[Music][Applause]theproject is entitled dialogue for rightsand equality and it isa three-year eu funded technicalassistance regional programwith the overall objective to strengthenthe capacities of the civil societyactors on a regional level in thesouthern mediterraneanthe service contract has severalclusters of activities andthe one activity we talk about is calledyoung fellowshipprograms the ideaof choosing a climate topic was thatthis is a topicthat's very relevant to the region themediterranean is very fragileand the global warming and other climatethreats areinfluencing it a lot yet the topic isnothigh on the agenda and especially amongyouthit is not a topic that is easy topromoteso the idea was to choose young leaderswho want to engage in this topicand help them become more active andmoreproductiveour project is regional so we alwayslook for a valueedit that a regional initiative canbring and wealso try to avoid duplication withprojects that are happening on thebilateral level in case of the southernmediterraneanthe regional approach is all the moreimportant because this region is veryheterogeneouswith very few connections among thecountries and the civil societyorganizations don't have muchopportunities to cooperate and the youthalso have very few opportunities to meetlooking for the common topics isespecially importantbecause this brings people together andmake them realize that the countries dohave common issues andissues like climate have no boundariesandare not different sometimes from countrytocountry the reason why working withyouth is one of the main objectives ofthe program isthat the southern mediterranean regionhas a very largepopulation of young peoplewho will be the future leaders and whostruggle at this pointto be connected to the decision-makingprocessesand to be involved in in how thecountry's future is shaped
