Why is everybody making such a big deal over what he DIDN'T play? This was a delight.

dun, dun, dun. another one bites the dust?

+TheCryptCrusader He must of not known that Money was a bassline, otherwise there would be many more basslines on this list.
Report spam or abuse
+Atticus Finch Seems like Wish You Were Here or ABITW pt. II would have been better Floyd choices.
Report spam or abuse
That tone for Don't fear the reaper was almost spot on
Report spam or abuse
+IronOrePickaxe The fact that he played it all back-to-back was impressive enough, but he kept switching pedals the whole time for each one, too? Dang, bro, nicely done!

Holy fuck he is amazing. please make more of these

brief history on guitar hero fans deciding to learn on a real guitar...

Report spam or abuse
+iFokshe Pah Yeah, screw anyone who played guitar hero and wanted to learn how to play real guitar. Little posers, all of them.
Report spam or abuse
What, no Justin Bieber or 1 Direction? That's bullshit, man.

+SigmaTV Yes with influential songs like You a Stupid Hoe and Anaconda

Yeah, we are talking about 'ROCK AND ROLL' not 'PUSSY POP GROUPS'! Get into a better music genre before you and your bullshit generation ruin the future of music.

I really wish i could get a guitar and start learning some of these songs but sadly im broke and cant afford a guitar, amp, anything.
Report spam or abuse
Report spam or abuse
+KarRuptAssassin Sorry you're broke, but if you can save up enough to get a guitar at a pawn shop ($50-100ish dollar range for something playable) there is free amp modeling software you can run through your computer (which I assume you have since you're posting here). And remember, even if a guitar sucks, it can almost always be set up to play and sound great if you take the time to educate yourself on how to properly set up a guitar.

Great video. He covers the 2000s in a fraction of the time he spent on the 90s, 80s and 70s. Shows how shitty music has become.
Report spam or abuse
+HabsFan123 What you fail to understand is that all the shitty music from 70s, 80s and 90s is forgotten. I can guarantee you that people said the same shit in the 70s. They probably said shit like "The music today is just shit. Do you remember the 20s when they had real talent and didn't just shout and turn the volume up!?!?!"... And people will same the exact same thing in 20 years, because people are ignorant and stupid. And I don't think that will ever change.

Where are Hotel California,Stairway to heaven and Voodoo Child!?
Report spam or abuse
Just letting you know dude, Hotel California doesn't have a riff. The 12 string acoustic plays a chord progression with about 7 different chords
Report spam or abuse
+Dylan Quinlan Exactly. Also knowing from experience you need a kapo to play Hotel California in correct key.

Was anybody else just really impressed with 10:15?
Report spam or abuse
No because it's a really simple riff to learn
Report spam or abuse
+Hazzer Sheard Not the riff the switch between picking and the slide

3:23 that was an awesome switch from sweet home alabama!

Ok, this is amazing. This video affirms my belief that music requires real talent, not just a computer. I knew all but 5 of these, and most of them rank as favorites of mine. Give it an honest listen on quality speakers.

Purple Haze was #13, right after Satisfaction...

missed that, I can play about 10-15 of those fairly well, only the last few in the 90's that I had never heard...

my only complaint is that not all the songs sounded perfect but very good job and quite impresive doing it in one take

Altough I enjoyed the video —not the last 20 ones or so, but anyway—, I gotta say that you misplayed Paranoid and Smoke on the Water: Paranoid is played at the 12th fret; Smoke's main riff is played fingerstyle.

+D.J. Ryals They're actually more hard rock these days with some pretty sick riffs (in my opinion). They change their sound on almost every album though so you can't really fit them in a single genre
Report spam or abuse
We need a sequel to this!

+Alvaro Castillo weezer's not punk, green day it's a song when they stoped doing punk...
Report spam or abuse
I love punk/hardcore and stuff but most punk riffs are so overly simple and repetitive they don't belong here. I was surprised when blitzkrieg bop made the list.

I find it a shame that so many people know "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and no one knows "Hold On".

Im new to like the electric guitar since ive played the acoustic for so long and i am so lost on how he made such hard rock sounds without changing the turning, is he using a pad system ( idk what those things that change the sound of the guitar are called sorry ) is it the tone he changes or what cuz im lost and i mean i have a fender hss strat affinity series which is the same brand of guitar so is it the tone or a pad system or the type of guitar or tuning that i have to change??
Report spam or abuse
+legomypancakes thank you so much i appreciate the assistance and i will try to use the gain when i can bc i never used it at all but i will now so thank you very much
Report spam or abuse
You can't just make a video its name includes the words "rock n roll" and B.B King , Robert Johnson( and probably more kind of these artists I didn't mention ) wouldn't show there
Report spam or abuse
I always thought they were considered to be more blues than anything else, maybe I was wrong though anyway they're both fantastic
Report spam or abuse
+rock4ever1212 You also can't include everything.
Report spam or abuse
Black magic woman was originally recorded by Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green, not Santana. Other than that awesome dude
Report spam or abuse
Michael Jackson is rock n roll?
Report spam or abuse
Although it says Rock n Roll, there are different genres in there, for example, Green Day and Weezer are considered Pop Punk, Cult of Personality is Punk Rock, Nirvana is Grunge, there was a lot if blues near the start, etc. So he doesn't seem to just be focusing on Rock, he's branched out.
Report spam or abuse
True, although I wouldn't call Weezer Pop Punk, I'd classify them as Alt-Rock.
Report spam or abuse
That was one hell of a quick drop-d tunning
Report spam or abuse
Maybe a bit overlapped, but really nice overall man!
Report spam or abuse
Mr sandman was in there twice
Report spam or abuse
This list is a sham! Not one Metallica rift, seriously?!
Report spam or abuse
+Analytical Associates I personally would have picked a different riff for Metallica, but being that was the first song to be released for the black album. I can see why it is on the list. The Beatles are simply the best. I love all genres of music.
Report spam or abuse
Cool! Thanks for your thoughts!

I thought Status Quo originally did Matchstick men?
Report spam or abuse
Report spam or abuse
Well, exactly waht music is not about in my opinion and especially rock and roll. 100 guitar riffs, without soul. But good job anyway, very good  excellent technique! Maybe someday you'll be able to play the guitar.
Report spam or abuse
+D.J. Ryals  no not at all, I'm sorry I didnt want to be rude or judge,  obviously like I said this guitarist is an expert monkey and practised a lot to achieve this video. He is the expert , I'm not, I just wanted to share my opinion on rock and roll since it says history of rock. Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings, that wasnt the point. I wanted to say, he didnt groove, he was sitting on a chair not shaking his head.... he imitated 100 riffs perfectly but that isnt music. I'm also a guitarist, (I would say a terrible one) but I play with my heart  lol ! Dont take this seriously , i,m probly just jealous or something. Fucking internet just ignore me , that's right :p  If you read carefully, you will notice I compliment his skillz also.

+Sylvebarbe TREEBEARD Jesus, I hope your not as bad at guitar as you are at spelling.

Can anyone explain what that thing is he's wearing on his ring finger for certain riffs.
Report spam or abuse
Its called a guitar slide and its used to create a different tone. U can get one at a music shop and theyre not that expensive
Report spam or abuse
