it was</text><text start="18.88" dur="7.68">was conceived in the the 1970s so it&amp;#39;s</text><text start="22.48" dur="5.68">over 40 years old now the deer program</text><text start="26.56" dur="3.68">it&amp;#39;s an acronym</text><text start="28.16" dur="4.079">standing for development education and</text><text start="30.24" dur="5.2">awareness raising and</text><text start="32.239" dur="5.361">the overall aim of this uh program is to</text><text start="35.44" dur="4.32">develop european citizens</text><text start="37.6" dur="3.92">awareness and also their their critical</text><text start="39.76" dur="2.799">understanding of the sustainable</text><text start="41.52" dur="3.519">development</text><text start="42.559" dur="4.401">and also the the global challenges or</text><text start="45.039" dur="4.961">transformational challenges</text><text start="46.96" dur="4.72">that we face in a globalized world</text><text start="50" dur="4.48">one of the kind of the important aspects</text><text start="51.68" dur="5.68">of this uh program is we try to</text><text start="54.48" dur="4.28">make citizens aware of also their</text><text start="57.36" dur="5.519">individual roles and its</text><text start="58.76" dur="7.719">responsibilities uh towards these</text><text start="62.879" dur="6.481">these global challenges um</text><text start="66.479" dur="5.041">so yeah uh and and it&amp;#39;s our only uh</text><text start="69.36" dur="4.16">global development program</text><text start="71.52" dur="3.2">that we have in the eu that&amp;#39;s focused</text><text start="73.52" dur="3.52">primarily</text><text start="74.72" dur="3.12">on eu citizens so that&amp;#39;s makes it kind</text><text start="77.04" dur="3.52">of unique</text><text start="77.84" dur="2.72">for our dg</text><text start="83.04" dur="3.68">the most important one would be through</text><text start="84.84" dur="4.52">our call for proposals</text><text start="86.72" dur="4.24">which is open to to civil society and</text><text start="89.36" dur="3.36">local authorities</text><text start="90.96" dur="3.04">and but we also have some some some</text><text start="92.72" dur="4.32">direct awards</text><text start="94" dur="6.079">um these these projects are</text><text start="97.04" dur="4.48">such a vast diversity of types of</text><text start="100.079" dur="3.68">projects</text><text start="101.52" dur="3.52">uh whether it&amp;#39;s you know our campaigning</text><text start="103.759" dur="3.521">and advocacy ones and</text><text start="105.04" dur="3.52">all of those type of actions or global</text><text start="107.28" dur="4.64">learning ones for the</text><text start="108.56" dur="6.48">doing actions in formal education uh</text><text start="111.92" dur="5.839">in non-formal education</text><text start="115.04" dur="5.039">and you know you can have workshops uh</text><text start="117.759" dur="4.801">all forms of capacity building actions</text><text start="120.079" dur="5.281">we have performances field trips we have</text><text start="122.56" dur="5.759">reports we have scg watchdogs</text><text start="125.36" dur="4.959">it&amp;#39;s it&amp;#39;s truly endless a vast array of</text><text start="128.319" dur="5.601">different different actions</text><text start="130.319" dur="3.601">so yeah that&amp;#39;s that&amp;#39;s the deer program</text><text start="136.319" dur="3.521">the european consensus development</text><text start="137.68" dur="4.32">recognizes young people as important</text><text start="139.84" dur="4.32">agents of development and change</text><text start="142" dur="4.08">and therefore as contributors to the the</text><text start="144.16" dur="5.12">2030 agenda</text><text start="146.08" dur="5.84">and the deer program walks the talk on</text><text start="149.28" dur="4.319">this if you will</text><text start="151.92" dur="3.2">so so that&amp;#39;s some of the thinking</text><text start="153.599" dur="4.881">thinking</text><text start="155.12" dur="6.32">behind it we also see youth as as also</text><text start="158.48" dur="4.72">uh the best uh bang for our buck in</text><text start="161.44" dur="4.72">senses they</text><text start="163.2" dur="3.52">you know as the recent euro barometers</text><text start="166.16" dur="2.88">have</text><text start="166.72" dur="3.76">shown youth are also the most open to</text><text start="169.04" dur="4.8">new ideas open to</text><text start="170.48" dur="6.08">to to to to dur="3.441">the most adapt to that so we</text><text start="180" dur="3.68">there&amp;#39;s many reasons why they we</text><text start="181.76" dur="3.52">recognize them as our best
