all</text><text start="209.28" dur="2.56">set up</text><text start="210.08" dur="3.68">now i do believe the default window</text><text start="211.84" dur="2.56">manager it's going to be using use</text><text start="217.92" dur="3.92">kwim now we can see quite clearly the</text><text start="220.4" dur="3.119">mac os kind of</text><text start="221.84" dur="3.52">inspired look and feel of the desktop</text><text start="223.519" dur="3.761">itself with the panel at the top</text><text start="225.36" dur="3.2">with the system-wide global menu and</text><text start="227.28" dur="2.64">clock to the right</text><text start="228.56" dur="3.679">and then we have our dock at the bottom</text><text start="229.92" dur="4.56">and even our icons are positioned to the</text><text start="232.239" dur="4">right hand side of the screen</text><text start="234.48" dur="4.319">now we'll start at the top of the screen</text><text start="236.239" dur="4.481">with our panel so we have our clock here</text><text start="238.799" dur="3.681">so clicking on it doesn't really appear</text><text start="240.72" dur="3.04">to do anything and that's with left and</text><text start="242.48" dur="3.2">right clicks</text><text start="243.76" dur="4.399">although it has actually activated the</text><text start="245.68" dur="3.68">search bar so i guess clicking any free</text><text start="248.159" dur="2.481">space on the panel</text><text start="249.36" dur="2.64">will then go ahead and open up your</text><text start="250.64" dur="2.56">search bar which we'll have a look at in</text><text start="252" dur="3.12">just a moment</text><text start="253.2" dur="3.84">and then we have our global menus we've</text><text start="255.12" dur="3.28">got nothing open at the moment as far as</text><text start="257.04" dur="3.039">applications</text><text start="258.4" dur="3.76">so we can just jump straight into about</text><text start="260.079" dur="3.041">this computer and we can see that we are</text><text start="262.16" dur="4.24">using</text><text start="263.12" dur="5.519">3sp version 12.2</text><text start="266.4" dur="3.92">okay now the dock itself it doesn't</text><text start="268.639" dur="3.361">appear to have any sort of right-click</text><text start="270.32" dur="3.84">options to edit the dock</text><text start="272" dur="3.68">but if we click on an application we can</text><text start="274.16" dur="3.84">choose to remove that</text><text start="275.68" dur="3.68">applications icon from the dock so i'm</text><text start="278" dur="3.28">going to imagine it's the same if you've</text><text start="279.36" dur="3.6">got a new application open</text><text start="281.28" dur="3.84">you can right click and then pin it but</text><text start="282.96" dur="3.76">we'll test that out in just a moment</text><text start="285.12" dur="3.12">now right clicking on the desktop will</text><text start="286.72" dur="4.479">let you create a new folder so we have</text><text start="288.24" dur="4.48">full desktop kind of icons so like so</text><text start="291.199" dur="2.801">and then we have our new folder right</text><text start="292.72" dur="3.28">there and now we can just right click</text><text start="294" dur="3.84">that and delete it by moving to</text><text start="296" dur="3.36">trash and now if we go ahead and open up</text><text start="297.84" dur="2.96">our trash there's that new folder that</text><text start="299.36" dur="3.119">we have just created so let's go ahead</text><text start="300.8" dur="3.2">and delete that now to completely empty</text><text start="302.479" dur="4.961">it from our system</text><text start="304" dur="5.199">yes okay now we can also go</text><text start="307.44" dur="3.199">straight into the desktop preferences</text><text start="309.199" dur="2.72">here as well</text><text start="310.639" dur="2.721">so here is where you can change your</text><text start="311.919" dur="3.601">wallpaper mode so the currently</text><text start="313.36" dur="3.679">stretched to fill the entire screen</text><text start="315.52" dur="4.32">then you can fill with just a background</text><text start="317.039" dur="4.16">color stretch to fit center and tile</text><text start="319.84" dur="3.12">and then just beneath it is where you</text><text start="321.199" dur="4">can actually choose your own background</text><text start="322.96" dur="3.84">image and there is the color selector as</text><text start="325.199" dur="3.041">well as the label text</text><text start="326.8" dur="4.08">and then in the advanced we have the</text><text start="328.24" dur="4.88">window manager show menus provided by</text><text start="330.88" dur="3.92">window managers when desktop is clicked</text><text start="333.12" dur="4.079">and then we can change the location of</text><text start="334.8" dur="4.88">the desktop folder itself</text><text start="337.199" dur="3.84">okay cool let's close that one off so</text><text start="339.68" dur="2.88">what i want to do is just open up a</text><text start="341.039" dur="1.921">couple of applications and see if we</text><text start="342.56" dur="3.44">have</text><text start="342.96" dur="5.92">side by side snapping by dragging it</text><text start="346" dur="5.6">to the other sides of our screens so we</text><text start="348.88" dur="4.4">don't appear to so let's close that off</text><text start="351.6" dur="3.84">now while we've got nothing open if we</text><text start="353.28" dur="3.6">open up the tool section we can also</text><text start="355.44" dur="3.44">open the terminal straight from the</text><text start="356.88" dur="3.439">global menu by either clicking that</text><text start="358.88" dur="4.4">button or as well as pressing</text><text start="360.319" dur="3.921">f4 will do the same thing now we can</text><text start="363.28" dur="3.039">also go to help</text><text start="364.24" dur="3.04">anabel and now let's test out this</text><text start="366.319" dur="3.521">search bar</text><text start="367.28" dur="4">so i'm not too sure what our actual file</text><text start="369.84" dur="2.799">manager is called so we're going to test</text><text start="371.28" dur="2.8">this out with the web browser which is</text><text start="372.639" dur="3.601">installed out of the box</text><text start="374.08" dur="3.76">which is falcon and as you can see it's</text><text start="376.24" dur="2.72">just dropped a little label down below</text><text start="377.84" dur="3.84">letting us know that all</text><text start="378.96" dur="4.32">in space will activate the search bar</text><text start="381.68" dur="3.76">for us as well so let's go ahead and</text><text start="383.28" dur="3.28">test this out with falcon now</text><text start="385.44" dur="3.28">and there we go it's going to go</text><text start="386.56" dur="3.68">straight to the falcon application</text><text start="388.72" dur="3.759">and while we're in here let's just type</text><text start="390.24" dur="4">in something like file</text><text start="392.479" dur="4">and see what options that gives us as</text><text start="394.24" dur="4.079">well so it gives us some applications</text><text start="396.479" dur="4.881">options to find the android file</text><text start="398.319" dur="3.761">transfer tool with mtp or we can also</text><text start="401.36" dur="3.2">get info</text><text start="402.08" dur="4.08">or go into tool and find files itself</text><text start="404.56" dur="3.84">okay that's very cool</text><text start="406.16" dur="4">let's close that off and then we also</text><text start="408.4" dur="2.639">have the option to find files here using</text><text start="410.16" dur="3.2">control and</text><text start="411.039" dur="3.681">f so i think what we should probably go</text><text start="413.36" dur="2.959">ahead and do is have a look at some of</text><text start="414.72" dur="2.4">the default applications installed out</text><text start="416.319" dur="2.561">of the box</text><text start="417.12" dur="3.28">and start playing around with things so</text><text start="418.88" dur="2.96">pressing on system we've got all of our</text><text start="420.4" dur="2.48">applications categories and then</text><text start="421.84" dur="2.479">hovering over them</text><text start="422.88" dur="3.12">we'll then expand it to show you the</text><text start="424.319" dur="2.72">rest of the applications inside that</text><text start="426" dur="3.199">category</text><text start="427.039" dur="4.081">so in just applications we have falcon</text><text start="429.199" dur="5.201">which is of course our web browser</text><text start="431.12" dur="6.16">featherpad elector and qpdf view</text><text start="434.4" dur="4">now in 3d printing we have freecad</text><text start="437.28" dur="3.52">process slicer</text><text start="438.4" dur="3.919">ultimaker cura now the last time i</text><text start="440.8" dur="2.959">checked out hello system in a virtual</text><text start="442.319" dur="3.121">machine a lot of these applications</text><text start="443.759" dur="3.201">weren't actually installed</text><text start="445.44" dur="4.479">and i'll show you just what i mean in a</text><text start="446.96" dur="3.2">moment now for audio we have audacity</text><text start="449.919" dur="2.72">and</text><text start="450.16" dur="3.84">lmms which is like a digital audio</text><text start="452.639" dur="3.84">workstation</text><text start="454" dur="3.52">and in developer we have light ide</text><text start="456.479" dur="4.16">pycharm ce</text><text start="457.52" dur="5.679">q hex edit qt creator and azil</text><text start="460.639" dur="4">and then in developer preview we have</text><text start="463.199" dur="3.28">and these are all developments or</text><text start="464.639" dur="3.441">preview applications that aren't quite</text><text start="466.479" dur="4">fully ready yet but we'll check some of</text><text start="468.08" dur="4.399">them out so we have disk first aid and</text><text start="470.479" dur="4.4">we have their own disk utility app</text><text start="472.479" dur="4.641">and as you can see here this application</text><text start="474.879" dur="4.88">is a preview for developers and is not</text><text start="477.12" dur="4.24">fully functional yet so do expect to run</text><text start="479.759" dur="3.521">into the odd problem</text><text start="481.36" dur="3.6">as we can see here it's a pretty simple</text><text start="483.28" dur="3.039">and standard way to manage your drives</text><text start="484.96" dur="3.2">and partitions</text><text start="486.319" dur="3.921">not too dissimilar from applications</text><text start="488.16" dur="4.159">such as g parted</text><text start="490.24" dur="4">and while we've got this window open we</text><text start="492.319" dur="2.32">can see that we have two buttons we have</text><text start="494.24" dur="2.88">a</text><text start="494.639" dur="4.24">maximize button and when we do that the</text><text start="497.12" dur="3.6">dock stays then the other button is just to</text><text start="503.52" dur="3.6">close so we have no minimize button</text><text start="505.759" dur="2.88">so i'm going to imagine what we're going</text><text start="507.12" dur="2.72">to do to minimize it is click the</text><text start="508.639" dur="3.041">applications icon</text><text start="509.84" dur="3.04">on the dock and then that's going to go</text><text start="511.68" dur="2.64">ahead and sort of</text><text start="512.88" dur="2.48">put it back there and then clicking it</text><text start="514.32" dur="3.04">again we can then restore the</text><text start="515.36" dur="3.84">application and there's a nice little</text><text start="517.36" dur="3.919">sort of fades transition as it comes</text><text start="519.2" dur="4.24">back and repaints the window</text><text start="521.279" dur="3.201">now as we've got disk utility open let's</text><text start="523.44" dur="2.72">right click on it</text><text start="524.48" dur="3.039">and see how easy it is to pin the</text><text start="526.16" dur="3.04">application to our dock</text><text start="527.519" dur="3.921">so as you can see there we can now keep</text><text start="529.2" dur="4.24">disk utility in dock like so</text><text start="531.44" dur="3.68">and now when we close disk utility we</text><text start="533.44" dur="2.959">can then just relaunch it straight from</text><text start="535.12" dur="2.96">within here</text><text start="536.399" dur="3.681">however we appear to have run into a</text><text start="538.08" dur="4.4">problem with that so we could not launch</text><text start="540.08" dur="4.64">the applications developer</text><text start="542.48" dur="4.08">okay that's interesting so let's just</text><text start="544.72" dur="3.84">remove that from our dot for nail then</text><text start="546.56" dur="3.04">and we won't worry about that right this</text><text start="548.56" dur="3.04">second</text><text start="549.6" dur="3.6">now as well as disk utility we have</text><text start="551.6" dur="2.239">energy saving let's have a quick look at</text><text start="553.2" dur="2.16">that</text><text start="553.839" dur="3.601">again it's giving you the warning about</text><text start="555.36" dur="4.159">being a developer preview</text><text start="557.44" dur="4.079">and here we can see just a very simple</text><text start="559.519" dur="3.601">application to slide</text><text start="561.519" dur="3.361">to a different time interval to choose</text><text start="563.12" dur="4.24">when to turn your display off</text><text start="564.88" dur="4.48">very simple stuff let's close that off</text><text start="567.36" dur="2.96">and see what else we've got in developer</text><text start="569.36" dur="2.56">preview</text><text start="570.32" dur="3.44">we then have our network we have a</text><text start="571.92" dur="3.52">screen cast tool let's have a look at</text><text start="573.76" dur="3.759">how this one works again we've got the</text><text start="575.44" dur="4.32">warning</text><text start="577.519" dur="3.921">okay so it appears that this little icon</text><text start="579.76" dur="2.16">right here is the recording so we can</text><text start="581.44" dur="2.56">click</text><text start="581.92" dur="3.919">or right click and it's going to give</text><text start="584" dur="4.48">the option to start or just straight up</text><text start="585.839" dur="4.161">quits let's test out of a start</text><text start="588.48" dur="3.12">so it doesn't appear at the moment to be</text><text start="590" dur="3.279">giving us any indication that the</text><text start="591.6" dur="3.44">recording has begun</text><text start="593.279" dur="3.921">but now we can right click it once more</text><text start="595.04" dur="5.84">and press stop to end that recording</text><text start="597.2" dur="5.44">okay let's keep going so that was</text><text start="600.88" dur="3.199">developer preview anything else in here</text><text start="602.64" dur="3.92">we might want to take a look</text><text start="604.079" dur="4">at so we have simple browser which is</text><text start="606.56" dur="3.68">going to be another web browser</text><text start="608.079" dur="3.921">simply called a simple browser and of</text><text start="610.24" dur="3.599">course we have falcon which i do think</text><text start="612" dur="3.279">at the moment is set up as your default</text><text start="613.839" dur="3.201">web browser</text><text start="615.279" dur="3.281">okay let's close that off and see if</text><text start="617.04" dur="3.12">there's anything else i want to see in</text><text start="618.56" dur="2.88">developer preview</text><text start="620.16" dur="3.119">we're going to have the start disk</text><text start="621.44" dur="3.68">application and this time it is going to</text><text start="623.279" dur="4.161">ask you for pseudo privileges</text><text start="625.12" dur="3.76">so we're going to go ahead and press ok</text><text start="627.44" dur="2.8">and here we can see the order of the</text><text start="628.88" dur="2.079">start disks and we should just be able</text><text start="630.24" dur="2.96">to</text><text start="630.959" dur="4.161">click on things and move things around</text><text start="633.2" dur="3.68">and then restart but we won't worry</text><text start="635.12" dur="3.839">about that and let's keep moving</text><text start="636.88" dur="4.32">so that was everything apart from disk</text><text start="638.959" dur="4.161">first aid and network and now let's jump</text><text start="641.2" dur="3.68">down into graphics</text><text start="643.12" dur="3.68">so as you can see it's quite a lot of</text><text start="644.88" dur="3.519">stuff here for creator to use especially</text><text start="646.8" dur="4.479">like blender and</text><text start="648.399" dur="4.88">ink space krita scribblers and scanlite</text><text start="651.279" dur="3.601">now like i mentioned beforehand not</text><text start="653.279" dur="3.761">all of these applications are actually</text><text start="654.88" dur="4.24">fully installed and ready to go</text><text start="657.04" dur="4.16">so for example if you wanted to go ahead</text><text start="659.12" dur="4.08">and use we press the icon</text><text start="661.2" dur="3.04">now needs to be downloaded before</text><text start="663.2" dur="3.68">it can be used</text><text start="664.24" dur="5.44">do you want to download it now yes it's</text><text start="666.88" dur="4.079">going to ask you for your password</text><text start="669.68" dur="3.04">and then we're going to give it all the</text><text start="670.959" dur="3.361">privileges it needs</text><text start="672.72" dur="3.28">and it appears to have just disappeared</text><text start="674.32" dur="4.24">let's see if that's installed or whether</text><text start="676" dur="4.56">it's run into a bit of an issue</text><text start="678.56" dur="4.399">no so let's try it once more so we're</text><text start="680.56" dur="5.839">going to go and type in a password again</text><text start="682.959" dur="5.12">press ok so if we go into show details</text><text start="686.399" dur="2.88">we can see sort of the status of where</text><text start="688.079" dur="3.041">it's at</text><text start="689.279" dur="3.68">and it appears to be struggling getting</text><text start="691.12" dur="3.68">past this part here where it's updating</text><text start="692.959" dur="3.361">the repositories</text><text start="694.8" dur="3.2">i'm hoping that's not the case for all</text><text start="696.32" dur="3.12">of the other applications but we'll</text><text start="698" dur="3.279">we'll check that out now so i think what</text><text start="699.44" dur="4.88">we'll do is we'll</text><text start="701.279" dur="5.12">skip for now and keep it moving so</text><text start="704.32" dur="4.24">now let's go back into graphics and test</text><text start="706.399" dur="3.44">out with a different application</text><text start="708.56" dur="3.279">let's go ahead and test out with</text><text start="709.839" dur="3.601">inkscape and what we're going to do is</text><text start="711.839" dur="3.361">hopefully if this does install</text><text start="713.44" dur="4.079">it should also work with the systemwide</text><text start="715.2" dur="3.92">global menu out of the box without no</text><text start="717.519" dur="2.801">intervention and needed</text><text start="719.12" dur="3.92">so again we're going to type in our</text><text start="720.32" dur="4.4">password okay so this time</text><text start="723.04" dur="3.44">it appears to be working so as you can</text><text start="724.72" dur="3.6">see it's got past that point</text><text start="726.48" dur="4.08">where it's updating the repositories and</text><text start="728.32" dur="3.6">it's now installing the packages for us</text><text start="730.56" dur="3.04">so i'll pause the video here while this</text><text start="731.92" dur="3.28">is installing and come back once it's</text><text start="733.6" dur="3.919">finished and there we go is</text><text start="735.2" dur="2.56">installed without any problem whatsoever</text><text start="737.519" dur="1.76">and</text><text start="737.76" dur="3.28">as you can see we have the full global</text><text start="739.279" dur="3.201">menu support for all of the sort of</text><text start="741.04" dur="2.4">settings you might want to go ahead and</text><text start="742.48" dur="2.56">use</text><text start="743.44" dur="3.199">perfect so i'm very happy that that just</text><text start="745.04" dur="3.599">works without any need to sort of mess</text><text start="746.639" dur="3.76">around with things that's a very cool</text><text start="748.639" dur="3.121">let's close in fact let's test out the</text><text start="750.399" dur="3.12">pinning to the dock</text><text start="751.76" dur="3.44">with inkscape and see if this time it</text><text start="753.519" dur="3.76">will actually launch the application</text><text start="755.2" dur="4.4">once it's been closed</text><text start="757.279" dur="3.761">so let's try that again and there we go</text><text start="759.6" dur="3.28">so i'm not too sure what was going on</text><text start="761.04" dur="3.76">with the first one but perhaps maybe it</text><text start="762.88" dur="3.12">was because it was a developer preview</text><text start="764.8" dur="3.12">but that appears to have worked</text><text start="766" dur="4.16">absolutely fine with graphics and</text><text start="767.92" dur="4.719">inkscape so let's close that off and go</text><text start="770.16" dur="4">back into applications</text><text start="772.639" dur="2.961">now again for graphics we're not going</text><text start="774.16" dur="2.72">to worry about installing any of these</text><text start="775.6" dur="2.56">other additional ones</text><text start="776.88" dur="2.72">it's a shame we couldn't get</text><text start="778.16" dur="3.28">working because that's the one i use the</text><text start="779.6" dur="3.919">most myself out of those</text><text start="781.44" dur="4.16">but now let's go into office so we do</text><text start="783.519" dur="2.801">have libreoffice let's go ahead and do</text><text start="785.6" dur="1.919">that</text><text start="786.32" dur="2.4">again it's not going to be fully</text><text start="787.519" dur="2.56">installed yet so we're going to run</text><text start="788.72" dur="3.2">through the same process that we did</text><text start="790.079" dur="3.681">before with inkscape</text><text start="791.92" dur="3.44">and i'll pause the video once more and</text><text start="793.76" dur="3.6">let this install libreoffice</text><text start="795.36" dur="3.84">okay so our libra office application has</text><text start="797.36" dur="3.76">installed without any issues whatsoever</text><text start="799.2" dur="3.68">so we can now go into our</text><text start="801.12" dur="3.04">office applications and go ahead and</text><text start="802.88" dur="2.88">launch libreoffice</text><text start="804.16" dur="3.679">and there it is with the nice little</text><text start="805.76" dur="3.519">icon there in our dock and of course</text><text start="807.839" dur="3.361">we can always go ahead and choose to</text><text start="809.279" dur="3.281">keep that in our dock itself</text><text start="811.2" dur="3.36">and while we're in here let's jump into</text><text start="812.56" dur="2.719">the writer and then as you can see we</text><text start="814.56" dur="3.44">have the full</text><text start="815.279" dur="3.841">global menu support working absolutely</text><text start="818" dur="2.88">flawlessly</text><text start="819.12" dur="4.48">let's close that one up for now and keep</text><text start="820.88" dur="3.36">it moving so moving over to preferences</text><text start="823.6" dur="2.799">now we have</text><text start="824.24" dur="3.68">boot environments let's open up this one</text><text start="826.399" dur="2.161">select the environment the computer</text><text start="827.92" dur="2.96">should start</text><text start="828.56" dur="4">into boot environments are bootable</text><text start="830.88" dur="2.639">clones of snapshots of the working</text><text start="832.56" start="838.48" dur="3.52">to the system</text><text start="840.079" dur="4.481">note that boot environments by default</text><text start="842" dur="4.16">may not cover all locations such as home</text><text start="844.56" dur="3.44">so that is something that could be very</text><text start="846.16" dur="3.119">useful let's close that off and keep</text><text start="848" dur="3.199">moving</text><text start="849.279" dur="3.521">now we also have a desktop which is</text><text start="851.199" dur="2.161">going to be the same applications when</text><text start="852.8" dur="2">we</text><text start="853.36" dur="4.96">right clicked on the desktop and went</text><text start="854.8" dur="6.56">into our desktop preferences like so</text><text start="858.32" dur="4.72">we then have keyboard settings so super</text><text start="861.36" dur="3.2">simple little application here to change</text><text start="863.04" dur="3.359">the keyboard layout is currently on the</text><text start="864.56" dur="2.639">wrong one so we want english united</text><text start="866.399" dur="2.481">kingdom</text><text start="867.199" dur="3.521">let's close that off we then have mouse print settings</text><text start="875.199" dur="4.241">screen settings and it's a very simple</text><text start="877.68" dur="3.92">sort of screen layout editor</text><text start="879.44" dur="3.519">will work for multiple displays and as</text><text start="881.6" dur="4.96">you can see we have actually</text><text start="882.959" dur="5.12">active primary resolution or dur="3.44">recording test i don't think it's going</text><text start="1024.319" dur="2.961">to be super smooth though i can already</text><text start="1026" dur="3.039">see it's dropping frames without</text><text start="1027.28" dur="3.519">anything really happening</text><text start="1029.039" dur="3.841">so we've added a screen capture and it</text><text start="1030.799" dur="5.12">should start to save the file on the</text><text start="1032.88" dur="5.84">desktop so let's press start record</text><text start="1035.919" dur="4.721">and there's the dot mkv file so that is</text><text start="1038.72" dur="4">recording like you can see though</text><text start="1040.64" dur="4.159">performance wise it isn't amazing but</text><text start="1042.72" dur="3.76">again all very new stuff here</text><text start="1044.799" dur="3.76">let's just move the window around a</text><text this and see</text><text start="1051.76" dur="3.919">what it opens it up with</text><text start="1053.84" dur="3.839">okay so it's opened up the video file</text><text start="1055.679" dur="3.841">with mpv</text><text start="1057.679" dur="3.761">but minus the sort of frame skipping</text><text start="1059.52" dur="4.72">there it does appear to be working</text><text start="1061.44" dur="5.28">out of the box with obs doing a simple</text><text start="1064.24" dur="4.16">screen recording we can see a little bit</text><text start="1066.72" dur="3.12">of screen tearing there as well so you</text><text start="1068.4" dur="2.08">might want to mess around with your sort</text><text start="1069.84" dur="2.56">of</text><text start="1070.48" dur="3.68">drivers and exhaust files to get let's go ahead and</text><text start="1077.039" dur="2.64">close up freebsd and what we're going to</text><text start="1078.88" dur="2.08">do now</text><text start="1079.679" dur="3.841">let's have a little run through of the</text><text start="1080.96" dur="4.56">sort of file manager and the application</text><text start="1083.52" dur="3.84">folders now if we go back into our</text><text start="1085.52" dur="3.92">global menu under system where we can</text><text start="1087.36" dur="3.6">find all of our applications listed with</text><text start="1089.44" dur="2.96">the categories here</text><text start="1090.96" dur="2.56">what's cool about this is as well as</text><text start="1092.4" dur="1.68">being able to launch all of our</text><text start="1093.52" dur="2.88">applications</text><text start="1094.08" dur="4.08">from here each of these categories is</text><text start="1096.4" dur="2.399">interactive all sort of a single left</text><text start="1098.16" dur="2.32">click</text><text start="1098.799" dur="4">it's then going to open that up into our</text><text start="1100.48" dur="4.4">file manager and we can browse and sort</text><text start="1102.799" dur="4.401">of manipulate the applications as we see</text><text start="1104.88" dur="3.2">fit from here and actually this little</text><text start="1107.2" dur="2.719">icon on our</text><text start="1108.08" dur="3.28">dock here as well for preferences</text><text start="1109.919" dur="2.801">clicking that will do the same thing but</text><text start="1111.36" dur="2.08">then take you into the preferences</text><text start="1112.72" dur="2.959">folder</text><text start="1113.44" dur="3.84">which is this one there so now if we</text><text start="1115.679" dur="3.12">close preferences off we'll see we've</text><text start="1117.28" dur="4">got a few applications</text><text start="1118.799" dur="4.401">that aren't in any directory at all and</text><text start="1121.28" dur="3.6">we can actually go and right click on</text><text start="1123.2" dur="3.28">that and open in a new tab</text><text start="1124.88" dur="3.6">because each of these applications are</text><text start="1126.48" dur="3.199">more like folders of everything you need</text><text start="1128.48" dur="3.68">so as you can see there is</text><text start="1129.679" dur="3.841">falcon dot app and inside it we have</text><text start="1132.16" dur="4.72">falcon file</text><text start="1133.52" dur="6.64">we have resources which has asked py</text><text start="1136.88" dur="4.72">executable falcon.png and packages</text><text start="1140.16" dur="3.12">now what's cool about that is we should</text><text start="1141.6" dur="3.439">be able to actually move these dot apps</text><text start="1143.28" dur="3.04">anywhere we like on our system</text><text start="1145.039" dur="3.76">and still be able to launch these</text><text start="1146.32" dur="3.76">applications let's give that a go now</text><text start="1148.799" dur="3.12">so we're going to do a falcon so we're</text><text start="1150.08" dur="3.28">going to do a right click and go to copy</text><text start="1151.919" dur="3.441">and we're going to paste it straight</text><text start="1153.36" dur="3.84">onto our desktop like so</text><text start="1155.36" dur="3.439">and now we're going to do a double click</text><text start="1157.2" dur="4.08">test and make sure that it's going to go</text><text start="1158.799" dur="4.481">ahead and open up our web browser</text><text start="1161.28" dur="3.84">perfect from the new location of our</text><text start="1163.28" dur="2.72">desktop and to manage your autostart</text><text start="1165.12" dur="2.4">applications</text><text start="1166" dur="2.96">as you can see in the applications</text><text start="1167.52" dur="2.64">folder we have a folder here called</text><text start="1168.96" dur="2.4">autostart</text><text start="1170.16" dur="2.72">so much like all of the other</text><text start="1171.36" dur="3.199">applications we've checked out we can</text><text start="1172.88" dur="2.799">just do a right click and go and open a</text><text start="1174.559" dur="2.48">new tab</text><text start="1175.679" dur="2.961">you'll notice that each of these have a</text><text start="1177.039" dur="2.721">little arrow on it symbolizing that</text><text start="1178.64" dur="3.6">these are just kind of like</text><text start="1179.76" dur="3.919">sim links so what we can do is just</text><text start="1182.24" dur="3.28">remove that entirely</text><text start="1183.679" dur="3.761">from our sort of startup folder and our</text><text start="1185.52" dur="3.2">sticky note should no longer start up so</text><text start="1187.44" dur="2.56">what we can do</text><text start="1188.72" dur="2.88">is we're just going to move this to the</text><text start="1190" dur="3.44">trash so now that we've removed the</text><text start="1191.6" dur="4.16">sticky notes application from our auto</text><text start="1193.44" dur="3.84">start folder we can go ahead and log out</text><text start="1195.76" dur="3.44">check out the login screen and then log</text><text start="1197.28" dur="3.44">back into the desktop without the sticky</text><text start="1199.2" dur="2.959">notes application launching</text><text start="1200.72" dur="2.8">and here we are the login screen this is</text><text start="1202.159" dur="3.361">the first time i've actually seen the</text><text start="1203.52" dur="3.84">login screen for hello system</text><text start="1205.52" dur="3.039">very simple not too much here going on</text><text start="1207.36" dur="3.36">so we've got our username</text><text start="1208.559" dur="3.12">input box and now we can also go into</text><text start="1210.72" dur="3.28">the password</text><text start="1211.679" dur="3.601">and get back into our desktop and we</text><text start="1214" dur="2.24">should see that the sticky notes</text><text start="1215.28" dur="3.519">application</text><text start="1216.24" dur="4">no longer starts up not to worry though</text><text start="1218.799" dur="3.12">it's not like we've removed the actual</text><text start="1220.24" dur="3.36">application itself all that we have gone</text><text start="1221.919" dur="3.521">ahead and done is remove the link</text><text start="1223.6" dur="3.36">so if we go back into utilities we can</text><text start="1225.44" dur="2.8">see that we can still launch the sticky</text><text start="1226.96" dur="3.28">notes application</text><text start="1228.24" dur="3.28">without any issues so i think that is</text><text start="1230.24"
