4.261">would probably be safe to go down in a</text><text start="33.12" dur="4.02">separate video but what you need to know</text><text start="35.04" dur="4.859">is that morph OS was originally designed</text><text start="37.14" dur="4.259">for certain Amiga computers that had an</text><text start="39.899" dur="3.961">accelerator card installed which</text><text start="41.399" dur="4.081">contained a power PC processor now when</text><text start="43.86" dur="3.78">you think of powerpc there's a good</text><text start="45.48" dur="3.899">chance you think of Max because Apple</text><text start="47.64" dur="4.2">used the architecture in their machines</text><text start="49.379" dur="4.921">beginning in the 1990s and Lasting until</text><text start="51.84" dur="4.26">the Intel transition in the mid-2000s so</text><text start="54.3" dur="3.779">you probably won't find it surprising</text><text start="56.1" dur="5.22">that morphos was eventually made to be</text><text start="58.079" dur="5.46">installed on powerpc Mac as well in fact</text><text start="61.32" dur="4.38">out of the 11 computers listed as</text><text start="63.539" dur="4.981">officially compatible with morphos on</text><text start="65.7" dur="4.68">the website seven of them are Max and</text><text start="68.52" dur="4.919">we've got one of those computers right</text><text start="70.38" dur="6.419">here of course it's my power Mac G4 Cube</text><text start="73.439" dur="5.941">that I actually last powered on in 2021</text><text start="76.799" dur="5.941">when we installed Ubuntu Linux on this</text><text start="79.38" dur="7.2">thing so we are going to pop in the</text><text start="82.74" dur="6.12">morphos installation disk right here</text><text start="86.58" dur="4.5">and we're just gonna reboot the system</text><text start="88.86" dur="4.14">and begin the installation process and</text><text start="91.08" dur="3.78">yes we are going to overwrite the</text><text start="93" dur="4.2">existing Ubuntu install and just do a</text><text start="94.86" dur="3.84">clean install of morph OS and see what</text><text start="97.2" dur="3.3">it has to offer this is actually going</text><text start="98.7" dur="3.84">to be my first time taking a look at</text><text start="100.5" dur="3.84">this I have not explored this off camera</text><text start="102.54" dur="4.02">so this is going to be a new experience</text><text start="104.34" dur="4.56">for me as well but from what I've looked</text><text start="106.56" dur="4.199">at this operating system looks uh pretty</text><text start="108.9" dur="4.44">cool because it's kind of its own thing</text><text start="110.759" dur="4.86">in fact the OS states that this is a</text><text start="113.34" dur="4.38">mostly proprietary operating system</text><text start="115.619" dur="4.201">though it does have a few open source</text><text start="117.72" dur="4.259">components but it is a commercial</text><text start="119.82" dur="4.259">operating system this is not free you do</text><text start="121.979" dur="6.181">have to pay for it I believe a license</text><text start="124.079" dur="6.96">costs around 79 Euros however there is a</text><text start="128.16" dur="4.98">free 30-minute trial period that you can</text><text start="131.039" dur="4.741">utilize and it's actually how you have</text><text start="133.14" dur="4.2">to install the OS and there we go the</text><text start="135.78" dur="3.06">monitor is lying to us it says it cannot</text><text start="137.34" dur="4.56">display this video mode but it is</text><text start="138.84" dur="5.7">displaying the video uh but so that's</text><text start="141.9" dur="4.62">kind of funny but uh yeah oh it's</text><text start="144.54" dur="5.339">definitely on a super high resolution</text><text start="146.52" dur="4.92">solution here that's why it's oh my gosh</text><text start="149.879" dur="3.781">this is quite yeah this is because of</text><text start="151.44" dur="4.68">the capture card that I've got the VGA</text><text start="153.66" dur="4.799">signal split between that and the</text><text start="156.12" dur="5.52">monitor here so uh yeah we definitely</text><text start="158.459" dur="4.92">need to change that somehow can we go</text><text start="161.64" dur="4.319">okay is there a way to change the</text><text start="163.379" dur="4.08">resolution like without going through</text><text start="165.959" dur="4.14">the setup and waiting for it to install</text><text start="167.459" dur="5.761">Okay English American key map okay</text><text start="170.099" dur="5.761">actually I believe this is a live CD so</text><text start="173.22" dur="4.56">yeah we can just hit browse CD here and</text><text start="175.86" dur="4.14">yeah these are the contents of the CD so</text><text start="177.78" dur="5.039">we should be able to go</text><text start="180" dur="5.04">uh if I can find where the settings are</text><text start="182.819" dur="5.101">that would be super nice oh here</text><text start="185.04" dur="4.919">settings system okay here we go here we</text><text start="187.92" dur="5.22">go screens</text><text start="189.959" dur="5.941">um we want to edit this there we go</text><text start="193.14" dur="5.16">that's a lot better oh my gosh I can</text><text start="195.9" dur="4.74">actually like see what's on the screen</text><text start="198.3" dur="4.019">everything was so tiny before but yeah</text><text start="200.64" dur="3.42">so you know if you just want to like try</text><text start="202.319" dur="3.181">out more for us a little bit and get a</text><text start="204.06" dur="3">feel for what it is you could just kind</text><text start="205.5" dur="2.459">of explore it here but we're of course</text><text start="207.06" dur="2.399">going to go through with the</text><text start="207.959" dur="3.721">installation although now I've closed</text><text start="209.459" dur="5.341">out of the I've closed out of the</text><text start="211.68" dur="4.86">installer so let's we gotta find where</text><text start="214.8" dur="3.719">that is this is off to a wonderful start</text><text start="216.54" dur="4.74">isn't it geez you would think they would</text><text start="218.519" dur="5.22">have like a big install icon on the</text><text start="221.28" dur="3.9">desktop or just not let you close out of</text><text start="223.739" dur="3.601">the installer because I literally don't</text><text start="225.18" dur="5.22">like where do we have to go applications</text><text start="227.34" dur="5.34">maybe uh</text><text start="230.4" dur="4.86">um no no no no no no where is the</text><text start="232.68" dur="4.559">freaking installer at tools there it is</text><text start="235.26" dur="4.92">installer that's not the same thing</text><text start="237.239" dur="7.201">maybe I wizard is this it like I for</text><text start="240.18" dur="7.199">install nope that's not it WB startup is</text><text start="244.44" dur="6.299">it first flight there it is there it is</text><text start="247.379" dur="6.661">okay all right so let's go to this</text><text start="250.739" dur="6.12">installation oh okay this is okay so it</text><text start="254.04" dur="4.5">was eyewizard this is I just closed out</text><text start="256.859" dur="4.021">of it because it wasn't that initial</text><text start="258.54" dur="4.08">window that we got so it is eyewizard in</text><text start="260.88" dur="3">there okay great I always realized you</text><text start="262.62" dur="3.54">to pre-configure various system settings</text><text start="263.88" dur="3.72">set up Network accesses partition disks</text><text start="266.16" dur="3.479">blah blah blah</text><text start="267.6" dur="4.08">um if you were running morph OS like a</text><text start="269.639" dur="3.481">prior version you could go with the</text><text start="271.68" dur="3.36">update option down here of course that's</text><text start="273.12" dur="3.24">grayed out for us because we don't have</text><text start="275.04" dur="4.2">one so we're gonna go new installation</text><text start="276.36" dur="4.26">us English that's fine okay so we could</text><text start="279.24" dur="2.94">have just gone through the wizard and it</text><text start="280.62" dur="3.96">would give us the option to change our</text><text start="282.18" dur="3.78">uh resolution and display settings as</text><text start="284.58" dur="3.36">well so we didn't really have to do any</text><text start="285.96" dur="3.6">of that that I just went through and</text><text start="287.94" dur="4.979">then made everything more complicated</text><text start="289.56" dur="6.72">okay uh yes date and time that's correct</text><text start="292.919" dur="5.881">and you'll go the American key map Mouse</text><text start="296.28" dur="4.199">speed we'll we'll leave it kind of at</text><text start="298.8" dur="4.2">the default oh we got some different uh</text><text start="300.479" dur="3.66">options here I do like this red one yeah</text><text start="303" dur="2.94">we're gonna go with that though that</text><text start="304.139" dur="3.901">looks to be the default anyways so all</text><text start="305.94" dur="3.539">right next I do have an ethernet cable</text><text start="308.04" dur="3.599">plugged into this thing so it's</text><text start="309.479" dur="4.081">recognizing that here which is great</text><text start="311.639" dur="4.141">we're just gonna go with the automatic</text><text start="313.56" dur="3.359">option because it does recommend that if</text><text start="315.78" dur="3.479">you're installing it for the first time</text><text start="316.919" dur="4.621">which I am one thing of note is there's</text><text start="319.259" dur="4.681">no progress bar or any sort of</text><text start="321.54" dur="4.2">indication as to like how long it's</text><text start="323.94" dur="4.5">going to take or where it's at in the</text><text start="325.74" dur="4.98">copying process it does have a thing</text><text start="328.44" dur="4.74">down here of how many files that it's</text><text start="330.72" dur="4.44">copied over and how many kilobytes worth</text><text start="333.18" dur="3.72">of files that it's copied over but you</text><text start="335.16" dur="4.74">know it doesn't tell you the total so we</text><text start="336.9" dur="4.98">don't know exactly uh what that's going</text><text start="339.9" dur="4.68">to be and would you look at that it did</text><text start="341.88" dur="5.099">not take long at all like not even a</text><text start="344.58" dur="5.42">minute or two went by uh since my last</text><text start="346.979" dur="6.421">spoke to you guys so yeah we'll say okay</text><text start="350" dur="5.139">and I guess we just gotta restart so</text><text start="353.4" dur="5.94">we'll uh we'll close out of this we'll</text><text start="355.139" dur="6.441">eject the CD and we'll just go to let's</text><text start="359.34" dur="4.74">see how how do we restart shutdown</text><text start="361.58" dur="4.839">reboot there we go so there's the boot</text><text start="364.08" dur="4.619">screen pretty simple nice looking it</text><text start="366.419" dur="5.28">also has oh no it reset the resolution</text><text start="368.699" dur="4.861">again oh my gosh what on Earth is it</text><text start="371.699" dur="4.681">doing now look at this it's like the</text><text start="373.56" dur="6.359">entire screen like put up into a corner</text><text start="376.38" dur="7.68">oh geez okay so let's go to utilities</text><text start="379.919" dur="6.9">um let's go to or no settings system and</text><text start="384.06" dur="5.34">we'll have to modify this again okay</text><text start="386.819" dur="5.461">that's a lot better so here we are here</text><text start="389.4" dur="5.28">is morphos in all of its glory and like</text><text start="392.28" dur="4.139">I said I have not used this before I've</text><text start="394.68" dur="2.94">not explored this before this is kind of</text><text start="396.419" dur="3.421">one of those videos where I just wanted</text><text start="397.62" dur="4.26">to go into it blindly just to kind of</text><text start="399.84" dur="5.04">experience this uh for the first time</text><text start="401.88" dur="4.68">one thing that is rather interesting and</text><text start="404.88" dur="3.84">kind of odd is the way this menu bar</text><text start="406.56" dur="5.46">works up here so you have to right click</text><text start="408.72" dur="4.86">click to get these options and then you</text><text start="412.02" dur="2.94">get kind of like you have in you know</text><text start="413.58" dur="3.3">Mac OS where you've got like the menu</text><text start="414.96" dur="4.019">bar and all the options up there so it's</text><text start="416.88" dur="4.14">not up here permanently but like this is</text><text start="418.979" dur="4.5">not a button that you can click this is</text><text start="421.02" dur="4.98">not either you have to right click and</text><text start="423.479" dur="4.261">then yeah then it you know you can go</text><text start="426" dur="4.02">here or my morph OS there's a little</text><text start="427.74" dur="4.86">file browser we were just in we can go</text><text start="430.02" dur="3.84">into system and maybe browse the uh the</text><text start="432.6" dur="2.76">file structure a little bit here we've</text><text start="433.86" dur="3.24">got a readme file which is probably</text><text start="435.36" dur="4.38">going to be important to read and tells</text><text start="437.1" dur="5.28">you the supported graphics cards other</text><text start="439.74" dur="5.82">supported cards booting how to you know</text><text start="442.38" dur="6">make sure it boots properly installation</text><text start="445.56" dur="5.639">process how to upgrade how to report</text><text start="448.38" dur="4.259">bugs you got a quick FAQ here and it</text><text start="451.199" dur="3.181">does come with a decent amount of</text><text start="452.639" dur="3.96">programs like you saw earlier when we</text><text start="454.38" dur="4.08">were booting off the live CD there's a</text><text start="456.599" dur="4.681">lot of tools in here we go back into</text><text start="458.46" dur="4.739">utilities we've got a bunch of stuff in</text><text start="461.28" dur="3.359">here uh let's open up maybe the the</text><text start="463.199" dur="3.361">clock here this is like a little bit of</text><text start="464.639" dur="3.421">a widget that just appears on the</text><text start="466.56" dur="3.539">desktop you can kind of drag it around</text><text start="468.06" dur="4.859">whatever they the active application it</text><text start="470.099" dur="5.581">will show up here so ambient screen is</text><text start="472.919" dur="4.261">the name of the overarching GUI it's</text><text start="475.68" dur="3.66">actually just referred to as Ambience</text><text start="477.18" dur="5.579">but yeah when I click on the clock here</text><text start="479.34" dur="5.46">you see that it changes to clock 52.0 I</text><text start="482.759" dur="3.78">guess this is the 52nd iteration of the</text><text start="484.8" dur="3.72">clock application let's go to about</text><text start="486.539" dur="4.38">morph OS kind of read the about info</text><text start="488.52" dur="4.92">here so this is version 3.17 the latest</text><text start="490.919" dur="4.741">version as of me filming this video and</text><text start="493.44" dur="5.039">that's the other thing too about morphos</text><text start="495.66" dur="4.86">is this is a way if you have an old</text><text start="498.479" dur="4.321">Power PC Mac that for whatever reason</text><text start="500.52" dur="3.78">you need to use in the modern day this</text><text start="502.8" dur="4.079">is an operating system that could do</text><text start="504.3" dur="5.339">that for you it might be worth paying</text><text start="506.879" dur="4.621">the 79 Euros or whatever it is if you</text><text start="509.639" dur="3.541">you know have an actual use for it yeah</text><text start="511.5" dur="3.719">what I was saying earlier about you</text><text start="513.18" dur="4.26">having to download this demo version to</text><text start="515.219" dur="4.32">even register it there's no registration</text><text start="517.44" dur="4.56">thing on the website you have to</text><text start="519.539" dur="3.901">download the ISO file for morphos which</text><text start="522" dur="4.02">I know I've been saying that this is a</text><text start="523.44" dur="4.26">demo version but this is regular morphos</text><text start="526.02" dur="3.78">this is the Full Experience there's</text><text start="527.7" dur="4.319">nothing like the that won't run or</text><text start="529.8" dur="4.38">anything it's just that there is a Time</text><text start="532.019" dur="4.44">limitation kind of a built-in time bomb</text><text start="534.18" dur="3.9">that when you use it for I believe 30</text><text start="536.459" dur="2.82">minutes with it being unregistered it</text><text start="538.08" dur="3.3">will come up with a message that says</text><text start="539.279" dur="3.481">you have to register it to continue</text><text start="541.38" dur="3.54">using it and you do that by going</text><text start="542.76" dur="4.92">through the registration utility here</text><text start="544.92" dur="4.44">and you click on next and it says right</text><text start="547.68" dur="3.659">here software is initially time limited</text><text start="549.36" dur="3.3">up to two hours per boot okay so maybe</text><text start="551.339" dur="2.461">it's two hours I thought it was 30</text><text start="552.66" dur="2.96">minutes</text><text start="553.8" dur="4.979">um but yeah so he says You must register</text><text start="555.62" dur="4.899">and this is kind of the the downside and</text><text start="558.779" dur="4.441">a very important thing to note when you</text><text start="560.519" dur="5.101">purchase morphos it will create a unique</text><text start="563.22" dur="4.26">key file that is bound to this</text><text start="565.62" dur="4.02">particular machine that I've got it</text><text start="567.48" dur="4.74">installed on so you can't just transfer</text><text start="569.64" dur="4.08">it to another computer and the way it</text><text start="572.22" dur="3.059">works is you would fill out your</text><text start="573.72" dur="3.54">registration form here it would ask you</text><text start="575.279" dur="3.661">for your email address and then it would</text><text think</text><text start="622.44" dur="4.5">this is the mail client yeah I can tell</text><text start="624.72" dur="4.679">from the from the AD Sign there so there</text><text start="626.94" dur="5.28">is an email client I believe it's way</text><text start="629.399" dur="4.56">fairer this is it this is the browser so</text><text start="632.22" dur="3.239">we'll open this up here we get that same</text><text start="633.959" dur="4.621">kind of splash screen which we still</text><text start="635.459" dur="5.94">have for the email client here uh in the</text><text oh it's probably like doing</text><text start="645.42" dur="5.28">some first setup type stuff here looks</text><text start="648.12" dur="4.92">like it's got a ttf a few ttf files it's</text><text start="650.7" dur="3.42">loading up or copying somewhere okay and</text><text start="653.04" dur="3.299">that's something that I'm figuring out</text><text start="654.12" dur="3.959">here you have to double click on a</text><text start="656.339" dur="3.841">window when you want it to become the</text><text start="658.079" dur="4.021">window that's on top so like if I click</text><text start="660.18" dur="3.48">once on this it will make it the active</text><text start="662.1" dur="3.72">window you see the title bar changes</text><text start="663.66" dur="4.08">here but I have to double click on it to</text><text start="665.82" dur="4.62">bring it to the very front I guess while</text><text start="667.74" dur="4.2">it's doing that let's maybe browse the</text><text start="670.44" dur="3.06">drive a little bit more let's see what</text><text start="671.94" dur="4.019">else we got so we'll go to the system</text><text start="673.5" dur="4.68">here let's go back to those applications</text><text start="675.959" dur="6.301">yeah you've got a VNC server you've got</text><text start="678.18" dur="6.96">looks like a PDF program vpdf yeah so a</text><text start="682.26" dur="6.9">little PDF reader you've got uh you have</text><text start="685.14" dur="7.02">some VNC stuff LCD monitor test remote</text><text start="689.16" dur="4.5">shell Iris which is the mail client that</text><text start="692.16" dur="5.28">we're loading up there's a benchmark</text><text start="693.66" dur="6.06">utility or disk speed and gfx speed as</text><text start="697.44" dur="4.139">well and I gotta say this file browser</text><text start="699.72" dur="3.9">is pretty nice the way it gives you you</text><text start="701.579" dur="5.521">know your like directory breakdown here</text><text start="703.62" dur="5.76">you can easily jump back to the roots of</text><text start="707.1" dur="4.32">you know just my morphos but it doesn't</text><text start="709.38" dur="4.079">get rid of the path that you were just</text><text start="711.42" dur="4.44">in so like I can go back to gfx speed</text><text start="713.459" dur="3.961">it's only when I go to a different oh</text><text start="715.86" dur="4.2">and there's the email client it finally</text><text start="717.42" dur="4.2">started up look at that so yeah this</text><text start="720.06" dur="3.18">thing this is like a modern email client</text><text start="721.62" dur="3.48">I mean because this whole OS is still</text><text start="723.24" dur="3.12">maintained and developed to this day so</text><text start="725.1" dur="3.9">oh there's actually it looks like that</text><text start="726.36" dur="4.14">there's an update to uh Iris we'll just</text><text start="729" dur="3.899">skip it for now so yeah you could sign</text><text start="730.5" dur="4.079">in with Google uh you know right from</text><text start="732.899" dur="2.761">your from your Gmail account so it looks</text><text start="734.579" dur="3.541">like you don't have to configure like</text><text start="735.66" dur="3.66">mailbox settings and all that I'm sure</text><text start="738.12" dur="3.54">although I'm sure you could if you</text><text start="739.32" dur="5.16">wanted to at least I would hope uh oh</text><text start="741.66" dur="4.56">and here's Wayfarer okay so Wayfarer 4.8</text><text start="744.48" dur="2.94">is now available it looks like the</text><text start="746.22" dur="2.82">network is working it's loading the</text><text start="747.42" dur="3.479">morphos page let's go ahead and download</text><text start="749.04" dur="3.66">this new version I wonder how updates</text><text start="750.899" dur="4.801">are handled it looks like it made this</text><text start="752.7" dur="4.02">full screen uh we can kind of restore</text><text start="755.7" dur="3.36">that there</text><text start="756.72" dur="3.96">and maybe resize a little bit let's get</text><text start="759.06" dur="3.12">out of the mail client but yeah back to</text><text start="760.68" dur="4.14">what I was saying with the file browser</text><text start="762.18" dur="5.339">it's nice because it shows you your</text><text start="764.82" dur="4.8">entire file path until you change like I</text><text start="767.519" dur="4.44">was just in gfx speed if I go into disk</text><text start="769.62" dur="5.7">speed then this will change with this uh</text><text start="771.959" dur="5.82">layer or this tier of the directory that</text><text start="775.32" dur="4.259">we're in uh so like same thing if I'm in</text><text start="777.779" dur="4.201">applications and I go back up the system</text><text start="779.579" dur="4.26">and I go to classes that will now change</text><text start="781.98" dur="3.78">that is really really nice you've also</text><text start="783.839" dur="3.481">got some buttons up here for forward and</text><text start="785.76" dur="3.42">back you've got what I believe is like</text><text start="787.32" dur="4.44">an info thing and I guess they call</text><text start="789.18" dur="5.94">folders drawers because that's what yeah</text><text start="791.76" dur="4.56">Doc's drawer and applications drawer</text><text start="795.12" dur="3">yeah so I guess that's what they're</text><text start="796.32" dur="3.12">referring to folders as and something</text><text start="798.12" dur="3.48">else that I'm noticing is you cannot</text><text start="799.44" dur="5.579">drag Windows like off the screen it is</text><text start="801.6" dur="4.799">contained to the screen which could</text><text start="805.019" dur="2.521">honestly get kind of annoying if you're</text><text start="806.399" dur="2.461">running a little bit of a lower</text><text start="807.54" dur="3.66">resolution you want to just like move</text><text start="808.86" dur="4.08">this window out of the way and you know</text><text start="811.2" dur="5.16">have something else kind of like overlap</text><text start="812.94" dur="4.98">on top of it but you can just resize the</text><text start="816.36" dur="3.479">window and then be able to move it</text><text start="817.92" dur="3.9">around and we'll go ahead and make it I</text><text start="819.839" dur="4.44">think this is yeah this is making it</text><text start="821.82" dur="4.639">full screen and it does take over the</text><text start="824.279" dur="5.881">menu bar as well completely just</text><text start="826.459" dur="5.981">overlaps it so let's go ahead and uh</text><text start="830.16" dur="4.32">let's try to go to YouTube on here now</text><text start="832.44" dur="4.019">watching YouTube videos we'll go to my</text><text start="834.48" dur="4.32">my YouTube channel watching YouTube</text><text start="836.459" dur="4.44">videos on here is going to be limited by</text><text start="838.8" dur="5.339">the hardware itself oh yeah the browser</text><text start="840.899" dur="5.101">has kind of Frozen up here lovely lovely</text><text start="844.139" dur="4.14">lovely lovely oh there we go we got the</text><text start="846" dur="3.839">search bar but yeah I mean to be honest</text><text start="848.279" dur="3">like watching YouTube videos is</text><text start="849.839" dur="4.081">something you're probably not going to</text><text start="851.279" dur="4.261">be doing on morphos but what I did read</text><text start="853.92" dur="4.56">is that apparently you can use the</text><text start="855.54" dur="5.28">built-in media player and just like</text><text start="858.48" dur="4.799">stream YouTube videos directly to it and</text><text start="860.82" dur="4.38">the playback is much better of course it</text><text start="863.279" dur="3.541">does depend on what Hardware like you</text><text start="865.2" dur="4.56">know everything would be much better on</text><text start="866.82" dur="5.88">like a G5 like a power Mac G5 as opposed</text><text start="869.76" dur="4.8">to a G4 Cube here oh it finally</text><text start="872.7" dur="4.259">responded to me clicking the back button</text><text start="874.56" dur="5.88">earlier let's go to maybe Google let's</text><text start="876.959" dur="6.541">go to a bit of an easier website here</text><text start="880.44" dur="5.339">so there's Google oh so it does okay so</text><text start="883.5" dur="4.98">it's not like a I I wonder what this</text><text start="885.779" dur="5.481">browser is based on okay it is a webkit</text><text start="888.48" dur="4.799">based browser uh copyright</text><text start="891.26" dur="3.759">2020-2022. in fact it's kind of</text><text start="893.279" dur="4.081">reminding me of the Safari logo perhaps</text><text start="895.019" dur="3.901">that's why they uh went with it but you</text><text start="897.36" dur="3.479">can see here like this is not the modern</text><text start="898.92" dur="3.719">Google home page well it doesn't display</text><text start="900.839" dur="3.3">the mobile results page so that's</text><text start="902.639" dur="4.081">something let's try to go to my Twitter</text><text start="904.139" dur="5.82">oh it's doing something it's definitely</text><text start="906.72" dur="6.119">slow but it's it's chugging along</text><text start="909.959" dur="5.761">maybe it'll get there let's see oh there</text><text start="912.839" dur="5.821">we go so it does look like it has loaded</text><text start="915.72" dur="5.46">the mobile page and by loading I mean</text><text start="918.66" dur="4.859">almost loaded it's definitely lagging</text><text start="921.18" dur="4.08">along here but it did technically</text><text start="923.519" dur="4.201">display the page I actually wonder what</text><text start="925.26" dur="4.8">the if we go to the I think there is</text><text start="927.72" dur="5.34">like a system monitor here where we can</text><text start="930.06" dur="4.38">view the current CPU and memory load I</text><text start="933.06" dur="4.079">kind of wonder what this is looking like</text><text start="934.44" dur="5.339">here let's uh let's resize this window</text><text start="937.139" dur="5.101">oh yeah the CPU load is like super high</text><text start="939.779" dur="4.92">there oh yeah it spikes up immediately</text><text start="942.24" dur="4.56">so yeah the CPU is definitely having</text><text start="944.699" dur="3.541">some trouble here memory usage is pretty</text><text start="946.8" dur="5.279">good though we're hovering around 20</text><text start="948.24" dur="4.92">there bscp load is like maxing out uh so</text><text start="952.079" dur="3.12">yeah maybe you don't really want to</text><text start="953.16" dur="4.08">browse the web uh and go to Modern</text><text start="955.199" dur="3.841">websites on this thing I mean there's</text><text start="957.24" dur="3.3">plenty of other operating systems and</text><text start="959.04" dur="2.64">computers that you can do that on you're</text><text start="960.54" dur="4.08">going to have a much better experience</text><text start="961.68" dur="5.099">but I I just like to you know kind of</text><text start="964.62" dur="4.32">just mess around with stuff honestly and</text><text start="966.779" dur="4.5">just kind of experiment with things see</text><text start="968.94" dur="4.8">what works and what doesn't uh oh and</text><text start="971.279" dur="3.721">look at that Wayfarer crashed as we were</text><text start="973.74" dur="3.599">trying to close it all right we'll just</text><text start="975" dur="4.38">ignore that for now but oh yeah so a</text><text start="977.339" dur="3.721">nice little system monitor uh utility</text><text start="979.38" dur="3.12">here we'll maybe resize that a little</text><text start="981.06" dur="3.42">bit and have it down here at the bottom</text><text start="982.5" dur="3.959">let's actually look at the games so</text><text start="984.48" dur="3.299">we've got diamonds which I wonder if</text><text start="986.459" dur="2.82">it's going to be like Bejeweled or</text><text start="987.779" dur="3.841">something oh we got to beat Albert</text><text start="989.279" dur="3.961">Einstein's high score all right so I'm</text><text start="991.62" dur="3.42">I'm sure we've all played games like</text><text start="993.24" dur="4.98">this before but actually I wonder what</text><text start="995.04" dur="6.84">if we um we open this up here and we go</text><text start="998.22" dur="6.66">to about let's see puzzle with lots of</text><text start="1001.88" dur="4.079">shiny gems and so there's the developers</text><text start="1004.88" dur="3.12">of it</text><text start="1005.959" dur="4.8">it's got a bunch of translations as well</text><text start="1008" dur="5.88">got a few other games here pixel cross I</text><text start="1010.759" dur="5.82">wonder what this is it opens up in a too</text><text start="1013.88" dur="4.62">small of a window warning this game</text><text start="1016.579" dur="4.141">might be addictive all right we'll start</text><text start="1018.5" dur="3.36">the tutorial welcome to pixel cross the</text><text start="1020.72" dur="2.82">tour mode the following Pages we'll</text><text start="1021.86" dur="3.719">demonstrate how to play this game blah</text><text start="1023.54" dur="3.72">blah use next to continue okay</text><text start="1025.579" dur="3.24">small thinking game is a combination of</text><text start="1027.26" dur="3.24">a crossword puzzle without words and</text><text start="1028.819" dur="3.421">Sudoku using pictures instead of numbers</text><text start="1030.5" dur="3.419">the main task is to uncover dur="3.061">were getting into pixel cross so</text><text start="1037.939" dur="3.48">technically we can still use this system</text><text start="1039.38" dur="4.199">it says it will slow down soon and it</text><text start="1041.419" dur="5.04">does mention I was kind of wondering uh</text><text start="1043.579" dur="5.701">about if it would reset when you reboot</text><text start="1046.459" dur="4.861">the system it does mention that in the</text><text start="1049.28" dur="5.22">like let's go back to my morph OS here</text><text start="1051.32" dur="6.66">and we go to system and uh what was it</text><text start="1054.5" dur="6.72">utilities and it was the activation</text><text start="1057.98" dur="4.8">or the reg tool here up to two hours per</text><text start="1061.22" that</text><text start="1067.94" dur="3.359">um so maybe it used to be two hours and</text><text start="1069.679" dur="3">then they've like lowered it or maybe it</text><text start="1071.299" dur="2.941">does actually vary depending on what</text><text start="1072.679" dur="3.961">version of the OS that you're running</text><text start="1074.24" dur="3.9">yeah it'll just slow the system down I</text><text start="1076.64" dur="3.12">guess to the point where it's not usable</text><text start="1078.14" dur="3.06">so it says you know it like gives you</text><text
