they go and buy the latest wonder PC</text><text start="96.65" dur="7.079">running the latest chipset etc that you</text><text start="100.58" dur="6.92">just stick on FreeBSD and it will work</text><text start="103.729" dur="6.451">as Windows does and even Linux which</text><text start="107.5" dur="4.84">admittedly has a higher degree of</text><text start="110.18" dur="3.99">hardware compatibility well sometimes</text><text start="112.34" dur="8.1">struggle with the latest developments in</text><text start="114.17" dur="10.67">technology so FreeBSD having a little</text><text start="120.44" dur="6.989">bit of lag behind Linux in this respect</text><text start="124.84" dur="6.54">will probably not work on your latest</text><text start="127.429" dur="7.321">rise in PC or whatever there is nowadays</text><text start="131.38" dur="8.109">where it does shine is in hardware that</text><text start="134.75" dur="8.61">is slightly older more familiar Hardware</text><text start="139.489" dur="6.361">I mean eventually the developers on</text><text start="143.36" dur="5.64">FreeBSD will catch up with the drivers</text><text start="145.85" dur="5.43">and will actually implement many of the</text><text start="149" dur="6.329">the features found in modern hardware</text><text start="151.28" dur="8.34">but it just takes time and like I said</text><text start="155.329" dur="7.171">even in Linux where more resources are</text><text start="159.62" dur="5.339">put in especially the big commercial</text><text start="162.5" dur="5.37">vendors so for instance Ubuntu or read</text><text start="164.959" dur="7.051">up even they are not always on the</text><text start="167.87" dur="6.36">cutting edge of the latest stuff so when</text><text start="172.01" dur="8.94">it comes to hardware it&amp;#39;s really best to</text><text start="174.23" dur="10.97">I would suggest use anything if you must</text><text start="180.95" dur="8.91">on pre-built systems anything from HP or</text><text start="185.2" dur="8.47">IBM Lenovo anything like that they have</text><text start="189.86" dur="10.2">a pretty good track record of running</text><text start="193.67" dur="7.92">very well with FreeBSD and if you go for</text><text start="200.06" dur="4.8">a more independent set for instance</text><text start="201.59" dur="4.979">system76 now they have a fantastic track</text><text start="204.86" dur="3.06">record of running Linux already</text><text start="206.569" dur="5.101">pre-installed so</text><text start="207.92" dur="5.58">or there&amp;#39;s a good chance that anything</text><text start="211.67" dur="3.45">by them that actually runs Linux or any</text><text start="213.5" dur="5.22">of a machine that actually runs Linux</text><text start="215.12" dur="6.47">perfectly will probably run FreeBSD as</text><text start="218.72" dur="8.12">well the biggest problem I&amp;#39;ve noticed is</text><text start="221.59" dur="7.45">laptops now there&amp;#39;s a certain amount of</text><text start="226.84" dur="4.84">incompatibility floating around for</text><text start="229.04" dur="6.33">freebsd and Wi-Fi is not perfect in</text><text start="231.68" dur="5.7">Linux and it&amp;#39;s worse in Ruby SD been the</text><text start="235.37" dur="5.76">case there are some chipsets which are</text><text start="237.38" dur="7.17">guaranteed to work with FreeBSD so what</text><text start="241.13" dur="6.66">I would suggest is that maybe by a</text><text start="244.55" dur="5.64">separate dongle and use that as your</text><text start="247.79" dur="4.979">Wi-Fi even better if you can use</text><text start="250.19" dur="4.41">Ethernet but if that&amp;#39;s not possible then</text><text start="252.769" dur="3.391">it&amp;#39;s a little tried and trusted dongle</text><text start="254.6" dur="5">there&amp;#39;s a I&amp;#39;ll leave a link down below</text><text start="256.16" dur="6.39">of a hardware compatibility page and</text><text start="259.6" dur="6.01">that will list all the chipsets and</text><text start="262.55" dur="6.95">various whatnot which run are are known</text><text start="265.61" dur="6.48">to run with FreeBSD we&amp;#39;ve graphics cards</text><text start="269.5" dur="8.229">there&amp;#39;s not a problem with FreeBSD I I</text><text start="272.09" dur="7.949">can&amp;#39;t speak 100% for AMD cards I&amp;#39;ve not</text><text start="277.729" dur="4.231">I&amp;#39;ve not run one of them for years or a</text><text start="280.039" dur="6.331">Radeon card I&amp;#39;ve not run more than four</text><text start="281.96" dur="5.76">years I mainly use Nvidia and as far as</text><text start="286.37" dur="3.44">in video girls are freebsd there&amp;#39;s not</text><text start="287.72" dur="5.73">problem at all the in video the official</text><text start="289.81" dur="6.609">Nvidia drivers on the from the FreeBSD</text><text start="293.45" dur="4.529">repositories are slightly older does it</text><text start="296.419" dur="3.511">mean that they don&amp;#39;t work but there&amp;#39;s</text><text start="297.979" dur="3.511">like they older but you can of course go</text><text start="299.93" dur="4.56">to the main and video website and</text><text start="301.49" dur="7.2">download a at a package and then just</text><text start="304.49" dur="6.69">run not at a package just a run file</text><text start="308.69" dur="5.43">this is like a script you can just do</text><text start="311.18" dur="4.65">that and it will install the drivers for</text><text start="314.12" dur="5.7">you this is a little bit more work</text><text start="315.83" dur="5.85">involved than just simply PKG or part</text><text start="319.82" dur="3.9">master in it but if that&amp;#39;s what you want</text><text start="321.68" dur="3.959">if you want the latest ones the latest</text><text start="323.72" dur="3.69">ones i&amp;#39;m running i think there&amp;#39;s 418</text><text start="325.639" dur="4.801">then that&amp;#39;s that&amp;#39;s certainly something</text><text start="327.41" dur="5.61">to consider but no no as far as graphics</text><text start="330.44" dur="5.58">cards are there&amp;#39;s really not a problem</text><text start="333.02" dur="7.32">there sound sound hasn&amp;#39;t been a problem</text><text start="336.02" dur="7.99">with freebsd for a long time so many</text><text start="340.34" dur="4.39">onboard sound drivers well you know it&amp;#39;s</text><text start="344.01" dur="6.53">not a problem</text><text start="344.73" dur="8.76">so hardware is it can be an issue</text><text start="350.54" dur="4.6">printers sometimes printers well it</text><text start="353.49" dur="5.82">depends on the printer I really have</text><text start="355.14" dur="9.21">good look with Samsung in HP and I&amp;#39;ve</text><text start="359.31" dur="6.54">had at HP 1024 I don&amp;#39;t know five years</text><text start="364.35" dur="4.88">six years seven years I don&amp;#39;t know about</text><text start="365.85" dur="7.31">it a long time it&amp;#39;s a laser printer it</text><text start="369.23" dur="7.99">it works flawlessly and even if you do</text><text start="373.16" dur="6.67">have problems with freebsd accessing</text><text start="377.22" dur="4.95">printers well one solution would be I</text><text start="379.83" dur="5.79">don&amp;#39;t know it&amp;#39;s not ideal but get a</text><text start="382.17" dur="6.9">little Raspberry Pi bong raspbian on it</text><text start="385.62" dur="5.73">and use that as a printer server it&amp;#39;s</text><text start="389.07" dur="6.24">minimal power and you could access it</text><text start="391.35" dur="6.3">using Kooks so that&amp;#39;s a solution so yeah</text><text start="395.31" dur="4.44">is that keyboard and mouse of course</text><text start="397.65" dur="2.97">there&amp;#39;s never no problem there but again</text><text start="399.75" dur="5.07">it&amp;#39;s all about</text><text start="400.62" dur="7.59">if you resource your hardware and do a</text><text start="404.82" dur="5.34">little bit of homework just check over</text><text start="408.21" dur="3.6">all before taking the plunge into</text><text start="410.16" dur="3.45">FreeBSD you&amp;#39;ll find that if say for</text><text start="411.81" dur="3.96">instance you want to build your own</text><text start="413.61" dur="5.55">system you make sure the parts just</text><text start="415.77" dur="5.22">check the date base and ask about on the</text><text start="419.16" dur="3.57">FreeBSD forums hell you can even come on</text><text start="420.99" dur="3.39">this channel and ask you can put</text><text start="422.73" dur="4.17">together a system that will be fast</text><text start="424.38" dur="4.97">reliable and will run FreeBSD just</text><text start="426.9" dur="2.45">perfectly</text><text start="433.54" dur="9.87">number four hand holding FreeBSD like</text><text start="440.44" dur="6">some flavors of Linux use the command</text><text start="443.41" dur="5.55">line a lot there are some Linux</text><text start="446.44" dur="6.08">distributions which keep the command</text><text start="448.96" dur="6.36">line and the terminal to a to a minimum</text><text start="452.52" dur="4.84">but FreeBSD has never forgotten its UNIX</text><text start="455.32" dur="6.3">roots and that in the sense that the</text><text start="457.36" dur="5.13">terminal is an essential part so right</text><text start="461.62" dur="3.96">from the get-go</text><text start="462.49" dur="5.82">if soon as you&amp;#39;ve installed FreeBSD you</text><text start="465.58" dur="6.89">will just get a terminal session is just</text><text start="468.31" dur="8.04">flushing cursor your login that&amp;#39;s it and</text><text start="472.47" dur="6.13">that can be extremely off-putting but</text><text start="476.35" dur="6.84">that&amp;#39;s its strength because it allows</text><text start="478.6" dur="6.84">you to you learn you can learn and grow</text><text start="483.19" dur="3.48">and develop your skills with FreeBSD and</text><text start="485.44" dur="3.36">not just FreeBSD if you learn it on</text><text start="486.67" dur="4.11">FreeBSD then you can transfer there are</text><text start="488.8" dur="3.81">easily transferable skills into Linux</text><text start="490.78" dur="4.05">there&amp;#39;s very the similarities between</text><text start="492.61" dur="5.91">the two a extraordinary class there are</text><text start="494.83" dur="8.84">key differences of course directory</text><text start="498.52" dur="10.85">structures some commands little things</text><text start="503.67" dur="8.46">the philosophy behind them can differ to</text><text start="509.37" dur="8.95">FreeBSD to a certain extent is very much</text><text start="512.13" dur="9.63">it&amp;#39;s still Unix at higher it has an</text><text start="518.32" dur="6.83">indirect heritage of over 40 years but</text><text start="521.76" dur="7.45">even though it was officially named</text><text start="525.15" dur="6.67">FreeBSD 26 years ago yes a heritage much</text><text start="529.21" dur="4.65">much longer than that and it&amp;#39;s never</text><text start="531.82" dur="5.97">forgotten these rules and as such</text><text start="533.86" dur="6.72">there&amp;#39;s very was that so no nor windows</text><text start="537.79" dur="5.28">creep has it were no windows s creep and</text><text start="540.58" dur="4.32">what I mean by that is I remember when I</text><text start="543.07" dur="3.69">first won many many years ago when I</text><text start="544.9" dur="4.33">used</text><text start="546.76" dur="4.48">Mandrake Linux now I thought it was</text><text start="549.23" dur="5.37">wonderful I was just like to learn about</text><text start="551.24" dur="5.34">Linux I tried to install Red Hat</text><text start="554.6" dur="4.53">previously huh not that they never went</text><text start="556.58" dur="4.8">well but when Mandurah came along oh my</text><text start="559.13" dur="5.4">goodness made it it did everything for</text><text start="561.38" dur="6">you it literally did hold your hand it</text><text start="564.53" dur="4.65">made whit made Linux so accessible that</text><text start="567.38" dur="5.21">even someone with no experience could</text><text start="569.18" dur="7.23">just pop in the cd/dvd load it up and</text><text start="572.59" dur="7.84">install it was brilliant and of course</text><text start="576.41" dur="6.72">then later on Ubuntu then you know</text><text start="580.43" dur="4.92">filled them shoes left Vic when Mandrake</text><text start="583.13" dur="5.76">was no longer around I&amp;#39;m no longer what</text><text start="585.35" dur="5.73">it used to be but you don&amp;#39;t get in that</text><text start="588.89" dur="4.5">freebsd free beasts you install the base</text><text start="591.08" dur="4.8">and on top of that you can then install</text><text start="593.39" dur="4.95">the things that you need and leave out</text><text start="595.88" dur="4.5">the stuff that you don&amp;#39;t you know people</text><text start="598.34" dur="5.7">who I&amp;#39;ve heard people extol virtues of</text><text start="600.38" dur="4.23">arch etc and while arch you know it may</text><text start="604.04" dur="2.4">be great</text><text start="604.61" dur="4.86">it looks really overly complicated to</text><text start="606.44" dur="6.47">install it&amp;#39;s like you put laws of effort</text><text start="609.47" dur="6.69">in to get in my opinion not much back</text><text start="612.91" dur="5.86">freebsd in my opinion gives you a nice</text><text start="616.16" dur="5.1">medium the install is not so difficult</text><text start="618.77" dur="4.11">once you get used to it and once you do</text><text start="621.26" dur="3.12">and once you actually get past the</text><text start="622.88" dur="2.7">initial wall you know you don&amp;#39;t do it</text><text start="624.38" dur="2.46">this is tracer you don&amp;#39;t do it like this</text><text start="625.58" dur="3.6">you know I don&amp;#39;t like that once you get</text><text start="626.84" dur="7.77">past that it gives you the power and the</text><text start="629.18" dur="8.12">freedom to create what you want the</text><text start="634.61" dur="5.79">system that you want without all that</text><text start="637.3" dur="6.67">the hassle and the headache of what arch</text><text start="640.4" dur="6.26">maybe I know I&amp;#39;ve never installed arch</text><text start="643.97" dur="5.61">and they&amp;#39;re really of no interest and</text><text start="646.66" dur="5.16">such because you can build a system of</text><text start="649.58" dur="5.49">yourself</text><text start="651.82" dur="6.04">there&amp;#39;s no Software Center and the one</text><text start="655.07" dur="4.38">of the most for me personally looking in</text><text start="657.86" dur="4.44">the Linux world one of the most</text><text start="659.45" dur="4.05">irritating things was all spying at</text><text start="662.3" dur="5.16">beginning and supposing one or two of</text><text start="663.5" dur="9.51">the user friendly distributions of Linux</text><text start="667.46" dur="9.71">but the soft West and really started to</text><text start="673.01" dur="7.56">attack me because synaptic was always a</text><text start="677.17" dur="6.609">perfect to me if you wanted a GUI</text><text start="680.57" dur="4.139">package manager signups it was not wrong</text><text start="683.779" dur="3.18">there&amp;#39;s not wrong with it</text><text start="684.709" dur="3.481">you know say for instance Debian which</text><text start="686.959" dur="4.831">they used to be I used to use their be</text><text start="688.19" dur="5.16">able to enjoy it greatly apt-get on he didn&amp;#39;t like that I mean you wanted</text><text start="697.85" dur="8.4">a GUI alternative then synaptic was your</text><text start="702.26" dur="5.76">best bet and but for some people and I</text><text start="706.25" dur="4.38">don&amp;#39;t know when this happened why this</text><text start="708.02" dur="4.65">happened but for some people that wasn&amp;#39;t</text><text start="710.63" dur="3.95">enough it wasn&amp;#39;t friendly enough it</text><text start="712.67" dur="4.02">wasn&amp;#39;t Disney fied enough it wasn&amp;#39;t a</text><text start="714.58" dur="5.35">cartoonish enough of soda you got the</text><text start="716.69" dur="5.79">the welcome screen and Software Center</text><text start="719.93" dur="4.92">bundled together and I don&amp;#39;t see the</text><text start="722.48" dur="4.74">point because it&amp;#39;s not so difficult just</text><text start="724.85" dur="5.1">to fire up synaptic and then just search</text><text start="727.22" dur="4.02">what you want I dunno that&amp;#39;s not that&amp;#39;s</text><text start="729.95" dur="2.61">not for me and that&amp;#39;s design choices</text><text start="731.24" dur="4.65">where the people made the distros and</text><text start="732.56" dur="5.82">that&amp;#39;s fine but yeah people who perhaps</text><text start="735.89" dur="4.92">come to FreeBSD expect it to</text><text start="738.38" dur="5.76">automatically I&amp;#39;ve installed everything</text><text start="740.81" dur="5.64">for you yeah a nice little desktop</text><text start="744.14" dur="4.31">environment pops up and then they expect</text><text start="746.45" dur="4.68">the software Center to zoom into there</text><text start="748.45" dur="5.34">to the faces and that&amp;#39;s not gonna happen</text><text start="751.13" dur="7.11">and it doesn&amp;#39;t happen far as help goes</text><text start="753.79" dur="6.85">the freebsd forums I have some people</text><text start="758.24" dur="4.61">may that complain that perhaps they&amp;#39;re a</text><text start="760.64" dur="5.189">bit elitist or a little bit dismissive</text><text start="762.85" dur="6.28">the FreeBSD forums is a great source of</text><text start="765.829" dur="4.441">help and the people on there some of the</text><text start="769.13" dur="5.25">cleverest people that you&amp;#39;ll ever meet</text><text start="770.27" dur="8.22">but they&amp;#39;re the rules of the forum&amp;#39;s are</text><text start="774.38" dur="5.67">that see for me doesn&amp;#39;t matter but for</text><text start="778.49" dur="4.349">them it does and it keeps an orderly</text><text start="780.05" dur="5.82">house you know on oddly ship the you</text><text start="782.839" dur="8.37">have to format your question properly</text><text start="785.87" dur="8.25">and ask it in a professional manner</text><text start="791.209" dur="4.38">everything&amp;#39;s very professional and so if</text><text start="794.12" dur="4.05">you ask it in the right way and you&amp;#39;re</text><text start="795.589" dur="4.261">courteous and the question is clear you</text><text start="798.17" dur="3.99">will get a clear and courteous answer if</text><text start="799.85" dur="5.429">you if your answer is if your question</text><text start="802.16" dur="5.489">is you know I don&amp;#39;t know why is why</text><text start="805.279" dur="4.771">FreeBSD rubbish and why can&amp;#39;t I do this</text><text start="807.649" dur="4.201">then you will I would get ignore and</text><text start="810.05" dur="3.6">this is the same as I you know I uh see</text><text start="811.85" dur="3.96">you know</text><text start="813.65" dur="5.94">you will ever get ignored or you&amp;#39;ll get</text><text start="815.81" dur="6.45">a terse answer asking you to rephrase it</text><text start="819.59" dur="3.9">and I&amp;#39;ve not a problem with that because</text><text start="822.26" dur="6.39">then it does get you to a certain</text><text start="823.49" dur="7.29">mindset of thinking about what the</text><text start="828.65" dur="5.88">problem is and how you ask the questions</text><text start="830.78" dur="6.48">it&amp;#39;s otherwise you get chaos and for</text><text start="834.53" dur="5.73">some new users they may think that no</text><text start="837.26" dur="9.06">help is available because they&amp;#39;ve gone</text><text start="840.26" dur="7.98">to this forum and in their minds being</text><text start="846.32" dur="7.29">treated this way but it&amp;#39;s really not the</text><text start="848.24" dur="6.51">case and besides there&amp;#39;s plenty of over</text><text start="853.61" dur="3.03">help available if you don&amp;#39;t wish you can</text><text start="854.75" dur="5.22">go for my this channel for instance I&amp;#39;ll</text><text start="856.64" dur="6.18">try to help you the best I can if I</text><text start="859.97" dur="4.98">don&amp;#39;t know the answer then I&amp;#39;ll try and</text><text start="862.82" dur="4.44">look it up figure and I&amp;#39;ll I&amp;#39;ll spend a</text><text start="864.95" dur="4.47">good few hours looking at all the source</text><text start="867.26" dur="4.77">material on everything I can to try and</text><text start="869.42" dur="5.94">find you the answer and even if that you</text><text start="872.03" dur="6.66">don&amp;#39;t want to do that then there is a</text><text start="875.36" dur="6.87">source of off of help available in all</text><text start="878.69" dur="7.41">three BS DS there is in Linux as well</text><text start="882.23" dur="5.58">so which is I don&amp;#39;t know kind of</text><text start="886.1" dur="3.87">overlooked it&amp;#39;s plastic it&amp;#39;s not flashy</text><text start="887.81" dur="5.28">enough for us it&amp;#39;s not sexy enough but</text><text start="889.97" dur="6.48">that is the man pages on the manual page</text><text start="893.09" dur="7.41">they&amp;#39;re a source of help which almost</text><text start="896.45" dur="7.53">everything about your system has got a</text><text start="900.5" dur="6.09">little man page about it which will then</text><text start="903.98" dur="3.54">clue you in how to use it the syntax and</text><text start="906.59" dur="3.66">on all the rest</text><text start="907.52" dur="6.95">so while FreeBSD doesn&amp;#39;t hold your hand</text><text start="910.25" dur="6.99">he can provide you signposts in which to</text><text start="914.47" dur="6.1">find the answers that you want I think</text><text start="917.24" dur="8.79">finally FreeBSD is not gross bsd many</text><text start="920.57" dur="8.25">people will they&amp;#39;ll get freebsd or load</text><text start="926.03" dur="7.4">up and be completely shocked that it&amp;#39;s</text><text start="928.82" dur="7.46">not linux e enough for a ghost beastie</text><text start="933.43" dur="6.31">i&amp;#39;ve had an on-and-off kind of</text><text start="936.28" dur="5.29">relationship with him for a while i some</text><text start="939.74" dur="3.81">of my early reviews of the system these</text><text start="941.57" dur="3.709">problem I&amp;#39;m not gonna endear myself to</text><text start="943.55" dur="4.519">the FreeBSD developers I&amp;#39;m not gonna</text><text start="945.279" dur="4.62">if not come on my channel Sena fantastic</text><text start="948.069" dur="3.241">review because I think you know some of</text><text start="949.899" dur="4.04">my earlier reviews were less than</text><text start="951.31" dur="5.339">flattering and the reason for that was I</text><text start="953.939" dur="6.101">was always a little bit skeptical about</text><text start="956.649" dur="6.99">how you&amp;#39;re trying to move on to now dur="5.73">something that it can never deliver and</text><text start="968.05" dur="6.51">as good as FreeBSD is and good as Goss</text><text start="971.439" dur="5.07">PSD is it can never be a bunt oh dur="5.55">whatever you&amp;#39;re looking for will find it</text><text start="2710.72" dur="4.86">PKG info will tell you about it so on</text><text start="2714.08" dur="3.96">and so forth so everything you can do</text><text start="2715.58" dur="4.8">you&amp;#39;re doing the command line and it&amp;#39;s</text><text start="2718.04" dur="4.32">cared for in freebsd so wonderful</text><text start="2720.38" dur="4.71">especially i mean it was always being</text><text start="2722.36" dur="5.34">good but since they introduced the PKG</text><text start="2725.09" dur="3.3">and ng for next dur="5.64">change but it hopefully doesn&amp;#39;t they</text><text start="2735.23" dur="3.3">separate the main base system from the</text><text start="2737.9" dur="7.2">userland</text><text start="2738.53" dur="8.28">so freebsd - update fetch will fetch the</text><text start="2745.1" dur="3.9">Leie security updates for your base</text><text start="2746.81" dur="6.51">system and upgrade it and then then</text><text start="2749" dur="5.88">freebsd - update install will install</text><text start="2753.32" dur="3.72">your debts you&amp;#39;ve only the latest</text><text start="2754.88" dur="4.41">security patches and etc etc that&amp;#39;s kept</text><text start="2757.04" dur="5.28">separate from new userland which is seen</text><text start="2759.29" dur="5.58">to by its PKG and portland ports</text><text start="2762.32" dur="5.1">i use port master because it takes care</text><text start="2764.87" dur="4.23">of the the cleaning up in the install</text><text start="2767.42" dur="3.21">and all the rest on the brain it does it</text><text start="2769.1" dur="3.73">takes care of that</text><text start="2770.63" dur="3.61">again this he not wanting to use the</text><text start="2772.83" dur="4.56">command line to update and install</text><text start="2774.24" dur="5.28">software well you know you could get</text><text start="2777.39" dur="4.35">away we&amp;#39;re using the octo pkg in freebsd</text><text start="2779.52" dur="4.89">but you know it&amp;#39;s a lot quicker just to</text><text start="2781.74" dur="5.28">open up the terminal and where you go I</text><text start="2784.41" dur="5.1">think you&amp;#39;re really not going to enjoy</text><text start="2787.02" dur="6.93">freebsd if you&amp;#39;re not gonna willing to</text><text start="2789.51" dur="6.3">open up the terminal it really you know</text><text start="2793.95" dur="5.55">it&amp;#39;s not able to you need to open up</text><text start="2795.81" dur="7.08">that terminal and some software is seen</text><text start="2799.5" dur="5.88">is slightly older you know case of the</text><text start="2802.89" dur="5.49">drivers and then video drivers well you</text><text start="2805.38" dur="6.36">know all that doesn&amp;#39;t necessarily mean</text><text start="2808.38" dur="6.15">worse a lot of some of the older</text><text start="2811.74" dur="4.86">software in freebsd and not a lot of it</text><text start="2814.53" dur="4.2">this applies you know that it&amp;#39;s not not</text><text start="2816.6" dur="8.1">all the software is old there&amp;#39;s a lot of</text><text really doesn&amp;#39;t matter if it&amp;#39;s</text><text start="2830.22" dur="6.84">got I mean obviously if it&amp;#39;s missing</text><text start="2832.67" dur="8.17">some features that you want well you</text><text start="2837.06" dur="6.03">know and FreeBSD doesn&amp;#39;t scratch that</text><text start="2840.84" dur="5.4">itch then you know moving back to Linux</text><text start="2843.09" dur="7.71">is perhaps the option or running in</text><text start="2846.24" dur="10.41">VirtualBox I&amp;#39;ve you know run Linux</text><text start="2850.8" dur="8.43">session in VirtualBox or use wine or I</text><text start="2856.65" dur="6.15">mean and I&amp;#39;ve managed to do this on a</text><text start="2859.23" dur="6.92">couple of occasions use the Linux you</text><text start="2862.8" dur="6.96">later Linux you later I love that word</text><text start="2866.15" dur="7.57">which is the Linux ABI and which allows</text><text start="2869.76" dur="6.38">you to run some Linux software natively</text><text start="2873.72" dur="6.3">as if you were running a FreeBSD version</text><text start="2876.14" dur="5.23">then you can have them if it works with</text><text start="2880.02" dur="3.84">any kind of the Lynx version but you</text><text start="2881.37" dur="5.28">know so because some software&amp;#39;s all that</text><text start="2883.86" dur="6.21">doesn&amp;#39;t mean it&amp;#39;s any worse and FreeBSD</text><text start="2886.65" dur="6.6">is not too bad when it comes to the date</text><text start="2890.07" dur="5.57">of software I say if you run imports and</text><text start="2893.25" dur="4.77">you tracking the latest developments you</text><text start="2895.64" dur="4.24">know do a ports and a professor latest</text><text start="2898.02" dur="2.28">one all the latest software is there for</text><text start="2899.88" dur="3">you I mean</text><text start="2900.3" dur="3.63">I&amp;#39;ve installed on this system some</text><text start="2902.88" dur="2.939">plasma</text><text start="2903.93" dur="3.54">which is even newer than what&amp;#39;s just</text><text start="2905.819" dur="2.52">been on Debian 10 which has just been</text><text start="2907.47" dur="3.24">released</text><text start="2908.339" dur="3.331">having the Debian 10 one is 5:14</text><text start="2910.71" dur="4.609">something like that</text><text start="2911.67" dur="6.57">I&amp;#39;ve got 516 I think so you know and</text><text start="2915.319" dur="8.411">know PPA support well again like I said</text><text start="2918.24" dur="8.7">earlier
