with</text><text start="12.599" dur="6.571">our NGO has to make my life a little</text><text start="15.66" dur="5.79">easier may or may not help you but this</text><text start="19.17" dur="5.96">is roughly based on a presentation that</text><text start="21.45" dur="7.14">I did Warp stalked the u.s. last year</text><text start="25.13" dur="7.57">because I put this together unreasonably</text><text start="28.59" dur="7.11">short notice so hopefully not too many</text><text start="32.7" dur="5.6">of you have seen it before go ahead next</text><text start="35.7" dur="2.6">slide okay</text><text start="39.6" dur="6.3">pre boot menu a couple of things that I</text><text start="43.23" dur="7.05">always go in and change I don&amp;#39;t have a</text><text start="45.9" dur="6.179">USB DVD driver so I always go in and</text><text start="50.28" dur="5.81">change it so that I don&amp;#39;t get that</text><text start="52.079" dur="11.491">phantom Drive in my drives folder for</text><text start="56.09" dur="10.569">USB and if you are having drivers trap</text><text start="63.57" dur="7.56">it&amp;#39;s real easy to edit the configure</text><text start="66.659" dur="7.051">systems and go in and actually just Ram</text><text start="71.13" dur="3.99">out the driver of course depending on</text><text start="73.71" dur="5.28">what the driver is if it&amp;#39;s the hard</text><text start="75.12" dur="5.76">drive if it&amp;#39;s hzi or something like that</text><text start="78.99" dur="5.01">it&amp;#39;s not going to do you much good but</text><text start="80.88" dur="6.66">but oftentimes you can do that and you</text><text start="84" dur="6.659">can use either verbose boot which is</text><text start="87.54" dur="5.46">setting in the pre boot menu which takes</text><text start="90.659" dur="5.611">down basically it takes down the logo so</text><text start="93" dur="6.09">you can see everything load huge amount</text><text start="96.27" dur="5.22">of garbage on the screen mostly and or</text><text start="99.09" dur="7.83">you can just use the alt f2 which shows</text><text start="101.49" dur="14.61">everything that loads after the logo</text><text start="106.92" dur="13.41">comes down next slide the GPT or Luc&amp;#39;s</text><text start="116.1" dur="6.54">type drives which a lot of new computers</text><text start="120.33" dur="4.649">are going to have with windows on them</text><text start="122.64" dur="5.159">you don&amp;#39;t want to go anywhere near them</text><text start="124.979" dur="4.98">with OS to our basic OS to disk</text><text start="127.799" dur="5.101">utilities because they think that the</text><text start="129.959" dur="4.39">drive is empty so guess what they do to</text><text start="132.9" dur="5.809">the drive</text><text start="134.349" dur="6.551">yeah it basically read partitions and</text><text start="138.709" dur="3.931">reformats everything and you lose</text><text start="140.9" dur="5.55">everything that was on that drive</text><text start="142.64" dur="7.02">now they DFC and air boot have been</text><text start="146.45" dur="6.11">fixed to address this pretty well so if</text><text start="149.66" dur="29.73">you&amp;#39;re using those types of tools and</text><text start="152.56" dur="29.08">hasn&amp;#39;t even many many LVM is okay you</text><text start="179.39" dur="5.61">you are in theory safe but like I said</text><text start="181.64" dur="6.9">if you&amp;#39;re using LVM itself be really</text><text start="185" dur="14.549">careful because it potentially could be</text><text start="188.54" dur="14.64">a problem right but but if you start LVM</text><text start="199.549" dur="6.651">itself it doesn&amp;#39;t check in other words</text><text start="203.18" dur="33.899">I&amp;#39;m saying don&amp;#39;t use the pure IBM</text><text start="206.2" dur="32.89">shipped disk because there are people</text><text start="237.079" dur="7.351">who actually destroyed discs</text><text start="239.09" dur="7.799">historically with the tools peer</text><text start="244.43" dur="4.2">networking one of the things you want to</text><text start="246.889" dur="3.63">make sure and I think this is going into</text><text start="248.63" dur="7.009">the installer is that you have to</text><text start="250.519" dur="5.12">install NetBIOS or NetBIOS over tcp/ip</text><text start="262.479" dur="17.231">fault</text><text start="265.36" dur="17.8">right right</text><text start="279.71" dur="5.69">and if you don&amp;#39;t see it or you just flat</text><text start="283.16" dur="5.13">miss it you&amp;#39;re going to end up with</text><text start="285.4" dur="4.66">Pierre installed and have no idea why it</text><text start="288.29" dur="4.23">doesn&amp;#39;t work and that&amp;#39;s why it doesn&amp;#39;t</text><text start="290.06" dur="6.38">work it&amp;#39;s because the network protocols</text><text start="292.52" dur="6.66">aren&amp;#39;t installed you can actually use</text><text start="296.44" dur="5.95">peer networking and samba at the same</text><text start="299.18" dur="4.47">time but then you have to use peer</text><text start="302.39" dur="4.85">networking you have to run it over</text><text start="303.65" dur="7.11">straight NetBIOS because NetBIOS some</text><text start="307.24" dur="5.32">tcp/ip basically uses the same</text><text start="310.76" dur="3.96">addressing as Sam but does so they</text><text start="312.56" dur="5.42">interfere with each other but NetBIOS</text><text start="314.72" dur="3.26">does it next slide</text><text start="318.4" dur="3">sure</text><text start="333.56" dur="24.69">I had not seen that okay because I mhm</text><text start="354.32" dur="5.79">I historically did this on EEZs which it</text><text start="358.25" dur="3.84">would also work on Arkham OS but I</text><text start="360.11" dur="6.68">haven&amp;#39;t actually done it on our go s</text><text start="362.09" dur="7.049">with P R and Sam but at the same time I</text><text start="366.79" dur="4.96">recommend that you remove drivers that</text><text start="369.139" dur="5.161">you don&amp;#39;t need they take up space they</text><text start="371.75" dur="5.52">change the timing a lot of them don&amp;#39;t</text><text start="374.3" dur="5.4">even load in reality they just go out</text><text start="377.27" dur="6.45">and check it speeds up the boot a little</text><text start="379.7" dur="6.06">bit maybe not real important there are a</text><text start="383.72" dur="4.949">lot of people that even if you&amp;#39;re using</text><text start="385.76" dur="5.43">the fat32 driver that recommend that you</text><text start="388.669" dur="7.651">don&amp;#39;t use the cache that it actually</text><text start="391.19" dur="8.31">slows it down my USB ports are so slow</text><text start="396.32" dur="4.74">that I wouldn&amp;#39;t notice the only thing</text><text start="399.5" dur="5.34">you want to make sure you don&amp;#39;t do is</text><text start="401.06" dur="6.51">remove duplicate base USB drivers</text><text start="404.84" dur="5.19">because each of your controllers has to</text><text start="407.57" dur="5.88">have a driver so if you have four</text><text start="410.03" dur="9.05">controllers of one of those types and of</text><text start="413.45" dur="8.91">course you be us bx HDD is simply</text><text start="419.08" dur="10.45">hopefully going to be out soon it is</text><text start="422.36" dur="9.15">being developed okay go ahead if you&amp;#39;re</text><text start="429.53" dur="5.37">running protect only which means you</text><text start="431.51" dur="6.75">don&amp;#39;t install das or Windows if you</text><text start="434.9" dur="6.239">install peer and all the networking</text><text start="438.26" dur="4.89">stuff all of the virtual drivers for das</text><text start="441.139" dur="4.051">get installed it doesn&amp;#39;t pay any</text><text start="443.15" dur="3.989">attention to this so you need to go in</text><text start="445.19" dur="4.47">and cut them out</text><text start="447.139" dur="5.071">don&amp;#39;t take das systems out though</text><text start="449.66" dur="7.97">because that when you need to run even</text><text start="452.21" dur="5.42">unprotect mode okay go ahead</text><text start="465.56" dur="3.52">yeah</text><text start="466.8" dur="4.23">it does it does a lot of things in other</text><text start="469.08" dur="4.559">words it&amp;#39;s not directly related to dots</text><text start="471.03" dur="6.56">I just mention it because obviously it</text><text start="473.639" dur="39.181">looks like it is based on its name</text><text start="477.59" dur="39.129">shells but the real difference is the</text><text start="512.82" dur="7.08">way they do command line expansion so if</text><text start="516.719" dur="5.041">some command lines on for always to</text><text start="519.9" dur="4.98">expand is something different than what</text><text start="521.76" dur="5.31">they expand on CMD and that&amp;#39;s what what</text><text start="524.88" dur="4.26">basically causes all these problems a</text><text start="527.07" dur="4.98">lot of them have been addressed in the</text><text start="529.14" dur="5.28">weight is for os/2 but it still has its</text><text start="532.05" dur="4.47">problems and I&amp;#39;ll be honest with you I</text><text start="534.42" dur="6.87">don&amp;#39;t use it as my default shell anymore</text><text start="536.52" dur="7.68">I have two CMD wrappers that I use which</text><text start="541.29" dur="7.47">I simply run afterwards so if I go back</text><text start="544.2" dur="7.11">my environment off of the desktop is CMD</text><text start="548.76" dur="5.67">my environment off of everything else is</text><text start="551.31" dur="6.719">for os/2 I just changed the shell</text><text start="554.43" dur="5.51">commands but this is just a list of some</text><text start="558.029" dur="6.211">of the things that I&amp;#39;ve run across that</text><text start="559.94" dur="7.269">there are problems a NPN installed as at</text><text start="564.24" dur="8.28">work ARCA mapper has a bunch of problems</text><text start="567.209" dur="8.041">but this is one of them and some of the</text><text start="572.52" dur="4.259">BMX programs will throw weird error</text><text start="575.25" dur="5.79">messages even though a lot of times</text><text start="576.779" dur="7.051">they&amp;#39;ll work you&amp;#39;ll get a collection of</text><text start="581.04" dur="6.69">error message boxes so you&amp;#39;re just</text><text start="583.83" dur="7.36">better off probably using CMD as your</text><text start="587.73" dur="6.2">default next slide</text><text start="591.19" dur="7.149">come and feel command-line switches on</text><text start="593.93" dur="7.98">most things you probably don&amp;#39;t need much</text><text start="598.339" dur="8.901">in the way in command-line switches the</text><text start="601.91" dur="11.85">new this is the new fat32 the dot ten</text><text start="607.24" dur="9.4">and as you can see EA&amp;#39;s it has been</text><text start="613.76" dur="5.79">intermittently broken across versions</text><text start="616.64" dur="5.009">may be broken in every one of the</text><text start="619.55" dur="6.39">versions except that I can&amp;#39;t identify</text><text start="621.649" dur="6.661">that it is so probably unless you have a</text><text start="625.94" dur="5.94">real specific reason for needing it you</text><text start="628.31" dur="6.69">probably don&amp;#39;t want to use it the slash</text><text start="631.88" dur="5.22">fat gives you the fat support which are</text><text start="635" dur="3">which is just fat only with long</text><text start="637.1" dur="3.84">filenames</text><text start="638" dur="9.36">which is kind of a nice feature that one</text><text start="640.94" dur="10.08">is included in the arc OS version the X</text><text start="647.36" dur="9.36">fat which is an experimental in this and</text><text start="651.02" dur="8.04">is Microsoft&amp;#39;s patented fat version it&amp;#39;s</text><text start="656.72" dur="6.71">not available in Argos and it&amp;#39;s because</text><text start="659.06" dur="4.37">of the Microsoft patents and licensing</text><text start="664.06" dur="9.94">you can try adding to the HCI driver the</text><text start="668.27" dur="10.77">/n / f it does speed up disk access for</text><text start="674" dur="7.02">some people in some systems and no one</text><text start="679.04" dur="3.989">has reported a problem with using it</text><text start="681.02" dur="4.25">that doesn&amp;#39;t mean there isn&amp;#39;t a problem</text><text start="683.029" dur="7.201">but it&amp;#39;s something you might want to try</text><text start="685.27" dur="8.08">a virtual address limit I&amp;#39;ve heard a lot</text><text start="690.23" dur="8.7">of different things that range from what</text><text start="693.35" dur="11.85">I&amp;#39;ve got up there from 10 to 10 24 to 30</text><text start="698.93" dur="11.04">72 1536 I think is the default in our go</text><text start="705.2" dur="8.27">west it&amp;#39;s probably if you&amp;#39;re running a</text><text start="709.97" dur="7.26">lot of things a lot of big programs like</text><text start="713.47" dur="5.83">Open Office and the Mozilla apps and</text><text start="717.23" dur="6.09">stuff like that you probably need to</text><text start="719.3" dur="7.65">kick it up at least a 2048</text><text start="723.32" dur="3.63">next slide okay</text><text start="730.5" dur="6.3">one of the interesting things that I</text><text start="732.51" dur="9.24">discovered I often shine I would change</text><text start="736.8" dur="8.64">daus from low no um be too high you and</text><text start="741.75" dur="5.61">be I use dots for a decompilers a lot of</text><text start="745.44" dur="3.18">people obviously this has no effect on</text><text start="747.36" dur="5.67">because you&amp;#39;re probably not going to be</text><text start="748.62" dur="7.8">using daus but I found out that it traps</text><text start="753.03" dur="6.66">if that device driver has the slash um</text><text start="756.42" dur="5.61">be switch on it and I have no idea why</text><text start="759.69" dur="5.58">because if you&amp;#39;ve got it set both places</text><text start="762.03" dur="8.55">if I take the switch off and put high</text><text start="765.27" dur="7.26">you and B it works if I use low no um B</text><text start="770.58" dur="7.08">and put the slap and put the switch on</text><text start="772.53" dur="7.2">it works but both of them it traps so if</text><text start="777.66" dur="3.99">you make some change to your dodge</text><text start="779.73" dur="4.91">settings and have an odd trap that&amp;#39;s</text><text start="781.65" dur="6.54">probably it&amp;#39;s probably related to that I</text><text start="784.64" dur="5.86">like using V compat it&amp;#39;s one of the</text><text start="788.19" dur="3.66">things that allows dots to see drives</text><text start="790.5" dur="3.54">that are bigger than the two gigabytes</text><text start="791.85" dur="4.95">that&amp;#39;s one of the things that does it</text><text start="794.04" dur="5.97">actually does some timing stuff for some</text><text start="796.8" dur="4.53">all at old dos games and a few other</text><text start="800.01" dur="4.92">things that are nice</text><text start="801.33" dur="5.94">there is another driver which name</text><text start="804.93" dur="5.07">escapes me if all you&amp;#39;re interested in</text><text start="807.27" dur="6.87">is the two gigabyte larger than two</text><text start="810" dur="7.8">gigabyte Drive support and I use four</text><text start="814.14" dur="5.52">dots and as far as I can tell it doesn&amp;#39;t</text><text start="817.8" dur="7.64">have any of the problems that for os/2</text><text start="819.66" dur="5.78">does with things not working next slide</text><text start="826.31" dur="6.22">the dots video issues where your dust</text><text start="829.77" dur="5.31">window comes up and says that this video</text><text start="832.53" dur="5.7">is not supported I don&amp;#39;t remember the</text><text start="835.08" dur="7.86">exact error message there&amp;#39;s a lot of</text><text start="838.23" dur="7.98">things you can try the vs VGA a dot sis</text><text start="842.94" dur="5.91">with the interrupt n whatever that</text><text start="846.21" dur="6.54">whatever the rest of the stuff is ending</text><text start="848.85" dur="5.94">and safe is the one that most reliably</text><text start="852.75" dur="4.17">works you have to put that into</text><text start="854.79" dur="5.45">configures config dot</text><text start="856.92" dur="7.5">system and then you need to add mode</text><text start="860.24" dur="7.45">Coad and then on a separate line cos to</text><text start="864.42" dur="5.88">the auto execute that and that on my</text><text start="867.69" dur="5.519">system for example works it does not fix</text><text start="870.3" dur="4.68">it on every system there are some other</text><text start="873.209" dur="3.93">things you can try as you can see</text><text start="874.98" dur="4.38">there&amp;#39;s a huge number of command line</text><text start="877.139" dur="6.121">switches that actually exists for these</text><text start="879.36" dur="6.45">things I think it was you Roderick it</text><text start="883.26" dur="6.42">told me that basically people have tried</text><text start="885.81" dur="6.269">most of them without much success when</text><text start="889.68" dur="22.019">you were working on ECS other than the</text><text start="892.079" dur="22.44">one that works but they represent</text><text start="911.699" dur="6.69">something you could try that&amp;#39;s about the</text><text start="914.519" dur="10.13">best there are a few reports the V V G</text><text start="918.389" dur="6.26">ASIS or the VX g ASIS actually fixes it</text><text start="953.33" dur="12.97">this right this is this is a fix for</text><text start="963.66" dur="5.7">Windows it&amp;#39;s not for full screen full</text><text start="966.3" dur="5.19">screen works any computer that you can</text><text start="969.36" dur="6.48">fix the window with this full screen</text><text start="971.49" dur="6.9">works at least as far as I know so and</text><text start="975.84" dur="4.44">the other trick is sometimes you can</text><text start="978.39" dur="4.29">open the full screen and then just</text><text start="980.28" dur="4.68">switch it to a window and that will work</text><text start="982.68" dur="4.59">in other words you don&amp;#39;t get the error</text><text start="984.96" dur="4.74">message when you take the full screen</text><text start="987.27" dur="4.17">down to a window I don&amp;#39;t know that it</text><text start="989.7" dur="4.05">works hundred percent of the time but it</text><text start="991.44" dur="5.22">also works on some computers where this</text><text start="993.75" dur="4.74">switch doesn&amp;#39;t so there are several</text><text start="996.66" dur="9.87">different approaches to try to work</text><text start="998.49" dur="9.78">around this next slide the other thing</text><text start="1006.53" dur="6.15">is is there have been reports that</text><text start="1008.27" dur="7.2">window is - some of them where das works</text><text start="1012.68" dur="5.34">and winnow is - doesn&amp;#39;t work if you go</text><text start="1015.47" dur="6.03">in there are four dots video set</text><text start="1018.02" dur="5.64">settings and there have been reports of</text><text start="1021.5" dur="4.89">various ones of those being toggled</text><text start="1023.66" dur="4.47">either on or off depending on if they&amp;#39;re</text><text start="1026.39" dur="3.81">on you toggle them off and if they&amp;#39;re</text><text start="1028.13" dur="7.44">off you toggle them on which actually</text><text start="1030.2" dur="11.49">fixes the window as to problem next</text><text start="1035.57" dur="8.67">slide some people like to sort their</text><text start="1041.69" dur="6.96">configure systems I personally do I</text><text start="1044.24" dur="9.06">think Doug&amp;#39;s logical config sort is a</text><text start="1048.65" dur="6.87">nice tool obviously other people don&amp;#39;t I</text><text start="1053.3" dur="6.93">haven&amp;#39;t had any problems with his tool</text><text start="1055.52" dur="9.45">breaking anything obviously there are</text><text start="1060.23" dur="6.44">some order things within config dot sis</text><text start="1064.97" dur="4.51">he understood</text><text start="1066.67" dur="6.06">most of them were not in them right I</text><text start="1069.48" dur="5.17">assume there is probably some odd driver</text><text start="1072.73" dur="4.11">out there that he knows nothing about</text><text start="1074.65" dur="6.74">that could become a problem I do know</text><text start="1076.84" dur="9.57">one thing that if you&amp;#39;re adding a new</text><text start="1081.39" dur="7.99">comm driver Network driver and you try</text><text start="1086.41" dur="5.73">to add it into the additional your</text><text start="1089.38" dur="5.82">personal drivers it gets added in the</text><text start="1092.14" dur="4.95">wrong order because they either all get</text><text start="1095.2" dur="3.99">added first or last I think it&amp;#39;s last</text><text start="1097.09" dur="5.52">and that&amp;#39;s not where that driver needs</text><text start="1099.19" dur="5.25">to be because then there is no card</text><text start="1102.61" dur="4.44">driver as the rest of the network</text><text start="1104.44" dur="4.02">drivers try to add but that&amp;#39;s that&amp;#39;s the</text><text start="1107.05" dur="6.47">only one I&amp;#39;m aware of and of course</text><text start="1108.46" dur="9.45">that&amp;#39;s kind of an odd one I also use</text><text start="1113.52" dur="7.06">config tool which obviously some of its</text><text start="1117.91" dur="4.29">suggestions are pretty outdated but some</text><text start="1120.58" dur="2.82">of the things that suggest and some of</text><text start="1122.2" dur="8.01">the things that we&amp;#39;ll show you are</text><text start="1123.4" dur="10.98">actually still valuable next slide mice</text><text start="1130.21" dur="6.12">a mouse versus s Mouse I think s Mouse</text><text start="1134.38" dur="3.21">the only thing that you really need to</text><text start="1136.33" dur="4.77">use it on is ThinkPads</text><text start="1137.59" dur="6.6">and I run a mouse on my think pad and it</text><text start="1141.1" dur="5.34">works just fine but some people have had</text><text start="1144.19" dur="4.95">problems with it on think pads with</text><text start="1146.44" dur="5.01">track point and stuff and if you do</text><text start="1149.14" dur="4.5">obviously the thing the thing I would</text><text start="1151.45" dur="5.04">recommend is install with a mouse and</text><text start="1153.64" dur="7.61">then if you do encounter Mouse errors</text><text start="1156.49" dur="9.65">switch back to IBM single Mouse driver</text><text start="1161.25" dur="7.78">multi-point Exe it&amp;#39;s loaded by WP config</text><text start="1166.14" dur="7.15">DLL which is part of the single Mouse</text><text start="1169.03" dur="7.11">driver as far as I can tell with a mouse</text><text start="1173.29" dur="6.66">loaded it does nothing but take up low</text><text start="1176.14" dur="6.69">memory and eat CPU cycles because it&amp;#39;s</text><text start="1179.95" dur="6.6">it&amp;#39;s a it poles you can see that if you</text><text start="1182.83" dur="6.39">look at it in top or something like that</text><text start="1186.55" dur="6">it&amp;#39;s a polling driver I always just</text><text start="1189.22" dur="6.66">simply rename it I be M and it&amp;#39;s</text><text start="1192.55" dur="5.96">infinite wisdom did not provide any way</text><text start="1195.88" dur="5.73">to prevent it from being load</text><text start="1198.51" dur="5.38">other than renaming it or something of</text><text start="1201.61" dur="3.78">that equivalent if you&amp;#39;re going to do</text><text start="1203.89" dur="3.27">that and switch to the single mouse</text><text start="1205.39" dur="3.45">driver they&amp;#39;ll remember you did that</text><text start="1207.16" dur="4.92">because you&amp;#39;re gonna have to rename it</text><text start="1208.84" dur="18.6">back otherwise the single mouse driver</text><text start="1212.08" dur="17.94">won&amp;#39;t work well and what I&amp;#39;m saying is</text><text start="1227.44" dur="5.76">multi pointed scroll is is pulling for</text><text start="1230.02" dur="5.55">something or throwing interrupts I can&amp;#39;t</text><text start="1233.2" dur="9.72">tell you what it&amp;#39;s eating CPU cycles is</text><text start="1235.57" dur="9.57">what I can tell you and right but if I</text><text start="1242.92" dur="3.84">take multi-point out I don&amp;#39;t see it in</text><text start="1245.14" dur="6.11">other words it&amp;#39;s not like something else</text><text start="1246.76" dur="4.49">does it next slide</text><text start="1282.43" dur="18.52">I think a trap most reported once the</text><text start="1291.44" dur="12.66">crash I think it was a t60 there are Co</text><text start="1300.95" dur="7.44">s as a new loader and it has a couple of</text><text start="1304.1" dur="7.32">nice features one you can create a ram</text><text start="1308.39" dur="7.89">disk which uses any memory you have</text><text start="1311.42" dur="7.44">above the four gigabyte limit and for</text><text start="1316.28" dur="6.72">example my desktop has four gigabytes of</text><text start="1318.86" dur="7.08">memory in it I can still create a 500</text><text start="1323" dur="5.1">megabyte drive that is using memory that</text><text start="1325.94" dur="4.71">otherwise would never be used because</text><text start="1328.1" dur="4.83">there&amp;#39;s that much that is taken out of</text><text start="1330.65" dur="5.4">that four gigabytes by roms and other</text><text start="1332.93" dur="5.31">things that are getting loaded so even</text><text start="1336.05" dur="6.84">even with 4 gigabytes is it this is</text><text start="1338.24" dur="8.55">valuable I put my temp file on it and</text><text start="1342.89" dur="7.52">those commands the run this and the 2</text><text start="1346.79" dur="6.45">sec commands is simply what I put in my</text><text start="1350.41" dur="7.93">config dot sis and that way it creates</text><text dur="4.5">that disk so that you can use it</text><text start="1380.63" dur="5.97">following a warm reboot obviously a cold</text><text start="1382.79" dur="5.76">reboot ain&amp;#39;t gonna help but I not tried</text><text start="1386.6" dur="4.44">that so I don&amp;#39;t know how well it does it</text><text start="1388.55" dur="4.95">obviously that becomes important for the</text><text start="1391.04" dur="4.5">spooler if you know you crash in the</text><text start="1393.5" dur="3.88">middle of a print job you really don&amp;#39;t</text><text start="1395.54" dur="3.79">want to lose what&amp;#39;s in this boiler as</text><text start="1397.38" dur="3.99">part of that the other thing you could</text><text start="1399.33" dur="5.25">actually put on it is the swap file and</text><text start="1401.37" dur="4.89">I&amp;#39;ve done that and it works the problem</text><text start="1404.58" dur="3.9">you the only problem you have is the</text><text start="1406.26" dur="6.18">swap file has to be put in the root</text><text start="1408.48" dur="6.12">because this trick of making a directory</text><text start="1412.44" dur="3.69">for whatever reason doesn&amp;#39;t work and I</text><text start="1414.6" dur="3.63">think it&amp;#39;s just because the swap file</text><text start="1416.13" dur="5.55">gets initialized too early in the boot</text><text start="1418.23" dur="5.43">process for this to work but you can put</text><text start="1421.68" dur="4.74">the swap file up there so you could use</text><text start="1423.66" dur="4.98">the memory for that also of course I</text><text start="1426.42" dur="5.4">don&amp;#39;t think I&amp;#39;ve gotten to swap even</text><text start="1428.64" dur="4.65">running OpenOffice and Mozilla apps and</text><text start="1431.82" dur="4.71">stuff like that I don&amp;#39;t think I&amp;#39;ve gone</text><text start="1433.29" dur="9.6">to my swap file in years so may not help</text><text start="1436.53" dur="9.75">much it also has the ability to you can</text><text start="1442.89" dur="5.13">put a mem limit in and the advantage to</text><text start="1446.28" dur="5.76">that is if you&amp;#39;re if you&amp;#39;re trying to</text><text start="1448.02" dur="6.96">get a trap dump obviously creating a 4</text><text start="1452.04" dur="7.97">gigabyte fat drive is a little tough</text><text start="1454.98" dur="9.48">there is a tool a dump FS which is</text><text start="1460.01" dur="7.24">really not ready for primetime it was</text><text start="1464.46" dur="5.06">released as a beta by Scott Garfield is</text><text start="1467.25" dur="5.07">one of the last things that he put out</text><text start="1469.52" dur="5.29">but this allows you this allows you to</text><text start="1472.32" dur="7.11">use a 2 gigabyte or even smaller fat</text><text start="1474.81" dur="7.98">drive as your dump partition because all</text><text start="1479.43" dur="5.25">the memory you have is 512 now you don&amp;#39;t</text><text start="1482.79" dur="3.42">want to obviously run like this because</text><text start="1484.68" dur="4.86">that&amp;#39;s literally all the memory you have</text><text start="1486.21" dur="5.82">it just makes it so so that the system</text><text start="1489.54" dur="7.25">cannot see the rest of the memory it</text><text start="1492.03" dur="10.32">just sees the 512 or you can limit it to</text><text start="1496.79" dur="7.33">1024 to 2048 depending on this is also a</text><text start="1502.35" dur="3.78">lot easier for whoever&amp;#39;s gonna have to</text><text start="1504.12" dur="4.62">analyze that dump because they&amp;#39;ve</text><text start="1506.13" dur="4.71">got a lot less stuff to go through then</text><text start="1508.74" dur="3.98">they would have if you&amp;#39;ve got your 4</text><text start="1510.84" dur="7.89">gigabytes of memory</text><text start="1512.72" dur="9.07">next slide the note on both the what I</text><text start="1518.73" dur="4.89">put up there is what you would put in to</text><text start="1521.79" dur="5.73">the os/2 loader</text><text start="1523.62" dur="7.02">well it&amp;#39;s ldillard dot config is those</text><text start="1527.52" dur="9.18">lines there are two</text><text start="1530.64" dur="8.88">GUI tools in Arco s one of them called</text><text start="1536.7" dur="6.09">mem limit and you can just type men</text><text start="1539.52" dur="6.63">women and command blind because it&amp;#39;s in</text><text start="1542.79" dur="5.91">the path and in actually in the setup</text><text start="1546.15" dur="4.53">folder is the one to create it&amp;#39;s called</text><text start="1548.7" dur="4.56">ramdisk and it&amp;#39;s the one to create the</text><text start="1550.68" dur="6.89">ramdisk and basically all they are</text><text start="1553.26" dur="11.19">front-ends that create that loader</text><text start="1557.57" dur="10.36">configuration file X Center just a few</text><text start="1564.45" dur="7.23">things I always switch to else Witcher</text><text start="1567.93" dur="7.41">immediately I just get rid of the win</text><text start="1571.68" dur="5.91">list you could theoretically run the</text><text start="1575.34" dur="5.97">standalone version of L switcher and</text><text start="1577.59" dur="5.58">leave the win list in I&amp;#39;ve never</text><text start="1581.31" dur="4.8">actually tried it but there would be no</text><text start="1583.17" dur="5.7">reason to prevent it you can&amp;#39;t run both</text><text start="1586.11" dur="5.25">standalone L switch or and L switch or</text><text start="1588.87" dur="4.29">an X Center at the same time because</text><text start="1591.36" dur="8.49">they&amp;#39;re gonna leave you one version of L</text><text start="1593.16" dur="11.21">switch or Ronnie I always removed in use</text><text start="1599.85" dur="10.32">plugins the consideration here is that</text><text start="1604.37" dur="10.81">all of those all of X all of x workplace</text><text start="1610.17" dur="8.16">runs as part of the PM process it&amp;#39;s part</text><text start="1615.18" dur="5.13">of the system so it&amp;#39;s it&amp;#39;s increasing</text><text start="1618.33" dur="6.51">the memory in the complexity of what is</text><text start="1620.31" dur="7.26">already the most complex part when X</text><text start="1624.84" dur="5.52">Center opens rather the plug-in is</text><text start="1627.57" dur="6.48">installed or not if it is in the</text><text start="1630.36" dur="9.9">directory that plug-in gets loaded so it</text><text start="1634.05" dur="9.39">is taking up memory if nothing else X W</text><text start="1640.26" dur="5.25">land is kind of worst because when you</text><text start="1643.44" dur="5.07">close X Center supposedly all of these</text><text start="1645.51" dur="6.45">get unloaded for whatever reason it</text><text start="1648.51" dur="5.76">doesn&amp;#39;t unload so that&amp;#39;s one of the ones</text><text start="1651.96" dur="4.47">unless you need it for Wi-Fi that you</text><text start="1654.27" dur="3.9">probably want to go in and rename the</text><text start="1656.43" dur="3.06">easiest thing to do is just go in the</text><text start="1658.17" dur="4.14">directory and all the ones you&amp;#39;re not</text><text start="1659.49" dur="3.69">using just rename them because as soon</text><text start="1662.31" dur="4.92">as you there know</text><text start="1663.18" dur="6.48">longer DLL extension it doesn&amp;#39;t try to</text><text start="1667.23" dur="4.68">load them and so that saves the memory</text><text start="1669.66" dur="3.93">and then if you decide later you want to</text><text start="1671.91" dur="6.81">use it you just have to go in and rename</text><text start="1673.59" dur="7.17">it back and install it I always add it</text><text start="1678.72" dur="3.66">to the screen border so that you can</text><text start="1680.76" dur="4.29">just go down to the screen border and it</text><text start="1682.38" dur="5.46">opens X Center that can be done two ways</text><text start="1685.05" dur="6.03">the X Center settings itself has a</text><text start="1687.84" dur="5.67">checkbox that says add 2 to this green</text><text start="1691.08" dur="5.24">border and then you can actually go into</text><text start="1693.51" dur="7.59">the page or a screen page where you can</text><text start="1696.32" dur="13.03">throw it in as going to that border next</text><text start="1701.1" dur="12.45">slide the full X workplace has a couple</text><text start="1709.35" dur="9.72">of features that the our Kanoa one does</text><text start="1713.55" dur="7.74">not the reboot two choices in other</text><text start="1719.07" dur="3.72">words you can read when you&amp;#39;ve just got</text><text start="1721.29" dur="5.52">the Arcanum when you have your choice of</text><text start="1722.79" dur="7.71">reboot or of shutdown with the full</text><text start="1726.81" dur="6.6">version you have reboot reboot - which</text><text start="1730.5" dur="4.86">is you can actually tell it okay I want</text><text start="1733.41" dur="6.81">to reboot to whichever partition you</text><text start="1735.36" dur="8.85">want to work on with err boot at least</text><text start="1740.22" dur="6.39">the last that I looked the nice little</text><text start="1744.21" dur="6.75">menu where it tells you what to put in</text><text start="1746.61" dur="7.47">to set the reboot isn&amp;#39;t there but it&amp;#39;s</text><text start="1750.96" dur="7.41">real simple to do all you do is put set</text><text start="1754.08" dur="6.81">boot slash IBA and then the colon and</text><text start="1758.37" dur="6.66">then in parentheses is whatever the name</text><text start="1760.89" dur="6.48">of the partition is and even if it</text><text start="1765.03" dur="4.46">didn&amp;#39;t show on the list it works just</text><text start="1767.37" dur="2.12">fine</text><text start="1771.59" dur="5.8">turbo folders is not included in turbo</text><text start="1775.23" dur="4.29">folders is kind of problematic in that</text><text start="1777.39" dur="6.48">it changes the way that the associations</text><text start="1779.52" dur="6.87">work it associates the the way that they</text><text start="1783.87" dur="6.15">natively work is they&amp;#39;re associated by</text><text start="1786.39" dur="6.33">filter this changes it so that are</text><text start="1790.02" dur="5.94">associated by type but in order for that</text><text start="1792.72" dur="4.29">to work the filters have to be under the</text><text start="1795.96" dur="3.12">type</text><text start="1797.01" dur="3.9">so you have to actually go in and</text><text start="1799.08" dur="5.12">associate the filters with all the type</text><text start="1800.91" dur="6.33">it doesäôt a page where you can do that</text><text start="1804.2" dur="5.229">associate editor edit which i think is a</text><text start="1807.24" dur="5.939">very nice little tool is what I actually</text><text start="1809.429" dur="6.331">use to do that if I&amp;#39;m playing with that</text><text start="1813.179" start="1825" dur="4.98">various things within X workplace on and</text><text start="1828.27" dur="5.34">off if that&amp;#39;s something that you wish to</text><text start="1829.98" dur="7.64">do that settings is not available in the</text><text start="1833.61" dur="4.01">Arcanum one next slide</text><text start="1837.63" dur="8.49">Arkham a / Arkham mapper has some issues</text><text start="1843.29" dur="7.36">one of the ones that is really kind of</text><text start="1846.12" dur="6.929">confusing is is auto start there are</text><text start="1850.65" dur="5.94">actually two ways to automatically</text><text start="1853.049" dur="6.12">restart the shares you can either use</text><text start="1856.59" dur="6.36">net drives persistent setting which is</text><text start="1859.169" dur="7.38">the one I recommend Auto Start is crap</text><text start="1862.95" dur="8.37">as far as I&amp;#39;m concerned auto start has</text><text start="1866.549" dur="7.471">the following problems one most of the</text><text start="1871.32" dur="4.95">time you will get an error that one or</text><text start="1874.02" dur="4.2">more your shares is not available which</text><text start="1876.27" dur="5.49">I find very interesting because if I use</text><text start="1878.22" dur="5.67">drive persistence what I will get from</text><text start="1881.76" dur="4.83">auto start if I had it installed at the</text><text start="1883.89" dur="5.46">same time is the error telling me the</text><text start="1886.59" dur="5.28">share is already installed which means</text><text start="1889.35" dur="5.3">drive persistence goes first and manages</text><text start="1891.87" dur="6.51">to find them all</text><text start="1894.65" dur="5.32">it doesn&amp;#39;t uninstall gracefully all it</text><text start="1898.38" dur="4.02">does is throw an error message that says</text><text start="1899.97" dur="4.47">I couldn&amp;#39;t uninstall myself it&amp;#39;s pretty</text><text start="1902.4" dur="5.69">easy to uninstall because you can simply</text><text start="1904.44" dur="7.38">pull it out of the startup folder and</text><text start="1908.09" dur="5.32">that fixes it but it&amp;#39;s still one of</text><text start="1911.82" dur="8.34">those things where you&amp;#39;d like to see</text><text start="1913.41" dur="9.24">that it does that the auto persistence</text><text start="1920.16" dur="6.45">what you do is you need to do it before</text><text start="1922.65" dur="5.46">you do anything with Mountie volumes you</text><text start="1926.61" dur="3.87">want to change persist volume</text><text start="1928.11" dur="5.45">configuration to vol</text><text start="1930.48" dur="5.13">configure or whatever name you are using</text><text start="1933.56" dur="3.97">for your volumes because you can</text><text start="1935.61" dur="5.88">actually set that to something else this</text><text start="1937.53" dur="7.38">is the default name and then to do that</text><text start="1941.49" dur="6.8">you just unruhe market or you add it to</text><text start="1944.91" dur="7.23">the NB c-- LT configure file which is in</text><text start="1948.29" dur="7.51">wherever and the FS is in it&amp;#39;s under</text><text start="1952.14" dur="7.05">that it&amp;#39;s under your boot drive programs</text><text start="1955.8" dur="10.38">nd FS if it&amp;#39;s an R if it&amp;#39;s a default or</text><text start="1959.19" dur="9.36">Cano install the other annoying thing</text><text start="1966.18" dur="4.29">about out of start is minimized means</text><text start="1968.55" dur="4.92">that you have a throbber that covers</text><text start="1970.47" dur="5.31">about half your screen that runs until</text><text start="1973.47" dur="4.14">all of the drives have been restored or</text><text start="1975.78" dur="3.63">until it&amp;#39;s thrown the twelve error</text><text start="1977.61" dur="12.6">messages that it&amp;#39;s going to throw about</text><text start="1979.41" dur="14.91">the fact that can&amp;#39;t find them next if</text><text start="1990.21" dur="8.01">you try to install shares from servers</text><text start="1994.32" dur="7.23">where all you have are NetBIOS names it</text><text start="1998.22" dur="5.07">won&amp;#39;t find them what you have to do is</text><text start="2001.55" dur="5.34">you have to put in your host file that</text><text start="2003.29" dur="6.26">NetBIOS name and then the IP address now</text><text start="2006.89" dur="7.29">if you have a local dynamic named server</text><text start="2009.55" dur="7.9">that fixes it you would have to use the</text><text start="2014.18" dur="5.91">host names though for any of the IP</text><text start="2017.45" dur="5.28">addresses obviously if you&amp;#39;re using DHCP</text><text start="2020.09" dur="6.18">and there&amp;#39;s a reason to believe your</text><text start="2022.73" dur="7.59">servers IP address might change you have</text><text start="2026.27" dur="6.3">to do one of a couple of things well you</text><text start="2030.32" dur="5.76">could set up a name server you can</text><text start="2032.57" dur="6.03">actually almost all of the DHCP servers</text><text start="2036.08" dur="6.96">can be told that always give this IP</text><text start="2038.6" dur="7.22">address to this MAC address or you can</text><text start="2043.04" dur="6.18">set up your server as a static address I</text><text start="2045.82" dur="5.95">think most of the DHCP servers the</text><text start="2049.22" dur="4.95">highest address they will give is the</text><text start="2051.77" dur="5.34">one just below the last the first static</text><text start="2054.17" dur="5.43">so you want the static address to be way</text><text start="2057.11" dur="6.54">high up if you&amp;#39;re setting it with a</text><text start="2059.6" dur="4.63">static and everything else is on DHCP we</text><text start="2063.65" dur="4.33">talked a little</text><text start="2064.23" dur="7.02">about four LS to some of the sample</text><text start="2067.98" dur="5.909">processes end up essentially running</text><text start="2071.25" dur="4.609">amok and the only way to take care of</text><text start="2073.889" dur="5.161">that is to just go out and kill them</text><text start="2075.859" dur="9.611">right now the advanced mount options</text><text start="2079.05" dur="8.099">which are curve O&amp;#39;s 5 which encryption</text><text start="2085.47" dur="5.189">system you&amp;#39;re using and a couple of</text><text start="2087.149" dur="4.23">other things they&amp;#39;re all selected by</text><text start="2090.659" dur="2.611">default</text><text start="2091.379" dur="3.711">and of course interestingly they&amp;#39;re</text><text start="2093.27" dur="6.18">mutually exclusive</text><text start="2095.09" dur="6.55">so not real helpful basically you just</text><text start="2099.45" dur="3.75">in their location is unintuitive if</text><text start="2101.64" dur="6.09">you&amp;#39;re going through the front page</text><text start="2103.2" dur="7.919">which is the shares page it&amp;#39;s on the</text><text start="2107.73" dur="5.73">second page of that tab if you&amp;#39;re going</text><text start="2111.119" dur="4.921">through the neighborhood network page</text><text start="2113.46" dur="7.49">it&amp;#39;s actually on a dialog box that you</text><text start="2116.04" dur="4.91">pull up so they&amp;#39;re not in the same place</text><text start="2123.41" dur="5.34">fortunately with that well next slide</text><text start="2126.48" dur="2.27">okay</text><text start="2129.95" dur="5.38">one of the strange things about it is</text><text start="2132.619" dur="5.201">Arkham app or doesn&amp;#39;t load the settings</text><text start="2135.33" dur="5.1">from Samba configure in other words</text><text start="2137.82" dur="5.76">what&amp;#39;s there is its defaults not what&amp;#39;s</text><text start="2140.43" dur="6.36">in your Samba configures doc doc config</text><text start="2143.58" dur="5.73">so if I go in and fix those advanced</text><text start="2146.79" dur="5.7">settings to whatever I really need and</text><text start="2149.31" dur="5.94">then save it that&amp;#39;s in my sambuca fik</text><text start="2152.49" dur="4.83">config but the next time I open this</text><text start="2155.25" dur="3.99">they will still all be checked so it</text><text start="2157.32" dur="4.289">looks like it hasn&amp;#39;t been fixed when in</text><text start="2159.24" dur="5.43">fact it really actually has been fixed</text><text start="2161.609" dur="5.911">that&amp;#39;s true for basically all the</text><text start="2164.67" dur="5.699">settings in there so you really don&amp;#39;t</text><text start="2167.52" dur="4.41">you want to set it up once and then you</text><text start="2170.369" dur="4.041">don&amp;#39;t want to write to the settings</text><text start="2171.93" dur="5.46">again unless you are intentionally</text><text start="2174.41" dur="6.34">changing those settings because it will</text><text start="2177.39" dur="6.57">blithely overwrite whatever you had</text><text start="2180.75" dur="6.06">already had in there and change it to</text><text start="2183.96" dur="7.35">whatever happens to be checked or not</text><text start="2186.81" dur="7.4">checked in these various boxes okay</text><text start="2191.31" dur="6.78">network printing isn&amp;#39;t supported through</text><text start="2194.21" dur="5.68">Arkham a per you can do Network pretty</text><text start="2198.09" dur="3.75">a couple of ways obviously cups is</text><text start="2199.89" dur="3.87">probably the obvious one for anybody</text><text start="2201.84" dur="4.86">that has a cups burner that works pretty</text><text start="2203.76" dur="5.61">smoothly I happen to have an old HP</text><text start="2206.7" dur="7.92">LaserJet that I can&amp;#39;t get working with</text><text start="2209.37" dur="7.44">cups and I&amp;#39;ve found that there&amp;#39;s an SMB</text><text start="2214.62" dur="4.62">printer port which is shipped with our</text><text start="2216.81" dur="4.23">Co s you just need to install that</text><text start="2219.24" dur="5.15">printer port it&amp;#39;s easy to install with</text><text start="2221.04" dur="6.87">the print manager and then just</text><text start="2224.39" dur="6.66">essentially print to that port one of</text><text start="2227.91" dur="7.26">the odd things about it is the FMP the</text><text start="2231.05" dur="6.28">SMB print exe doesn&amp;#39;t work with parallel</text><text start="2235.17" dur="5.25">ports in other words it&amp;#39;s great if</text><text start="2237.33" dur="5.04">you&amp;#39;re if the printer is attached the</text><text start="2240.42" dur="7.71">USB port probably works great if it&amp;#39;s</text><text start="2242.37" dur="8.97">actually a network attached but I did</text><text start="2248.13" dur="7.68">find that I can actually change that</text><text start="2251.34" dur="6.72">configuration and substitute print exp</text><text start="2255.81" dur="4.38">and it&amp;#39;ll print it just fine to a</text><text start="2258.06" dur="4.77">parallel port the only problem with that</text><text start="2260.19" dur="6.72">is it doesn&amp;#39;t get rid of the spool files</text><text start="2262.83" dur="6.15">and unfortunately that fills up unless</text><text start="2266.91" dur="4.92">you have a huge drive fills up a drive</text><text start="2268.98" dur="6.9">pretty quickly but I did finally just</text><text start="2271.83" dur="6.36">write a command file it don&amp;#39;t goes in</text><text start="2275.88" dur="4.77">and deletes all those spool files in the</text><text start="2278.19" dur="9.54">middle of the night so that that all</text><text start="2280.65" dur="12.84">works alright yeah I can I could</text><text start="2287.73" dur="7.56">probably do that okay high memory you</text><text start="2293.49" dur="5.79">know it&amp;#39;d be nice to be able to use all</text><text start="2295.29" dur="6.33">that extra memory above 512 for</text><text start="2299.28" dur="5.91">applications and stuff like that which</text><text start="2301.62" dur="8.73">is the original limit in os/2 the</text><text start="2305.19" dur="7.29">mozilla apps open office and clamavi at</text><text start="2310.35" dur="5.22">minimum you should probably use high</text><text start="2312.48" dur="5.88">memory at least try using high mem they</text><text start="2315.57" dur="5.3">do cause there are reports of some</text><text start="2318.36" dur="5.34">stability problems and some other</text><text start="2320.87" dur="5.5">strange hangs and stuff like that on</text><text start="2323.7" dur="4.41">some systems with this but I think</text><text start="2326.37" dur="3.93">you&amp;#39;re better off trying it because</text><text start="2328.11" dur="3.18">there are a lot of reports when you</text><text start="2330.3" dur="3.12">don&amp;#39;t use</text><text start="2331.29" dur="6.15">of memory just getting completely eaten</text><text start="2333.42" dur="6.63">up you can either do it with high mam</text><text start="2337.44" dur="8.25">exe which is actually included with with</text><text start="2340.05" dur="7.86">OpenOffice or Exe header exe which is</text><text start="2345.69" dur="3.75">installed on our Co s and you can just</text><text start="2347.91" dur="5.07">type it at the command line because it&amp;#39;s</text><text start="2349.44" dur="5.31">in the path and just you know type it</text><text start="2352.98" dur="5.07">with a slash question mark and it will</text><text start="2354.75" dur="5.97">tell you what you need to do again a</text><text start="2358.05" dur="5.97">warnings about the stability and the</text><text start="2360.72" dur="8.63">answer of why not everything the problem</text><text start="2364.02" dur="5.33">is that there are 20 some-odd</text><text start="2369.71" dur="8.59">lowest of the interface commands like</text><text start="2374.96" dur="6.01">you know das open I don&amp;#39;t think das open</text><text start="2378.3" dur="6.45">is actually one of them but that are not</text><text start="2380.97" dur="6.48">high memory compatible so all of the old</text><text start="2384.75" dur="5.16">programs that were written from this</text><text start="2387.45" dur="5.61">straight from the tool kit without</text><text start="2389.91" dur="5.19">wrapper II knows they won&amp;#39;t work</text><text ability to</text><text start="2574.72" dur="5.37">backup and restore and it does backup</text><text start="2577.6" dur="5.67">each time that it cleans it it also</text><text start="2580.09" dur="4.92">backs up the old ones so in case it did</text><text start="2583.27" dur="5.49">break something you can actually restore</text><text start="2585.01" dur="6.71">that file obviously it&amp;#39;s not a</text><text start="2588.76" dur="14.67">replacement for any cleaners or checkers</text><text start="2591.72" dur="14.11">next slide these are some of the ones</text><text start="2623.53" dur="5.22">that so it&amp;#39;s not an any cleaner or</text><text start="2625.57" dur="5.34">checker in the classic sense but it</text><text start="2628.75" dur="5.85">gives you the ability to go in yourself</text><text start="2630.91" dur="5.64">and remove stuff that you in other words</text><text start="2634.6" dur="5.78">some programs will do strange things</text><text start="2636.55" dur="8.58">like they will load their icon into the</text><text start="2640.38" dur="7.57">any file when in truth that&amp;#39;s their icon</text><text start="2645.13" dur="5.15">anyways so it&amp;#39;s just taking up space and</text><text start="2647.95" dur="5.37">any file for no particularly good reason</text><text start="2650.28" dur="4.57">so you can remove some of those and you</text><text start="2653.32" dur="6.33">know what the biggest offender for</text><text start="2654.85" dur="9.33">putting icons and nos to any is its</text><text start="2659.65" dur="9.369">unimate all of its CMD files put put</text><text start="2664.18" dur="9.74">their icons into the in the OS to</text><text start="2669.019" dur="8.17">any so that&amp;#39;s that&amp;#39;s the one problem</text><text start="2673.92" dur="5.279">that I have with unimate it&amp;#39;s actually</text><text start="2677.189" dur="8.79">you can actually now just download it</text><text start="2679.199" dur="9.181">and use it without a license and clean</text><text start="2685.979" dur="4.47">any and check any the first two were the</text><text start="2688.38" dur="2.939">two that I actually use to any great</text><text start="2690.449" dur="4.681">extent</text><text start="2691.319" dur="8.67">I do have uni mate but I don&amp;#39;t use it</text><text start="2695.13" dur="8.219">that much next some other useful</text><text start="2699.989" dur="6.3">utilities at least in my view clip view</text><text start="2703.349" dur="7.561">I think is really a must-have utility it</text><text start="2706.289" dur="7.41">just gives you a list of of clips you</text><text start="2710.91" dur="6.689">can have up to 21 and you can actually</text><text start="2713.699" dur="7.26">run multiple ones of these which gives</text><text start="2717.599" dur="7.83">you the ability on the other ones you&amp;#39;re</text><text start="2720.959" dur="6.54">running to actually lock the different</text><text start="2725.429" dur="5.16">things into it for things that you use</text><text start="2727.499" dur="5.76">very regularly you know if you will your</text><text start="2730.589" dur="7.35">name for example so you can just go in</text><text start="2733.259" dur="7.43">and pick it and and go ahead and just</text><text start="2737.939" dur="2.75">paste it in</text><text start="2770.28" dur="5.8">the other thing you can do is there is a</text><text start="2773.05" dur="8.04">command-line switch which is I think -</text><text start="2776.08" start="2832.84" dur="5.46">simply save this instead of printing to</text><text start="2836.23" dur="4.23">a printer which I think very few people</text><text start="2838.3" dur="4.71">in this day and age are really</text><text start="2840.46" dur="5.52">interested in from print screen it saves</text><text start="2843.01" dur="4.65">it to a file it will do it quietly or it</text><text start="2845.98" dur="4.05">will give you the option of picking a</text><text start="2847.66" dur="3.63">file name it will give you all kinds of</text><text start="2850.03" dur="2.28">options in other words anybody who&amp;#39;s</text><text start="2851.29" dur="3.48">used gotcha</text><text start="2852.31" dur="4.46">it has the potential to give you all the</text><text start="2854.77" dur="4.56">choices with god sure which include</text><text start="2856.77" dur="6.22">picking a window picking a window</text><text start="2859.33" dur="5.94">interior just simply roping off a</text><text start="2862.99" dur="6.51">section of the screen or picking the</text><text start="2865.27" dur="5.7">whole screen it will default to full</text><text start="2869.5" dur="4.02">screen if you just want it to do it</text><text start="2870.97" dur="6.6">silently you can save the clipboard</text><text start="2873.52" dur="6">print screen and shift print screen</text><text start="2877.57" dur="4.98">actually print to a file can</text><text start="2879.52" dur="6.27">trol print screen will print it to the</text><text start="2882.55" dur="5.16">clipboard and alt printscreen pulls up</text><text start="2885.79" dur="3.48">its settings so you can change any of</text><text start="2887.71" dur="6.18">those things that you might like to</text><text start="2889.27" dur="7.11">change and this gotcha screen that you</text><text start="2893.89" dur="5.34">see here which is is how you do it this</text><text start="2896.38" dur="4.65">is the old one obviously because I was</text><text start="2899.23" dur="6.99">too lazy to rebuild it and didn&amp;#39;t have a</text><text start="2901.03" dur="6.96">copy of the new one the that screen is</text><text start="2906.22" dur="3.9">actually the front of the settings</text><text start="2907.99" dur="7.05">screen so that you can actually then</text><text start="2910.12" dur="7.38">manually do a print screen capture if</text><text printer no yeah you can you</text><text start="2957.79" dur="7.47">can close it and then you get IBM&amp;#39;s</text><text start="2960.64" dur="12.15">print screen back so so yes you can
