time</text><text start="25.76" dur="4.88">and i was pretty happy about that but at</text><text start="28.4" dur="3.199">some point i just felt like well virtual</text><text start="30.64" dur="3.28">box probably</text><text start="31.599" dur="4.321">like not the best tool to use for that</text><text start="33.92" dur="3.68">it's just my experience that virtualbox</text><text start="35.92" dur="4.4">was not very suitable for that</text><text start="37.6" dur="3.36">so i installed this one in vmware fusion</text><text start="40.32" dur="3.6">on mac</text><text start="40.96" dur="3.52">and it was working great except one</text><text start="43.92" dur="2.4">thing</text><text start="44.48" dur="3.759">sound card as you can see this is the</text><text start="46.32" dur="4.879">configuration file firmware</text><text start="48.239" dur="4.64">sound card set to sound blaster 16 so</text><text start="51.199" dur="3.04">probably you just need to customize it a</text><text start="52.879" dur="3.281">little bit more and probably will be</text><text start="54.239" dur="3.441">able to use it just fine but for some</text><text start="56.16" dur="1.84">reason i don't know the sound card</text><text start="57.68" dur="3.679">doesn't</text><text start="58" dur="6.159">work but the video driver is just fine</text><text start="61.359" dur="3.601">so i was able to allocate 256 megabytes</text><text start="64.159" dur="3.601">of memory</text><text start="64.96" dur="3.839">of video memory to the vmware and i was</text><text operating</text><text start="74.159" dur="2.401">system so let's actually go ahead and</text><text start="75.759" dur="2.641">check this out</text><text start="76.56" dur="3.84">first of all talking about resolution if</text><text start="78.4" dur="3.68">we go here if you go to the screen so</text><text start="80.4" dur="3.44">this is the resolution i have right here</text><text start="82.08" dur="2.8">and this is the panorama driver so if</text><text start="83.84" dur="3.12">you want some good</text><text start="84.88" dur="3.68">resolution install the panorama driver i</text><text start="86.96" dur="3.28">mean there's not much options but</text><text start="88.56" dur="3.44">panorama driver is good so this is the</text><text start="90.24" dur="4">screen resolution and it's</text><text start="92" dur="4.32">just fine i mean i actually starting to</text><text start="94.24" dur="4">love this os i should say the last time</text><text start="96.32" dur="3.759">we've been trying this one it felt like</text><text start="98.24" dur="3.36">a little bit off but right now i'm just</text><text start="100.079" dur="3.281">starting to like it uh the only thing</text><text start="101.6" dur="3.519">that i changed is that luckily so</text><text start="103.36" dur="2.24">basically luckily i said this one to</text><text start="105.119" dur="2">russian</text><text start="105.6" dur="2.96">the reason why i said this one to</text><text start="107.119" dur="3.36">russian is that basically i wanted</text><text start="108.56" dur="3.68">applications to support russian language</text><text start="110.479" dur="2.64">russian the khalid because remember this</text><text start="112.24" dur="3.12">is the os</text><text start="113.119" dur="4">from before 2000 basically which means</text><text start="115.36" dur="3.68">there's unicode support but for</text><text start="117.119" dur="4.161">non-unicode application it still relies</text><text start="119.04" dur="3.28">on that old kind of code pages and all</text><text start="121.28" dur="2.879">that so that's why</text><text start="122.32" dur="3.6">i just said look at it russian it</text><text start="124.159" dur="3.121">actually brought some confusion and i'll</text><text start="125.92" dur="3.039">show you later what does it mean</text><text start="127.28" dur="3.679">first thing i wanted to show you is this</text><text start="128.959" dur="4.321">one if you want to press ctrl</text><text start="130.959" dur="4">alt delete this is what you're gonna see</text><text start="133.28" dur="2.4">it's something similar to what you see</text><text start="134.959" dur="3.521">in windows</text><text start="135.68" dur="4.08">like 95 98 like the blue screen but this</text><text start="138.48" dur="3.44">one has much more options</text><text start="139.76" dur="3.76">although those options are in russian</text><text start="141.92" dur="3.44">and that's what i told you so once i</text><text start="143.52" dur="3.84">switched the luckily to russian it</text><text start="145.36" dur="3.599">started to show some things in russian</text><text start="147.36" dur="3.04">some things in english which is totally</text><text start="148.959" dur="3.121">confusing i don't know why this all</text><text start="150.4" dur="3.44">happens uh so i'm gonna press g</text><text start="152.08" dur="3.92">and it's showing the list of running</text><text start="153.84" dur="5.44">processes here what we have have escape</text><text start="156" dur="4.16">to exit filter refresh close kill the</text><text start="159.28" dur="2.16">process basically</text><text start="160.16" dur="2.88">we are able to just manipulate the</text><text start="161.44" dur="3.36">process like we want let's go ahead and</text><text start="163.04" dur="4">press escape and escape again and we're</text><text start="164.8" dur="4.079">going back to arc os a really nice way</text><text start="167.04" dur="3.44">to control the processes with one other</text><text start="168.879" dur="2.64">option for example if you open the</text><text start="170.48" dur="3.119">terminal session</text><text start="171.519" dur="3.121">and if you press top you're able to see</text><text start="173.599" dur="2.561">the list of processors</text><text start="174.64" dur="3.519">like this and you're just able to</text><text start="176.16" dur="3.28">manipulate those as well i mean this is</text><text start="178.159" dur="3.041">cool right guys</text><text start="179.44" dur="3.84">as i said i'm just starting to love this</text><text start="181.2" dur="4.16">os the first thing i wanted to show you</text><text start="183.28" dur="4.319">is the youtube playback because i</text><text start="185.36" dur="4.159">remember i kind of discussed this one in</text><text start="187.599" dur="2.961">the previous video but i wanted to show</text><text start="189.519" dur="2.881">you this one in</text><text start="190.56" dur="3.759">in action so let's go ahead and open</text><text start="192.4" dur="4.32">firefox let's type great i'm</text><text start="199.36" dur="4.08">pretty sure on a regular machine like</text><text start="201.36" dur="4.4">not in virtualbox it's gonna be</text><text start="203.44" dur="4.56">working just fine let's open this one as</text><text start="205.76" dur="3.6">you can see it starts video just fine so</text><text start="208" dur="3.92">it just works basically</text><text start="209.36" dur="4.799">and it's playing this one in hd it might</text><text start="211.92" dur="4.08">be a bit glitchy in some spots</text><text start="214.159" dur="3.281">i don't know but it still it just works</text><text start="216" dur="3.12">fine and i'm pretty sure on the regular</text><text start="217.44" dur="2.799">machine is gonna work just fine it's</text><text start="219.12" dur="3.199">just because i'm just</text><text start="220.239" dur="4.161">doing the screen grab as well as just</text><text start="222.319" dur="3.601">like running this one in a virtual</text><text start="224.4" dur="2.479">machine right let's go ahead and open</text><text start="225.92" dur="3.2">some other video</text><text start="226.879" dur="4.161">how about we open this video for example</text><text start="229.12" dur="3.759">yeah i mean after a while it starts</text><text start="231.04" dur="3.36">working fine but probably because i'm</text><text start="232.879" dur="2.961">doing the screen grab is just like</text><text start="234.4" dur="3.119">making it a bit slow</text><text start="235.84" dur="3.44">but for example let's switch the</text><text start="237.519" dur="4.8">resolution to something</text><text start="239.28" dur="5.28">lower oh wait this is just a 480p</text><text start="242.319" dur="4.401">i don't know i saw it playing in hd in</text><text start="244.56" dur="4.08">1080p just fine but definitely i need to</text><text start="246.72" dur="3.76">check this out on a real hardware so i</text><text start="248.64" dur="3.36">mean it's working i remember guys you</text><text start="250.48" dur="3.44">mentioned in the comments that i should</text><text start="252" dur="4">be able to install a more recent version</text><text start="253.92" dur="4.08">of firefox but it seems like the 45 is</text><text start="256" dur="4.56">the latest version available for the</text><text start="258" dur="4.4">os2 arc os income station for all those</text><text start="260.56" dur="3.04">operating systems so i'm out of options</text><text start="262.4" dur="3.2">here this is the last one</text><text start="263.6" dur="4.08">i've heard that there's some progress</text><text start="265.6" dur="4.159">going on on making some chromium kind of</text><text start="267.68" dur="3.76">browser for os2 and we might see this</text><text start="269.759" dur="3.361">one in the future so let's see if</text><text start="271.44" dur="3.28">there's some good development going on</text><text start="273.12" dur="3.84">in the future on something more modern</text><text start="274.72" dur="3.68">for the archos os2 let's go ahead and</text><text start="276.96" dur="3.44">check out the applications that we have</text><text start="278.4" dur="3.2">right here so if we open the programs</text><text start="280.4" dur="2.88">installed applications</text><text start="281.6" dur="3.2">what we're going to see so the first one</text><text start="283.28" dur="2.4">for example this one this is the</text><text start="284.8" dur="2.32">calculator</text><text start="285.68" dur="3.92">and this is actually quite a cool</text><text start="287.12" dur="4.799">calculator i mean it looks nice i mean</text><text start="289.6" dur="4.48">it's like it feels something from that</text><text start="291.919" dur="4.321">old times i don't know from 90s i know i</text><text start="294.08" dur="4.24">just like it oh it's written on rex and</text><text start="296.24" dur="3.2">rex as far as i know it's just like some</text><text start="298.32" dur="4.08">scripting language</text><text start="299.44" dur="4.16">for the os2 slash archois and by the way</text><text start="302.4" dur="3.44">all those apps have</text><text start="303.6" dur="3.84">nice manuals for example remember like</text><text start="305.84" dur="4.079">before the internet there was like</text><text start="307.44" dur="3.84">lots of manuals floating around and you</text><text start="309.919" dur="3.201">like you don't have much uh</text><text start="311.28" dur="3.759">information around the web you just like</text><text start="313.12" dur="2.96">was relying on those tutorials another</text><text start="315.039" dur="3.761">thing that we have here</text><text start="316.08" dur="4.399">is the audience and odin as you remember</text><text start="318.8" dur="3.6">i think i covered this one a little bit</text><text start="320.479" dur="4.081">in the previous videos about os2</text><text start="322.4" dur="3.92">it's just basically something like wine</text><text start="324.56" dur="2.8">it's like a simulation layer which</text><text start="326.32" dur="4.48">allows you to run</text><text start="327.36" dur="5.52">win 32 applications on os2 rcos ecom</text><text start="330.8" dur="4">station this is like again nice manual</text><text start="332.88" dur="3.759">here i was actually discovering like</text><text start="334.8" dur="4.399">what apps can i run on this one</text><text start="336.639" dur="3.12">and looks like it's not much for example</text><text start="339.199" dur="2.321">this</text><text start="339.759" dur="3.44">says like some popular windows programs</text><text start="341.52" dur="3.84">that usually again that</text><text start="343.199" dur="3.601">usually work for example freestyle adobe</text><text start="345.36" dur="4.32">acrobat real player</text><text start="346.8" dur="3.679">low tooth notes bomb desktop and just a</text><text start="349.68" dur="3.12">few apps</text><text start="350.479" dur="3.041">it doesn't seem a lot still the idea is</text><text start="352.8" dur="2.399">quite nice</text><text start="353.52" dur="3.679">so i mean i like this whole</text><text start="355.199" dur="2.241">representation like this idea of running</text><text start="357.199" dur="2.641">the</text><text start="357.44" dur="4.24">windows applications on os2 we're gonna</text><text start="359.84" dur="3.28">see if this idea is actually going to</text><text start="361.68" dur="3.04">get better in the future</text><text start="363.12" dur="3.12">so far it's just like i don't know i've</text><text start="364.72" dur="3.039">been trying to run some apps</text><text start="366.24" dur="3.04">it didn't work i probably need to</text><text start="367.759" dur="4.081">discover this more and we</text><text start="369.28" dur="4.4">probably gonna try this in a later part</text><text start="371.84" dur="2.32">stay tuned and please subscribe to this</text><text start="373.68" dur="2">channel</text><text start="374.16" dur="2.64">we're gonna discover it more another</text><text start="375.68" dur="1.84">thing that i wanted to discuss for</text><text start="376.8" dur="2.72">example this one</text><text start="377.52" dur="3.2">iso fs file system what is that</text><text start="379.52" dur="2.799">basically again just</text><text start="380.72" dur="3.44">if you open the help file it just says</text><text start="382.319" dur="5.281">the installable file system for us tool</text><text start="384.16" dur="6.4">to read only access for iso image files</text><text start="387.6" dur="4.159">burning cds and stuff like that so if we</text><text start="390.56" dur="2.96">launch this one</text><text start="391.759" dur="3.681">i think it just allows you to mount</text><text start="393.52" dur="4.64">drives i think it's gonna be useful</text><text start="395.44" dur="4.16">for mounting iso images another useful</text><text start="398.16" dur="3.84">utility which you're gonna find in</text><text start="399.6" dur="4.8">utilities folder is the archive tool</text><text start="402" dur="4">but as you can see since i switched the</text><text start="404.4" dur="2.079">luckily of the operating system to</text><text start="406" dur="3.28">russian</text><text start="406.479" dur="4.56">it has all those options in reversion</text><text start="409.28" dur="2.319">and again it's just like a crazy mix</text><text start="411.039" dur="2.72">between</text><text start="411.599" dur="4.081">russian and english here but archive</text><text start="413.759" dur="3.84">tool works fine i'm able to open</text><text start="415.68" dur="3.84">zip archives at least now there are</text><text start="417.599" dur="3.121">archives are not working so the zip</text><text start="419.52" dur="3.2">archives are working fine</text><text start="420.72" dur="3.599">another app that i especially love is</text><text start="422.72" dur="3.199">this one enhanced editor</text><text start="424.319" dur="3.841">so if you open this one you just feel</text><text start="425.919" dur="4.4">like yeah you're like in the 90s this it just</text><text start="434" dur="3.919">feels so nice</text><text start="435.28" dur="3.12">cool so great no discard if you want</text><text start="437.919" dur="2.881">something</text><text start="438.4" dur="4.56">more simple here's a text editor and</text><text start="440.8" dur="3.119">this is like a typical text editor very</text><text start="442.96" dur="2.56">very simple one</text><text start="443.919" dur="3.041">in the previous video i showed you</text><text start="445.52" dur="3.2">actually the toolbar and</text><text start="446.96" dur="3.6">ecom station video i showed the toolbar</text><text start="448.72" dur="3.36">and if you open this it shows this</text><text start="450.56" dur="3.199">you're pretty much familiar with this</text><text
